Great grip, more comfortable than the BG-E7 which I have on my 7D - it feels a bit less square and a bit more slender. The scalloped out thumb space is nicely done, even better than on the body of the camera itself.Build is as you'd expect and the reason why I chose this over a third party grip. It is solid, it doesn't flex and the buttons all feel the same as they are on the camera.I've encountered third party grips which have a sticky, part-time shutter buttons; this would be most unacceptable if I missed the moment a bride was tossing a bouquet or missed the confetti shot because I'd cheaped out to save £100 on a grip.I wind the grip pretty hand-tight into the camera because I use a Black Rapid strap which mounts to the camera at the battery grip's tripod mount.I don't want to risk the mounting thread on the grip shearing off due to overtightnening, that would mean the camera, lens and (if fitted) flashgun all hit the ground. it would also mean the thread was stuck in the camera and would probably be a nightmare to retrieve (ever cross threaded a spark plug and the mechanic has to drill it out and helicoil the block of the car...?)The battery tray is a bit different, with a interesting lock to shut it all in. Not an issue, just different to BG-E7!The on/off switch is on the back of the camera now, good place to put it.I've given this grip a 4 out of 5 because of the price. I've waited for the grip to come down to a price which is similar to other Canon battery grips but the price isn't dropping that quickly. I paid £170 for mine in August 2013, an improvement on the £199 most places wanted a couple of months ago (June 2013).To summarise - forget the cheap grips for the sake of your expensive 6D and full frame lenses. No one ever regretted buying quality.

A bit pricey...I haven't tried the cheaper non branded battery grips, because I was spending so much money on the Canon 6D. I didn't want to spoil the overall feel of the camera with unbranded stuff. So the grip does what it says on the package, and it feels like it is just one body, so the surface and the grip feel exactly the same as the camera body.

Didn't even consider buying a 3rd party, generic make, why after spending nearly £2000 on a camera and lens, should you cut costs with a cheap grip? The Canon one looks and feels good, it works as it should and yes it is expensive, but so is the rest of my equipment. Only fits the 6D not the Mark 2.

Its a battery grip, attached easily and quickly.Supplied with two battery trays, one holds two of Canons LP-E6, the other holds 6AA batteries. They don't last all that long but its good for that last hour or two at a shoot.Does what it says on the tin.Does what you think it does.Very happy.

Very good quality battery grip as it should be at the price. Canon charge far too much for these sort of items.I could have got four third party battery grips for this price and they are also very good anyway it`s the only one I should need and I did want to get original Canon items.
