I bought this phone 4 days ago after my Windows phone was losing support it was time to switch and after looking around for all different phones I found this and after hearing such good things and then seeing images of how the phone looked i instantly feel in love with it like I could just see myself having this phone it just looked so nice and with such positive things I heard it won me over and I will admit at first when I looked into it's specs i started to get a bit worried specially with the 4 gig of ram due to past experience with android for me where I've had phones in the past that slow down to the point of unusable and a habit of apps running in the background automatically withoutme knowing but with this so far hasn't happened at all and when I close apps they stay close and it runs insanely smoothly I'm not sure if android has patched them issues I experienced in the past or not but it seems like that is the case which is a big thumbs up from me I'm honestly shocked on how well this phone runs it is absolutely fantastic I heard that google optimize apps for their own android phones and it clearly shows it seems very well optimized which guess is to make up for the 4 gig of ram which also shows with the limited storage which is 64 gigs which is alright perfectly enough for some apps music and photo's videos etc but with how much memory apps and such take up nowadays it could go rather quick but to make up for this they give you unlimited storage on their photo cloud service so you can save photos and videos on the cloud without a memory limit which is a big thumbs up and 3 month subscription to there Youtube music which is your everyday music streaming services so that's a nice little bonus to I do wish it had a memory card slot but this is just me nick picking and as most people use streaming services nowadays anyway, so I understand why they didn't add it, but we do have a headphone jack and honestly this is very greatly appreciated as not many phones have this anymore which is a shame as a lot of people much like myself cannot afford Bluetooth headphones or specific brands so this is a very nice add in my opinion with how well this phone runs and how well optimized it is you honestly wouldn't believe it to be a mid range budget phone it is a fantastic not only is it smooth it also has a very nice display vibrant and colors really stand out on top of a pretty good speakers and a battery life where I've had it going for over a day and still start the next day with some power left over granted it will depend on how much use you give it i have been using mine for most of the day with Youtube and the music app so this could be different from each person for me the battery is pretty good for what it is on a plus you also get fast charge which can get the phone fully charged in about 20 or so minutes rather than an hour which is also a very nice bonus specially if you are in a rush and need to keep your're phone on you and powered at all times and now I talk about the phones' camera which is honestly one of the best cameras on a phone I have ever used it is high end powerful camera it is sharp clear as crystal and with the plus of HDR to truly show the colors and details on top of being able to record videos at a 4k resolution or at 1080p at 60fps on top of being able to take pictures in the dark to see them come out showing everything in detail it is truly something not to miss up specially if you're a fan of taking photos or recording videos. In all what can I say you get a phone that is well optimized smooth experience an amazing one of a kind phone camera clean android with no bloatware constant updates and support with the latest android OS unlimited storage for photos and videos on cloud headphone jack fast charge honestly if you want a phone just for your daily needs browsing the internet calls, text music photos etc and maybe some mid tier / low tier gaming then this is perfect phone for you if you are one of them people that use heavy-duty apps and or heavy gaming and uses a lot of space and ram then id say get something with a bit more storage and power but for basics and some mid tier usage app usage etc this is perfect and for a great price couldn't recommend this phone enough an amazing little phone and an underrated one at that to.

There are many things about this phone that I really like. Firstly it being a Google Phone the handset will receive the important Android and security updates first. In addition Google has confirmed that Pixel 3a phones will receive Android updates until 2022 so I am covered in that respect for a while.Google do not load their handsets with bloatware, in other words various software and apps that some companies think you might need or should have on your phone which may slow it down but almost certainly be a resource hog requiring constant updates.I don't like large screens and at 5.6ins this is perfect for me. The handset has a nice weight to it and feels very nice in the hand.Google Assistant works well although I have turned this off as it is a feature I will not use. In fact the first thing I do whilst setting up my phone is delete those apps that I will not use so that there aren't any unnecessary apps running and updating. If you have read reviews of this phone then you will know that the camera is the highlight and it doesn't disappoint. Specifically the portrait mode is an excellent feature where two photos are taken and one of them focuses on the centre object / person and blurs out the surrounding / background area to good effect. With 4GB of RAM the phone is nippy and after coming from a slower 2GB RAM phone the difference is clear. There are the usual plethora of features that you can tailor to your hearts desire and the fingerprint scanner works well. One small feature I really liked is when a phonecall is coming in and it is from a number not in my address book, sometimes the phone will state the company name who is calling rather that just stating the phone number which is a huge help with you knowing who it is.The phone also offers Wifi calling if your network supports this as well as NFC and Cast so that you can mirror what is on the phone screen to another display that supports this such as a tv. The phone has 64GB of storage built in which is enough for me, naturally like all storage this is party used up by the preinstalled software and apps. I have connected my bluetooth headphones with the Pixel 3a and they work perfectly. There are also Digital Wellbeing tools for those that like to keep an eye on usage. and the phone does have a fast charge.Like so many reviews both consumer and on tech sites have said this is an impressive phone that is better in so many ways than handsets that are more expensive. It is an impressive bit of tech !

