I've recently purchased a 5D3 and having used a non oem grip on my 60D I was not too concerned about doing so again as I think Canon's prices for grips are crazy. I got mine from Impulsfoto through Amazon and delivery/packaging was spot on. Although the 5D3 body itself has a comfortable feel about it I find that with a 70-200mm f2.8 zoom attached the grip comes into it's own for me. The additional battery life wasn't much of a reason for me to put one on the 60D body as I have said the improvement of grip and balance was superb and the battery life was a bonus but on the 5D3 I think that in addition to the improved handling I will definately benifit from the extra battery life as I'm findingthat it uses more power than the 60D ever did which I suppose is understandable given the upgrade benifits of the 5D3 over the 60D. The grip fits on to the 5D3 perfectly and the match with the body is just brilliant. I have not used or handled Canons version but I very much doubt that if it matched any better that the difference would be worth the asking price of the Canon version. Mechanically it works perfectly and does all it claims to do. I like the addition of the tray to accept 6 rechargeables (although I don't think I will ever use it) but it's nice all the same to have that option. That tray comes in it's own pouch so it wont damage any other gear in your bag should you decide to carry it around with you. I am a keen amateur and would highly recommend this kit to others but if I was a professional who earned his living from his gear I might decide to go the Canon route and use my tax and vat returns to ease the pain of paying Canon's very high price.

Canon's own BG-E11 costs over £300 so the opportunity to purchase a non-OEM version for £75 including express delivery was too tempting to pass up.I've used third party grips before and the quality has always been very good and this model is no exception. Fit and finish are excellent... The pattern on the rubber panels closely matches that of the camera and the colour is identical. If it wasn't for the join, you could be fooled into thinking it was an integral part of the camera. The on/off switch is in a different location to the genuine Canon version but to my mind, it's better positioned on this model. The battery status screen on the camera shows full information regarding which battery is fitted where; how many shots have been taken and what charge remains in both...This is identical to Canon's own grip. The battery door from the camera clips neatly into the stem thereby ensuring that it won't get lost. The buttons on the grip are solid and well fitted and are very responsive in use with no noticeable lag.I'd have absolutely no problems recommending this grip to anyone. The service from UK Highland Photography was also excellent. The tracking number supplied worked and the estimated time of delivery was spot-on.

Ordered on the 4th August and received on the 7th August. It was well packaged internally (each item in its own bubble wrap, inside a reasonable quality box) and sent in a bubble wrap envelope. Great service from UK Highland Photography. As indicated by others, this is a well made grip/battery pack and fits easily and neatly on the the 5D Mark III. Almost makes the camera feel more comfortable than without it.In addition to the comments of others, the buttons on the battery grip include - on the back - on/off (for the battery grip) and the multi-controller; and, AF On, AE Lock and AF Point selection. On the front (when tipped in to portrait mode) are the shutter release, m-fn and main dial. All are well set out and feel natural in use. Re-viewing pictures in portrate view is a snip as all buttons are within easy reach and even the camera buttons feel more natural.All-in-all a well made, good looking battery grip that is in complete keeping with the appearance, feel and style of the Canon 5D Mk III.Price is exceptional! purchased mine for £71.94 and after using a Canon specific model on a 5D Mk II for 2 years, I am sorry I did not try a replacement model earlier.I would recommend this to all D5 Mk III users.

Great bit of kit but be warned adding a battery grip to your 5D3 is not for weaklings. The camera + kit lens (24-105L) + grip + two batteries weighs in at 2.45Kg and after a few hours shooting your neck and arms know about it. It also means that if you want to leave the grip on all the time you will have to make sure you have a big camera bag as it makes an already large camera in to a huge one.As for the build. I cannot fault it for the price, seems solid enough even if it is not magnesium alloy. Mine works perfectly and fits perfectly in my hand, the texture is grippy and feels good too. All the buttons are there. You'd obviously not be able to take it out in a storm as it will not be weather sealed but frankly I have never felt the urge and if I do I will remove it.I like grips as I like the doubled battery life and I feel it makes the camera much more natural to hold in portrait when shooting. I am also lucky to be a quite robust bloke who can handle the weight and camera size that this grip presents. Just be warned if you have issues carrying a heavy bit of kit then this may not be for you.

