Ive bought battery grips for all the nikon cameras I've owned over the years (apart from the pro bodies of course, they don't need them!) And I've always found them an invaluable add on. Mainly because it allows me to use aa batteries which are easily and readily available. The fit and finish is an exact match with the camera body, verrrry slight movement but really you'd have to be a pedant for it to bother you. A good thing about the d600 or any other "prosumer" body ( I hate that word. I use my d600 professionally and it is more than capable of delivering the goods. Great camera) is that with the grip removed you've got a nice light and compact body, its a modular system. With the grip attached you obviously gain weight and bulk but its not dramatically heavier. All the function buttons are customisable like on the body, and you can even assign the batteries in the grip to be used first. I found my 2000mah duracell rechargeable batteries lasted me one or two sessions, thats around 500 raw files. You can leave the standard camera battery inside the body and use it as a kind of reserve. I haven't had to resort to it yet though. As with all nikon stuff its very well made. It's expensive but its a tool so I can't really skimp on it. If you're considering an after market unit just remember folks buy cheap buy twice. Don't mess about you bought yourself a great body don't skimp now! Yes I know its overpriced but really, it won't damage your camera and it'll always work. My stuff gets A LOT of work and I only review things I think are good. This is a fine bit of equipment. Thanks folks!

I've been contemplating this one for a while, wondering whether i wanted to pay this sort of money for a power pack. I decided to go for it after reading review after review. My conclusion after buying it, using it, is that It's worth paying the money for! It has a solid feel, well made and fits securely on the camera with no movement whatsoever (contrary to a review i read), controls are well placed, i found them suitable and got used to them immediately, it's really easy to use. With this unit i now find the camera a better fit to my hands, (those who have big hands would be pleased with this) i have a more secure hold on my camera. On the whole the camera is a little bit heavier,(which maybe an issue for some) but that is only really more noticeable if your using AA batteries, otherwise the standard battery keeps the weight down making it much better and more manageable (Its come with attachments to use both which is really handy, a carry case is supplied to put whichever one your not using in. The shutter release is very light and easily triggered, so light depressing of it is required for focusing. The camera feels well balanced specially when using bigger lenses. what more can i say other than buy one! I bought mine in Bristol (I live in London and couldn't find one, the major shops didn't have any in stock hence a 100+ mile trip! A day out basically :), Pick one up while they are at a good price, RRP is much higher.

I have owned quite a few Nikon SLRs. I have become fond of their build quality and love their form factors. The thing is that the Nikon D610 Digital SLR Camera (24.3MP) 3.2 inch LCD - a brilliant DSLR - is somewhat hampered by being a little small. I found it quite uncomfortable after the Nikon D300 Body Only somewhat spoilt me. So enter the MB-D14.I am quite impressed by the grip. It is a good bit of kit and allows the use of an extra Nikon EN-EL15 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery for Nikon 1 V1, D800 and D7000 battery or 6AA batteries. The connection between the camera and grip is unfortunately not as good as the Nikon MB-D10 Battery Pack for D300 & D700 for the D300 because it is just a little loose between near the shutter button and the body. Not worryingly so, but you can move the grip away from the body when using a little force. Although this shouldn't bother most it does make me ever so slightly nervous when using lenses larger than a 70-200 2.8.On the whole though this is a very good bit of kit and allows a lot more flexibility and makes the D600 far more useful as well as more comfortable.Despite not seeming as solid as the MB-D10 it is still a very good bit of kit.

Love the handling the grip imparts to the camera. Hate the fact that the camera needs it. Not a great fan of grips on camera bodies but found the D610 just that tad too small and cramped to handle well on its own. Equivalent Canon bodies are wider and handle well, but Nikon seem to be intent on making their bodies narrower these days. I expect this impression will not apply to everyone; it obviously depends on the size of your hands. However, for what it is, the grip is solid and well made. If you need it, I think it is best to bite the bullet and spend out on the official Nikon grip rather than spend good money on a "it may be ok" third party copy. Bumps up the cost of the camera though.Ouch!

After trying a cheap copy of this product and have it fail on the first time I used it, I decided to bite the bullet and buy the genuine Nikon item. I was all set to pay for a brand-new one when I spotted this unit for sale at two thirds the price. It arrived very quickly, and I was pleasantly surprised when I open the box to find not just the unit but all the accessories, manuals, and leads that were originally supplied. The unit was in better condition than described and, having used it out in the landscape on half a dozen occasions, works faultlessly. Overall I'm very satisfied not only with the unit itself but with the service provided by the seller.

I only bought this pack for extra battery power for a remote trip for wildlife photography but now realise how much better my camera handles. I use a Nikon 610, which is quite weighty, especially with a telephoto lens, but this addition, though increasing weight, gives a much better balance and significantly better handling for portrait shots. The additional grip controls just add to the experience. I use it all of the time now. Low battery is no problem at all now

2.1.2014

I brought a cheaper battery grip off eBay for my nikon D610 because these nikon genuine grips are so expensive, but fast realised that the non nikon parts are just going to ruin my D610 so relented and brought the Nikon should have bought it in the first place fits exactly as it should where the other make wasn't a good fit also within minutes the eBay model was not workingproperly., so save your money and buy nikon original battery grips.

great attachment to my d600. it feels solid and well built and matches the feel and materials of my camera well. it feels comfortable to hold but does add extra weight to an already weighty camera and lens. i havn't used it for long periods yet but so far i love it.

Much more expensive than imitations but this is a SUPERIOR product.Experience has taught me to go for the proper product - in many cases where I decided to buy a cheaper imitation I then had to throw that away and buy the real thing.

As the title. Got the genuine one as I saved money from buying the body overseas and read a few reviews of the best of the fakes and many had issues. Genuine Nikon Europe item = good warranty service.

25.2.2013

A good bit of kit, besides the extra power it gives you a good handhold and an extra fire button. And it's really well made.

11.12.2014

Does exactly what I need it to and am impressed by its sturdiness hardly ever remove it from the camera now!

2.4.2015

I knew that nikon products are the best. I dont want to take the risk to buy third party.