I'm only discussing in detail the camera of the Pixel 3a because it is a perfectly good phone which does all the usual things any smartphone does, and despite being slightly cut down from the Pixel 3, 3xl or 4 it still operates smoothly, effortlessly, has a decent screen, good sound and everything an iphone has but at a third or even quarter of the price. It is the camera that sets this phone apart. It is absolutely stunning. The only thing it lacks compared with higher spec Pixels is the super wide virtual lens mode, but this is easily overcome by doing a panoramic shot adjustable from slighly wide to a full 180+degrees. You'll get a slightly cropped vertical but it is perfectly usable and by the way panoramic mode has the best, most flawless stitching I have seen on ANY camera, including full frame and APS-C devices.Comparing several interior shots of, say flowers or other objects, with similar photos on my Micro Four Thirds camera and another mid range DSLR, carefully setup with perfect focus and preparation, the Pixel 3a consistently produced sharper, more vibrant pictures. What was surprising is that even looking at 100% crops the Pixel showed still sharper images with significantly less noise and virtually no loss of sharpness. The night mode is equally brilliant and knocked my other cameras for six. I took a panoramic shot of my house and garden half an hour after senset. There was barely any light yet the image was bright, focused and vibrant. While the stock images are a little over-vivid and perhaps too rich to be believed, it is a doddle to edit them in phone to reduce exposure, white balance, colour, highlights, shadows, blacks and whites. This editing is so good that it almost replaces any need to import its optional RAW images into Lightroom or a similar editor. The brutal fact is that this camera quite easily out guns my other conventional cameras in every respect apart from optical zoom and video, although even the video quality and stabilisation gets quite close. This camera phone is eminently useable for anything from travel, to portraits to street and landscapes. It won't exceed the quality of a top level APS-C camera or full frame, but it will make any point and shoot with a 1 inch or consumer-level small sensor redundant unless you require high zoom levels for say wildlife, action sports or other zoom-dependent, burst modes. No other camera phone comes close at the current price of £299. Highly Recommended.

Can't rate this phone enough. Spent the last 2 weeks tearing through reviews of just about every phone available, finally settled on the 3a and could not be happier. Firstly delivery was ultra rapid, came next day when I wasn't expecting it for at least 3. Bought "used - like new" and apart from the box having been opened once before it was completely untouched and spotless. The phone itself is beautiful. Great size, with a tall, slim screen. Coming from a 5.65" honor 9 lite and wanting something a similar size, this was perfect. Great balance between easy handling and a sizeable screen. Despite being a polycarbonate body, the phone has a nice weight to it and feels like a well engineered bit of kit.Don't even notice it's not all metal and glass like the flagships. The phone was a breeze to set up, box comes with everything you need, including an adapter to plug your old phone onto the 3a to transfer files, which was quick and handy. The UI is intuitive and responsive, took a brief moment to get familiar with where everything was but that's to be expected. Screen display is nice and bright with great colour. Ample storage space for my needs (coming from 32gb to 64gb is a dream: obviously 128gb would be nice but realistically ill never need it all). And finally the camera, which is undoubtedly the best camera in this price range, and without shelling out for an iPhone 11 I doubt you'll bet better pictures on any other phone. Night sight is an absolute mind melter as well, crazy how easily you can take fantastic low light shots. All in all this seems like a great phone and satisfies exactly what I wanted off a new handset, great camera, decent battery and processing, modest storage, sleek design, and well engineered OS/UI that'll continue to be updated in the coming years. Can't recommend this enough especially for the price you can get it at now

