The BG-E22 battery grip for the Canon EOS R camera is very different from ones used for the 5 series cameras. Apart from the batteries being loaded en-echelon there is the possibility of recharging the batteries via the enclosed battery charger. You might need to use the lead that Canon supply with their camera because the one for this grip is a two pin plug that connects to the usual 8 socket of the grip's charger.There is no mistaking the fact that the grip makes the camera system heavier and feels a lot heavier. This is not helped if you are using an R adapter or one of Canon's heavy RF lenses.

The battery grip completes my EOS R, it functions excellently and makes taking photos in portrait mode easy and is comfortable to hold.
