Started building the 1:1200 commercial series from revell as I thought it would look great in a case I found so the titanic was a must.To be honest revell and titanic were never running mates in my view as they have a habit of no updating their molds so are riddled with errors, the queen mary being another example. This model is no exception.In the box:3 veins, the hull, decals paints, glue and the usual literature.First the bad:The hull portholes are completely inaccurate and the coal doors are too low in the hull to create and accurate waterline. Most of the smaller parts such as masts, cranes ect are not to scale. The front super structure is completely wrong such as 6 windows for the wheelhouse and the bulwark on A deck is too short.The B deck windows are also more suited to the grand staircase\gymnasium than that area and windows are completely void on the deck houses. No detailing in the well deck bulwarks, missing two capstans on the poop deck. The windows on b deck superstructure resemble more the Olympic than the titanic, great if you are doing a conversion and beware the model is small and not for the faint hearted. The flags are those annoying decal ones that stick to everything except to what they are supposed to. The paints are rubbish and you don't get all the correct colours. The glue is also rubbish.Second the good:If you don't look too closely, the model in my view is brilliant. The key to this model is with the paintwork. Get this right and you just cant stop looking at this model. I would buy the version without glue and paints because it is cheaper and buy the paints and glue separately. Get a detailing pen for windows. What surprised me about this kit was the sheer lack of flash for such an old kit in comparison to its most recent counterpart aida 1:1200 which is riddled. Using super glue, this model comes together perfectly apart from the front super structure. As per course, paint the parts first before assembly and use masking tape to paint the hull. The decals are fabulous for the size although not to scale but effective. The flags are rubbish but I just left them out. It says on the box skill 3 but I would go to 4 for the sheer paintwork involved as this is the key to the model. This is not for children.Overall and everything into account this really is a fabulous looking model if assembled and painted correctly. It took me 1 week but I spent time at it because I wanted it to look right. I would not generally recommend revell for titanic due to the inaccuracies and their failure to correct them but I will recommend this one. From a profile perspective its fabulous and always catches my eye since built. I would recommend this for more seasoned amateur model makers, not children.

I only gave myself 1 day to build this (school project) and was very impressed with it.Pros -Easy build.Descent level of detail for scale.Very little/no fitment problems.Cons-Decals... a nightmare, probably due to size. (especially trying to fold the flags, gave up on 2).Really enjoyed making this kit and even with the size and time I gave myself to build, its a great looking model. With more time I would of rigged the stacks and probably made a neater finish etc.. but still nice.Will take a look at Revells other small ships after this.

I'm not sure what some other reviewers expected. This is just the plastic parts, instructions and decals. You will need to buy glue and paint separately, as is the case with all model kits that don't state they include these things. The parts aren't too fiddly but you'll need bright light and careful hands or tweezers. The painting was good fun; admittedly I did it once the whole thing was assembled and not bit by bit. Overall this is a lovely kit, would suit a patient child of 12 or over, or any adult.

It is very interesting and fully detailed model of ship. Displays wonderfully and has its own history and glory and what happened with it. The box had full instructions book sheet I enjoyed building the model. I would recommend this model for anyone. Kind regards Richard

It is durable because it is plastic and easy to assembleIt is entertaining because you become the builder and the fitter of all the partsIt is educational because it is true. The ship did exist ,was credited as unsinkable and sank i April 1912.

Thi one is so cool because i like the titanic . Smaller than expected. The model is a bit smaller than i though but great for a 12 year old. Quality of toy was okay. Some parts broke because it was so small and plastic was thin.

Only reason i never gave it 5 stars is its a lot smaller than i thought. Most likley my falt for not reading size right. Wanted a slighty bigger one. But its still ok..very tricky to paint. Need a very steady hand...

The kit was just the right level of difficulty for my 8 yr old grandson. He is a fanatic about the titanic and is building even bigger ones now. Your instructions were easy to follow. Thanks very much.

Still playing with it bad news if l hear that that song from titanic my heart wil go on and on he now wants to no if l can have a drum.kit learn to play titanic song ugh ugh