I'm your average user, I just want a phone that does the job. That being said, decent specs for such a low price (compared to the many £700+ phones now on the market).• the camera is SUPERB, and Night Sight works like a charm.• Google Assistant doesn't have as nice a voice as Siri but picks up my voice well and responds just as well if not better(you can change the accent but there is only one British one, the rest are all US and there is one Australian accent). In particular I like the 'routine' feature (I have it set up so that when I say "good morning" GA will tell me the weather, any traffic on my commute, and will play BBC news headlines).I also find that "hey Google"/"ok Google" is picked up much better than "hey Siri" ever was on my iPhone 6s.If you ask GA to play a song it will allow you to play off any music app, unlike Siri which will only play apple music.•Phone does have a plastic back so feels a little cheaper than my previous iPhone 6s, but this doesn't bother me especially as I have a case and a glass screen protector on it anyways.•Isnt as slick as your typical iPhone but is never slow or buggy, and the fingerprint scanner works just as well if not better.Maybe it's because I'm not exactly a pro at reviewing phones, but I see little to no difference in performance between this and many higher end phones; you'd have to have a sheet with the specs in front of you to notice anything.I'm on 9GB, unlimited texts and minutes for £29 a month and the exact same contract with an iPhone 8 was £45. I wouldn't be able to tell you what I'd be paying more for.Thoroughly impressed! Have some photos of my cat. Didn't use night sight in the second pic but it still picked him up pretty easily.

I used to work at CEX so I've had the opportunity to play with many different phones and it's made me super picky.I have to say though, there's barely anything at all for me to complain about with the Pixel 3a.The camera is one of the best on the market despite being a fairly budget phone. Its fairly compact whilst not being tiny so it's great for one handed phone users like myself, whilst still being decent for two handed typing. It's USB C so it charges and transfers at decent speed. I get about a day and a half usage out of it (rooted, stock firmware). It has a headphone jack.It also has decent custom rom support and can be rooted/unrooted pretty easily. If you have issues,it's also possible to go back to stock without any lingering telltale signs. The only issues I have at all with the phone is that it doesn't support multiple sim cards. I have one sim for work and one for personal use and switching sim cards is a pain especially if you have a case. The cases available are pretty generic and poor overall, with the exception of Googles own pixel case which is expensive (currently £30). The slightly curved screen also means screen protectors can be a pain but some are fine. When others are bragging about having 3 or 4 cameras, it's nice to just take a better picture with a single one lol. The images rival my older Canon dslr.I would buy this phone again right now if I had the money back and needed a phone.

I was a little skeptical buying this phone due to the low price. But read other reviews and bought it and have to say it's quality through and through. The camera, especially with night sight, is the highlight. Fingerprint sensor works like a charm. Doesn't lag and doesn't heat up even while playing games like pubg, cod, asphalt. The clean software is a blessing in this age of bloated ones. The body is plastic but feels nice to hold. The audio quality from the stereo speakers is very very good as well.Just 2 negatives imo. First is the screen brightness. As you keep using the phone, you'll just wish the screen was a bit brighter than it can be in some situations. Second is the battery.Maybe it's just me cause I'm coming from a Zenfone max, and that spoiled me with a 5000 mAh battery. Even with heavy use i had to charge it once a day. This one I have to charge 2 times during off days since the phone usage is more. Though the charging speed is lightning quick. As you might have seen from the pictures, I also purchased a spigen case for it which is highly recommended for to the attention given to small details. For example, the hole for the charging port is large enough for the charging point shoulder to pop in flush. And the fact that it's not made in China might be a plus point to some. (South Korea, in case you're wondering)

For the last 12 months I had the Pixel 2XL which was a nice phone. Got this as it was £349 (Argos) wanted a 2nd phone for personal. So I looked into dual Sims and the esim is the new technology that will probably be installed on all new phones going forward.Set up: I have an EE esim (qr code) and a physical SIM card on three UK. Both numbers work side by side make calls texts on either one and select what SIM you want to be main one for data. Or you can change with a tap of SW either way it's very easy. The esim has the option to be turned off so if you don't want to be contacted you can turn it off with a tap. While the physical SIM will now become the main. You can tag each SIM with your own name, work personal etc and also set a colour. When calling and receiving calls it show's you what SIM they are calling on and or what SIM you are going to make the call on. SMS is the same you have the option what SIM to select. Call history also shows what SIM was used to make / received calls.WiFi calling is the same you have the option per SIM if you want this toggled on or off you have the choice. Google have done a great job here and for the price this phone is right up there. No need to spend thousands on a phone when this phone can do it just as good if not better.

