I wouldn't say I had large hands, but I do find my little finger tends to tuck under my X-T1 due to the short height of the camera body. The battery grip helps my hand get better purchase on the camera and it helps for vertical shots, but the biggest benefit is the additional battery it can house. It almost seems like there should be enough room for two batteries, but one if better than none. The X-T1 battery indicator isn't the most precise thing in the world. Much like the X-Pro 1 and X100S, in my experience, once the battery meter indicates less than full then practically you should be looking to swap in a fresh battery fairly soon otherwise the camera might switch off at an inopportune moment. With the X-T1 battery grip, you get another battery meter displayed to represent the status of the battery in the grip. Sensibly, it's the grip's battery which is used first as you can't access the camera's battery without removing the grip from the body. With a second battery in the body, you can safely continue to use the grip battery until it registers as completely flat knowing that the X-T1 will continue to be fed from the internal battery. In my experience, this means I get more than double the battery life from having a second battery in the grip. The button controls on the grip are similar to those on the body although the positioning isn't replicated so it takes a bit of getting used to. Also, like on the body, they're not the easiest buttons to press (but can be hacked with Sugru). Unlike the battery grip I have for my Nikon D700, the X-T1 battery grip doesn't feature a 4-way control so if you have to continue to use the one on body which can be a pain if it's something you find yourself doing often e.g. for moving the AF point. All in all, it's a decent product which makes vertical shooting much more comfortable and extends usage times, but wish the controls were better thought out.

I got this to add a bit more height to the X-T1 body as the body itself felt a little small in my hands. This grip fixes that and I find it much easier to hold the camera with the grip attached. As a bonus I get to put an additional battery in the grip which is always handy as I find the battery life on all types of Compact System Cameras to be poor, so extra battery life really helps. When an extra battery is inserted you get a 2nd battery life indicator appearing on the display.Another benefit is the additional buttons that come in handy when shooting in portrait orientation. These work well but the feel of the shutter button is not quite the same as on the main body, feels a bit more plasticky, but it works. There is also a lock switch for the extra shutter release if you find yourself pressing it accidentally. I haven't had this issue yet, so left mine unlocked so far.It is well made and well thought-out, it has a slot to store the rubber terminal cover from the bottom of the camera and also another strap mounting point if you shoot more portrait than landscape.I'm very happy with the grip but it did mean that I also had to look for a slightly larger camera bag as I wanted to leave the grip on all the time and I didn't like how it sat in my current bag. Ended up going for a Crumpler Jackpack 7500 which is the perfect depth (front to back) to store the X-T1 with the grip attached.

Bought to fit on newly purchased Fujifilm X-T1, as adds more support to handling for mens hands and increases battery duration. Seems to work OK, although battery compartment hinged cover could be broken if handled roughly. So far use of cheap immitation batteries has been unsuccesful, but suspect fault is with the battery and not this grip. In use, the battery in the grip is used first, and when exhausted, the battery in the camera body is activated.

A perfect battery grip for the Fujifilm X-T1. It takes an additional battery and has all AEL, AFL and Focus Assist buttons plus shutter button for taking shots in portrait orientation. The extra weight better balances the camera for telephoto zoom lenses.

Bought as I thought I would need it but the grip on the Fuji is fine so it's an added extra. Looks good, works well and was a great price as second hand prices are not much less than the new price from Amazon.

Ok it's not cheap but aGood fit and all the function buttons work as they shouldMakes the camera cannier and also seems to improve balance especially with the long lens I useHighly recommend this

This grip makes the Fujifilm X-T1 easier to handle and gives the opportunity to add a second battery for prolonged shooting. I would wholeheartedly recommend the grip.

Second hand but looked new - Great unit - really makes the XT1 far more usable on big shoots on the mountain.

A must have for the XT1... balances the camera when using longer lens and easy battery change.

Great engineering. Typical Fujifilm X quality. Gives excellent balance to the X T-1
