Hammy voice acting, over-the-top and slightly tacky cut-scenes, and a story you all heard before or frankly aren't really interested in hearing in the first place. This doesn't sound like a good start to a review for which I have given 5 stars! This game has a habit of sucking you in for just 1 more turn and before you know it, its 3 in the morning and you only have 4 hours to sleep before having waking up to get to work for that important meeting in the morning!Do you play another turn, or do you go to bed? This game combines many many good things from strategy war games we have seen before in the past.Hero character gain new skills as they gain experience. They can also wield artifacts that have their own unique powers.Artifacts can also be allocated to army units and they can be upgraded when new unit types become available and they also gain experience that offer new skills. There are choices between each level as to which scenario to tackle next, and new choices open up depending on how well you have completed the previous level.Anyone that has played any of the classic SSI Generals series (especially the brilliant Fantasy General) will feel right at home!At the current price of £6.34 for the original game plus the expansion packs is brilliant value for money!

Elven legacy (sequel to Fantasy wars) is one of those games that actually is challenging in a rewarding way. There is very little luck involved in this game, so when something goes wrong, it is your fault.Much like a good game should, this game starts of relatively easy, with the first few missions being a real cakewalk, but it gets progressively hard as you get further into the game, and the last missions should prove a challenge to most people, even on normal. There are no insane difficulty spikes in this game, which only makes it feel more fare. The 3 expansions are not as well balanced, but they are still fun to play. Rangers was a bit on the easy side (on normal),while the other two offers a downright nail-biting challenge. But they are, again, fare.It is not the most original game of all time though. It borrows heavily from Panzer general in many ways, so if you are familiar with that game, you should know what to expect.