I have tried with every camera bodey Ive owned not to use a battery grip but always pale in and get one eventually. Just need that extra bulk to make comfortable in the hand I find. Now I have always always slated anyone who has spent good money on a body who later fits a 3rd party product - why I have said you must be mad!! Well with Canons own brand on the Mk3 costing £300 I think Canon needs their brains feeling and refuse to pay such a ridiculous amount of cash and I dont care thats its made of magnesium. When I saw this product at £70 I thought it might be worth a look, read the reviews here and via google. Concerns were is it cheap and nasty, does it have the battery drain problem?Actually its well built and similar in qulaity to the Mk2 grip - take note Canon. It fits well and blends in nicely with material and colour. No battery drain experienced so far also so one happy customer. Oh and the service and communication from Highland photographic was very good as well :-)

I'm very fussy with my camera equipment and i bought this grip for my Canon 5D Mark 3 after hearing from other users how good it was, however i was expecting a lower quality grip than the original Canon offering which is many times more expensive, having now received it and worked with it i can say the quality is about as good as it gets.I've used Canon grips before on other cameras and can't for the life of me see why they charge what they do now i've got this version. The finish matches the camera perfectly and actually looks like it should be there, it fits the camera snugly and feels perfectly balanced, all the controls are there, in the right place, and work perfectly.I'm over the moon with this grip, and even more so having saved so much over the Canon version. For anybody thinking about buying one, just hit the order button you won't regret it!

I was concerned about this being a third party grip as previously I'd always bought Canon's own accessories.Just received the grip today however, and am very impressed - especially as this is virtually 1/4 the cost of the vastly overpriced Canon one! It's well built (no creaking or wobbling at all once it's screwed into place) and the battery holder feels secure (with a small twist lock holding everything in place). Also worth noting that all functions work correctly for me (including the ISO and exposure that one reviewer mentioned having problems with). All in all, wish I'd bought one of these ages ago now - why on earth would anyone buy the official one?!

Don't bother with the Canon grip (£300), this does exactly the same job, looks no different and is well made. I have previously purchased expensive Canon battery grips and like other reviewers of the Pixel Pro, have got tire of Canon's exorbitant prices. The Pro Vertax looks the same, does the same and is about one fifth of the price. This is an 'early days' review as I haven't used it enough to find any snags, but first test was excellent. No battery drain problems as mentioned by other reviewers.

Product is as described. Used extensively since purchase, full functionality, no fit or communication issues with the camera, good quality, and good value when compared to Canon product. A match for Canon's high standards. I would advise double checking the polarity of AA cells in the second tray supplied, as it is not intuitive (in low light situations). To date this product has exceeded my expectations.

So the Canon version costs £300, this one was a mere snip and has the multi controller replicated on it unlike the Canon one which with the battery grip attached would be pretty hard to use!The main control dial id a tad clunky, but that is easily lived with considering the price. The supplier despatched the item very promptly and was well packaged. This is one happy owner!

Why buy the oryginal if this thing is simply as good as Canon's? I'm serious. Was a bit sceptical until I opened the box - everything here matches the 5D Mark III perfectly, materials, texture, buttons, all of it. If you want//need a grip - get this one and you won't regret it. Plus, you'll save a lot of money for something else, like memory cards.

I am a pro wedding photographer and after spending a good lot of money on 2 x new 5D mkiii's I wanted to save a bit on the battery grips and it's safe to say I've not been disappointed.Solid build, feels well made. Does the job. For this price I don't see the point in forking out for the genuine Canon versions.Be rest assured these are fine!

A good quality sturdy battery pack/grip which works well at an excellent price [far superior to a cheaper grip I purchased elsewhere previously]. Arrived well packaged with immediate dispatch, snow to blame for a one day delay in delivery. Great fit and feel, very happy and recommend to others. Many thanks

Delivery of this product was swift an well packaged. I don't know if it works well or not, since I haven't purchase the camera yet. It looks like it would work as it is a new product. I will further review this item with a video. Item looking good, and a feedback that seems good, overall I am satisfied.

This product is very worthy of a place alongside the 5D m3. It fits the camera superbly and looks as if it really belongs. The style and finish compliment the camera and it handles beautifully. I reccomend this as a very suitable alternative to the much more expensive Canon brand.
