Due to Covid-19 and being a person over 80 with diabetes I was nervous about allowing a chimney sweep to enter my house. The situation is that I have fireplace and chimney that was added to my house after it was built consequently there is no chimney breast it goes straight up on the outside wall. I saw the chimney being built 38 years ago and know that it had a liner but did not know the diameter of it. I purchased the 400mm brush before considering fully the task and I realised from the dimensions of the stack above the roof ridge that the likely diameter of the flue was about 200mm so I had to cut the brush head down to about 250mm. Yes I could have bought one with this dimension.I had to use wire nips to successfully cut down the brush.I use smokeless fuel and from watching the chimney sweep on previous occasions I know that there would not be too much soot. The whole operation when very well however I did not push the brush out of the top of the chimney as I was still a little nervous about getting it down again. I am now confident enough to repeat the operation next year if necessary. Obviously my "straight up" chimneywith a round liner made the operation much easier than facing some older chimneys

I bought this at a cost of £2.63 (21/04/2017) through Amazon with it being referred to as an ADD-ON item which applies to Amazon purchases with a value to £20 plus. Strangely all the add on bits arrived today 21/04/2017 with no delivery of the Prime item and it's promised next day delivery promise to amazon prime members. This just reinforces my experiences that the next day promise cannot be relied on.The drop head scrapper screwed unto my drain rods with no problem what ever. The fit was both nice and tight and deep so that I had no fear of the dropper undoing itself in the event that I had to manipulate the rod in an unwinding manner. This is made of what appears to be a decent quality metal. The joins to the screw on head are well made. This item was delivered alongside other purchases in a super fast less than 24 hours from order to delivery.I have had it in my possession for less than 8 hours and having used it at my sons home, have already completed a job and saved a potential fortuneOVERALL, very good value, well worth the purchase cost especially as a delivered so promptly item.

Looks very sturdy, I have not used it yet but it look the part. I have a 6inch volcanic pumice lined chimney for my wood burning stove, so chimney fires are not a problem but I prefer to not let that happen. This chimney is difficult to clean and requires a lot of scrapping to remove the tar and resin. I burn a cleaning log every two months prior to brushing two weeks after. This removes most of the creosote (but not all) and leaves tar and resin in a coke like condition which is easy to remove with a scraper or quality stiff brush hence the reason why I bought this Silverline 366706 wire brush. I will let you know how it performs when I get around to sweeping the chimney.

I have the 10m silverline heavy duty kit, which worked OK last time had a blockage: took a lot of plunging to work up enough pressure to clear it (maybe). This kit arrived the day it all blocked up again, so in under 5 minutes I was setup and pushed my now 14m drain rod all the way down to the main sewer (as can now reach)... and instantly cleared the blockage. Attachments seemed OK: just have to be careful to constantly rotate clockwise or youll be in worse doo doo than you were before. I can see how some reviews would say they were cheap (they are!) and broke: but I gave them a bit of welly and the pins didnt seem to loosen.Hopefully won't need them again.

A simple cheap device but so useful - It does have a screw thread for telescopic poles (drain rods) I used a length of 22mm plastic pipe approx' 5' or to suit. I softened up the end over a flame to soften and pushed it gently for a tighter fit of the accessory, I smeared the end of the device with some resin glue and stuck it into the pipe. I had an old plastic garden trowell which was a good fit and pushed this into the other end. If you line it up with the gutter device you have an elbow support and a scoop. Voila - job done. Recommended purchase. Make sure you get the 'Silverline version' at £3.69

I used it to scrape mud out of a 4 inch concrete ground drain (about 7 metres long). It did a good job, but I couldn't tell if the scraper was pointing downwards or not. Perhaps I should have marked each rod so that I would know if they were at the correct angle for the scraper to drop down. In my case I just kept pushing and pulling them in and out of the drain, and whenever I felt resistance it was a sign that the scraper was doing its job. Before using this tool, I used the worm screw attachment to break up the mud.

Haven't tried the pipes yet but they look sturdy and exactly like you'd expect. What's so impressive about this product is the price and the turnaround time! I can't believe how cheap the drain rods were (the only place you can buy spare rods easily and quickly on the internet) and how quickly they arrived. I only ordered these very late last night and they arrived the following morning! 10/10. Thank you so much for such an amazing service.

As the gutters of my conservatory are of a smaller size I had to grind down the sides of this scraper to ensure it would fit down into the gutter. I was aware of this before purchasing it and decided to take the chance that it could be done. I had no problem and it worked well. I then used it in the larger gutters of my house and, even though I had adapted it to work with the smaller gutters, it still did the job well.

Perfect when clearing the gutters but what would help if the profile was a little smaller as my gutters are shallow, There's a tendency at full stretch (all the rods connected) for the scraper to catch on the brackets or the underside of the tiles and requires a bit of wiggling. Often the rods will fall to the ground and means having unscrew and refix the rods - but with no damage caused.

The toilet drain were blocked due to my employee used far too much tissue paper, use many different tools but this you only feel the soft patch extend quite long along the drain. Tried different tools several days, this one combined with the rods did the trick. because it managed to pull all the soft things out. Only wished if a smaller size version is available.

I use this for clearing out the gully between the bungalow roof and the conservatory. Using the auger and drain rods to loosen up the soil first then using this scraper makes for easy work. The thread fits standard rods and the scraper readily moves forward and back when moved. Watch out for it coming unscrewed though, as with all drain rod attachments.

I bought this because it was cheap and had free delivery and it certainly did the job well enough to clean the chimney of my wood burning stove, but judging by the number of bristles it lost in the process I don't think it will last too many uses. That said for the price and the frequency it will be used I am more than satisfied with this purchase.

I knew what I was buying and did not require anything to expensive, fits perfectly with the silverline drain rods that I also purchased, Im using the two together to remove moss from mt roof. The drain rods give me the distance I need and the Dropper opens up on return pull dislodging the moss and allowing it to roll down and off the roof. Simple.

The product functions correctly but it doesn't fit the drain rods that Amazon recommend you buy along with them. The thread is the wrong size and the attachment housing is different to the end of the drain rods. This results in the end falling off all the time as it is not secure. Not what is needed when trying to clear a drain.
