As has been mentioned in previous reviews, this grip has been known to suffer from intermittent power connection, causing my 70D to expire unexpectedly. The immediate cure, in my case, was to eject and reload the battery pack. I spent a while cleaning those terminals as were accessible but the problem persisted.A few weeks after purchase I contacted the retailer, Emgreat, to discuss my options. A guy called Steve almost immediately responded to my query and suggested I could return it for a replacement but also included some imagery of the potential trouble spot connectors that may be causing the issue. Unfortunately these shots were from a different grip model and thus of little use. Nevertheless,I decided to investigate further and cleaned all contacts I could find. I replied to Steve and advised him I would get back to him later if I found no resolution. I never did as I was preoccupied with business. To my surprise and delight an unexpected replacement arrived yesterday, a few months after purchase. It operates flawlessly. This truly is a gesture of good will from the supplier who, after a few months of no contact from myself, elected to deliver a free replacement without my having returned the original - and with no request to do such. This alone deserves a 5-star rating by itself; however, I have restricted my review of the product to 4 because of what appears to be poor quality control that would permit the occasional grip to fail intermittentlyAs to the grip itself ... what can I say. It feels right, it operates perfectly, it has all the OEM Cannon functionality, and it looks the business. The rubberised plastic has a lovely texture inspiring a firm grip. Yes, it does make the 70D a little heavy but that is to be expected with two LP-E6 cells in place. That said, the camera now feels very solid and does inspire confident shooting. At 30-odd quid, you can't complain. A smashing bit of kit from an exceptional supplier.

I purchased this just to see how good it was. The genuine Canon piece is £220, I paid £30 for this unit.It fits, the buttons work, its comfortable to use, & in my case it allows two batteries to be placed into the camera. (I am a hobbyist wildlife photographer, Indian authorities have confiscated loose spare batteries on internal flights, this should hopefully prevent this from happening).Downside, it adds extra bulk & weight to the camera, but then so would the Canon unitAt this price, I suggest to buy it and try for yourself. (A AA battery holder comes with, but I have not tried to see how long these would last in the camera).

Works as expected - and it fits my Canon 80D well. The grip is good and similar to the one on the camera itself. All the buttons working the same way as on the camera. However, I am only giving 4 stars as the battery magazine is a little loose when insert into the grip. Sometimes during a shoot the camera suddenly turns off and back on again. I've found out that when pushing the magazine slightly forward the batteries are losing connection which turns off the camera. Using some white tack (by putting it on that corner so the magazine can't move forward again) has fixed the problem. For this price it's okay.

Fantastic value for the money, feels very solid and robust. Not going to be the same quality as an OEM grip from Canon, but this is £100 cheaper, and is close.Feels much better quality than other non OEM grips I've bought in the past.I Was unsure whether or not to spend the extra and go for a original Canon. In the end I bought this and two extra batteries along with next day delivery for less than half the price of an original.Really makes the camera easier to handle, in landscape as well as portrait modes, adds a nice bit of weight which makes the camera more stable and less prone to shake.

I just received my product today and I am very happy with the design. The grip was easy to hold and the buttons were nicely located for easy access. I was bit worried about purchasing a third party grip but my fears were driven away when I recieved the product. Why would spend so much money for a product that you can use for a third of the price? I personally think that the name brands grip are extremely over priced. This is the first time using a battery grip and I am extremely happy overall. I give this product a 5 star rating.

Huge saving over the official Canon camera grip, but have to admit to being very sceptical at the point of purchasing this item. However it was worth a punt for the price, and I'm happy to report that it's an excellent quality item. No noticeable difference in quality at all from the official product, and I've tested it fully. All the buttons function as they should do, great grip and feel to it in general, and it fits the 70D body perfectly. No hesitations in recommending this product, and it came nicely packaged too.

This grip is an almost exact clone of the Canon version. For the price it represents excellent value for money and works perfectly after a small modification. As others have commented the battery tray is very slightly loose when locked in place and this millimetre gap is enough to break contact meaning that the camera turns off. A very quick fix is to add a folded piece of paper underneath the tray to take up the slack as you slide it in. Works a treat but 1 star knocked off for this.

Very good battery grip works very well.At the moment I have an original battery plus a compatible in it on my Canon 70D camera both show in the battery information screen and are reducing equally.I cannot tell which is which from the info screened.I have not yet tried the two compatibles together but don`t have any fear of them not working. It was a great price and very quick delivery.I have had an original for another Canon camera and noticed no difference all the buttons work too.

I can't get over the quality and feel of this grip, for the price I was expecting something a bit tacky but its really surprisingly well built. It fits well and secures to the camera perfectly. Holds two batteries which show up in the battery section of the camera settings with all their data. I have always bought the genuine Canon battery grips for previous cameras but I'm really glad I took the risk with this. Definitely recommended to anyone considering adding to their camera.

Having now used this for 6 months, I can never go back to having a battery grip. The added size and grip on the camera means my is now incredibly comfortable to hold in both landscape and portrait orientation (I have large hands) and the extra functionality of having the buttons on the grip is invaluable, as is having double the battery life. Yes there's extra weight added to the camera but the positives I've just mentioned completely justify it.

Excellent bit of kit. Works with one or two batteries. All functions work as they should. Not the perfect fit, but honestly not something that is annoying or noticeable. I mention it as the previous grip on the 600D was nigh on perfect, from meike as well. I am very happy with this product. It would be good if they could just link it with the camera power button instead of a separate button, but no big deal.

For the money, brilliant. Looks like your camera equals another £200. The ability to run off AA batteries is a plus. You gat an extra battery tray for this so just go out and buy a few duracell, stick them in the tray and you'll always have a back up power supply. The ON / OFF button on the back only affects the controls on the unit and not the power supply. For extended shooting, it's a great bit of kit.

Absolutely superb given the price. It would have been a bargain at twice this price compared to the Brand version. Be prepared for it to take a little longer from HK but it still arrived quickly. It fits my Canon 70d very well and replicates certain controls. It does not come with any batteries (not at this price) so you will need an extra one to go with the one already supplied with your camera.

I think this is an excellent buy for the price they are asking. I bought one for my new Canon 70D as I'd baulked at the price for a genuine Canon one. This holder fits well and is a good snug fit, it almost matches the rubber grip on my camera and is close enough as makes no difference. It has most of the controls on the base that I would use when taking shots. All in all a great wee buy.

Great quality item, can't see any difference between this and an original canon. Would never buy original item again as they are a complete rip off. Had no problem taking it on or off at all! After sales service is great, got a message asking if i was pleased with the item after receiving it. Box is neat and tidy and shipping packaging is great. Box came in a bubble tube bag.
