This food was recommended to us by the Vet for our 7 year old un-neutered male Labrador who was approximately 12 kg overweight at 47kg. It had sneaked up on us and as he is a really big dog anyway, surprisingly it wasn't that noticeable. Then he suffered a slipped disc and the pain and suffering he went through was appalling. We even had to contemplate having him put to sleep, but he came through it and started on his road to recovery. The most important aspect of this recovery, was to lose the extra weight and to strengthen the muscles along his spine with exercise. The vet suggested Royal Canin Satiety as Monty (being a normal Labrador) is always hungry. This food was to fill him up,

Our Bernese Mountain Dog has bad joints and even after keyhole operation the vet advised the best thing we can do to help him is to reduce his weight. We tried reducing his normal food but that just left him constantly hungry so the vet suggested this Satiety food as it makes them feel full whilst not giving them as many calories.WINNER! He absolutely loves this food, never pines or begs for more food, in fact he has slightly more of this than he would his normal food, and he's dropped from 49kg to 38kg which is great news. He's much happier and more agile now and whilst this isn't the cheapest dog food around it's worth it to make our dogs life easier.

Our vet recommended we should switch from Royal Canin Light to Satiety after our neutered 5 year old Lhasa Apso kept gaining weight, despite a sensible diet (no unhealthy non-canine treats) and our long daily walks (up to 4 miles!). I can ony say that this food seems to be doing the trick, and after less than 2 weeks and no other changes to his diet, he has already lost some of those extra pounds. The kibble pieces are small, and although he wasn't too keen on it at first (I had to add bits of chicken or tuna) he has now adapted and happily eats every meal without any extras. Very relieved that it appears to be working!

At last this has arrived ,had waited a long time and contacted twice where another bag sent out.Amazon were extremley helpful and ensured this now has reached me and one hungry labrador.My dog was put on this food by the vet and cheaper to buy from Amazon so I am not put off by the delay and will still buy it.My dog seems to like the food and after being on it a month is looking leaner and much more energyAgain Amazon was amazing nothing too much trouble thank you so so much

The above Royal Canin food as recommended by my vet has proved to be very successful in keeping my golden retrievers weight in check,because as many people know they will eat 24/7 given the opportunity. Although the basis of the food is fibre and protein it succeeds in satisfying the dogs appetite for longer periods, while maintaining their agility, also if you are a responsible dog owner you will have no problem in picking up the solid faeces your dog produces.

From a veterinary point of view this is a well balanced product very useful to help control weight in neutered dogs with obesity problems. The animal in question must be monitored every so often by a vet with regular weight checks and assessment of general well being. Adjustment of strictly controlled daily weighed amounts of biscuits (for divided meals) can accurately control weight gain or loss. This diet has worked extremely well for my neutered bitch..

My bullmastiff's weight increased over the years due to age. She's 11 and last January she weighed 60kg. Since being on RC Satiety, she now weighs 48kg. And she's much happier with the food. She was 42kg when I got her from Battersea Dogs and Cats home. She was 2 years old. And she is the most amazing, if not sometimes troublesome, (I blame her age), stubborn and argumentive dog I've ever had. Will not find another like her.

Recommended by our vet for our female lab who was about 6 kilos overweight. I have been feeding since the beginning of November and been fairly strict with her treats. And she has lost 4 kilos already. Really happy with the product. No issues with switching diet and she is happy with it as well. Would recommend for anyone wanting their dog to lose weight.

I have been ordering this product for several months now. It was prescribed by my vet to maintain my dogs weight. It works, she is completely satisfied and has remained at her target weight for over a year. I have never had a problem with delivery and it arrives apx 2 days after ordering. It is also around £10 cheaper per 6kg bag than buying at the vets.

the product itself if great and does the job .as there is no weight shown on this particular bag ,you would expect it to be 5kg for the price of £22 ,but its only 1.5kg which at most is only £11 everywhere els very misleading ,how this company are getting away with this I don't know .after complaining they are refunding the total amount of money .

my Chihuahuas love this complete food and help themselves when they feel peckish. I only put out the measured dose for them to eat during the day and I find my little ones are not greedy so they are just about the right weight and look very good for their ages 6yrs, 6yrs and 4 yrs. Thanks. The delivery was very prompt and just as I ordered it.

This is a great weight loss food for dogs. My middle-aged Frenchie's doing really well on it. It's better than the Obesity type because it's lower in calories so he can have more of it to eat. I will admit that he gets his dental stick at bedtime and maybe a low fat treat during the day. He does miss his Greek Yoghurt though!!!!

With what we are left to collect [sorry!] there can be little in this food. As a consequence, it is good for weight reduction, but our pooch has little energy.I may start alternating this with other foods so that she has energy to go for a walk - either that, I shall re-name her 'Woodbine' as we take her out for a drag!!

This product is great. My lab/collie lost significant weight in just a month without complaint or upset tummy. I was sceptical at first when my vet suggested this product but she was absolutely right- it does the job. My dog feels satisfied on much less food and the results speak for themselves. Recommend highly.

Both my dogs(Springer Spaniels)love this meaty food.One small gripe is that it tends to stick to the groves in the can and is a bit fiddly to get all of it out.That said it keeps their weight in check and they really enjoy it.A bit dearer than run of the mill brands but worth it.Read full review...
