This is an essential addition to the Canon EOS 7D MK II and, although adding quite a bit of weight to the camera, makes it more versatile. I had a version of this for my previous Canon camera and I found it made a real difference to how I used the camera. It is early days but already I am feeling the benefit especially as it has the majority of the regularly used controls built in to it.Well worth the high cost? Well it depends upon what you want to use your MK II for and how often but for me it represents a good outlay.

HelloGreat stuff from canon - this is a chunk of power - get two batteries in it and it will fire away. Very comfortable to hold in portrait shoot - but practice where the button are before setting out on a shoot. Also it does actually look well pro when you have it strapped to you - blackrapid 'sling' works a treat big time - get the grip to stay full on charged, it does make a huge difference.Goodbye

Excellent if you have one of those all day shoots and don't have time to change your battery! Very handy for portrait shots if you have trouble reaching the buttons over the camera. It does make your camera heavier and bulkier but until canon put another set of buttons on the camera for portrait use and battery lifetimes improves this is the best we can do for now.

Good quality grip as you would expect. Aids handling especially for vertical shooting obviously although buttons placed differently from on cameral body. Two batteries extends useful shooting time and both report their status to the camera menu. Expensive but feels great in use.

I bought this to replace an old "non-branded" battery hand grip. I'm glad I did - this OEM grip isn't draining my batteries anymore while my camera isn't being used.The controls on it also match the size and feel of the 7D M2's for obvious reasons...

Very well-built, this is easily worth the extra money over and above generic solutions. Fits well to the D7 and gives you great ergonomics for shooting portrait - plus additional controls. Worth the money.

Nothing special, other than it does what you expect it do. Solid build build, and camera feels more sturdy in the hand.

TRIED OTHER GRIPS IN PAST NOT GOOD IN THE LONG TERN . CANON GRIP IS PERFECT , AND SAVES ON BATTERY POWER TO BOOT.

Love this battery grip, with the extra battery you can shoot all day without worrying about running out of power.

You get what you pay for this is a quality grip no point having a great camera with a cheep grip.