I've had this phone in my hands for around 10 days now and I am really impressed by it. I was intrigued by the phones packing as it is near identical to that of the iPhones that I set up a few years ago. Then I found that the Pixel 3A is just as easy to set up from your old phone. Two important tips: first back up your old phone (watch out for apps like Microsoft Authenticator and any password manager as these will probably have their special back up routines); do not remove your SIM from your old phone until the transfer/set up process is complete. The Pixel phone comes with a USB C lead and an adaptor to connect up to the USB port on your old phone. It's all there as part of the standard package. It took me a few days to get used to the different user interface but it has not been a great problem. Google Assistant is nicely implemented (you just give your phone a gentle squeeze to activate it) .I was very impressed the first time I activated it in a coffee shop with music playing and got what I wanted the first time I said "phone home". The phone works well with a NFC Yubikey, the NFC sensor appears to be in the top right quadrant of the phone. I am really impressed with what this phone is capable of and reckon it to be great value for money.

My previous phone was a OnePlus 2 which served me well from December 2015 to January 2020. However, the poor camera made me face the decision to fork out for a new phone. As good as they are the OnePlus phones, I decided to go back to Google's own having had a Nexus 4 previously (which was very good apart from it switching itself off now and again). So far I'm finding the pixel 3a very good. The camera is a class above - which is the main reason I went for it. The most surprising thing is the battery is good. You read lots of reviews saying that the 3000mA battery life is poor and only lasts a day at best...well I disagree. The battery is lasting far longer than one day with moderate use.The only minor complaints are the keyboard as it seems to be over sensitive and have to delete and retype frequently- also I can't seem to get used to the fingerprint scanner being on the back....but it's nitpicking on what is a truly excellent phone for £309 (at the time). I also have an iPhone 7 from work and can confirm it is inferior to the pixel 3a.I'm not sure why anybody would want to spend £700+ on a phone.. What else can it do? Have more apps open? Why? More disk space? If you're storing more than 64gb are you sure you really need to?

I bought this phone as I had read many positive reviews! I was going to buy a pixel 4, but the reviews swayed my decision to buy the pixel 4. The phone is basic and simple to use, not too many bells and whistles. However , it does have lots of nifty handy features. The camera is superb ? I like to take lots of photos - the colours, lighting, contrast and definition are excellent, the pictures look real and not over processed, detail is excellent too! I don't need ultra wide lenses as it's how one takes a photo , not necessarily the type of phone cameras one has - lighting, subject matter , composition. I find the phone to be smooth and fast , yeah it doesn't have the latest processor which people seem obsessed with nowadays. The body of the phone is plastic / polycarbonate , but it doesn't feel remarkably different to my glass backed pixel 2 ( both phones are in protective cases anyway ) the pixel 3a has a nice quality feel to it . The main thing it the pixel 3a does its job well, it's tidy and functional, with an excellent camera . The screen is very good, colours nice, no issue with brightness. , Sound quality good too! I researched phones before buying this and the pixel 3a ticked all the boxes !

I've had the Pixel 3a for about a month now and I love it.The battery life is exceptional and I love the addition of an estimated time for battery life (currently showing battery until 09:45 tomorrow). I tend to use the phone a lot for note taking, photos and some video watching and it's just superb, usually lasting well into the next day.The fast charge is also handy and makes charging very quick and easy in the morning.Photos are wonderful. Having come from an Iphone 6s the difference is extraordinary. It may not have the three lenses and wide angle of some of the other phones but it is still producing some wonderful shots.Over all I would highly recommend the phone and for the current priceof £299 there is nothing close in my opinion.

Just got this phone on contract, I had the pixel 1 for a long time. The pixel 3A does not have the best specs but having put all of my apps on it it still feels speedy I have hit no problems. The so-called premium feature he is on about it is crap. Google do not have premium features except in Android. Certain apps to have subscriptions. These so-called directions button in your contacts works perfectly on my phone as does navigate to (name)Frankly the only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that inclusive research the specs of the pixel 1 and not that far behind this. I did expect a bit more of a hardware upgrade. And I'm not too pleased that it is not water resistant anymore.

Google's pixel is a superb choice for the money, it's got very latest Android (10 at time of writing) and three years of guaranteed updates with many features other phones won't get. Stunning camera with Google's Night Sight, 4k video and one of the most colour accurate screens on a mobile device. Battery superb. Power is there for gaming and editing. I've changed the menus etc with Microsoft launcher to get rid of search bar and stuff I won't use. Very happy with the phone, glad I went for it.

Bought this phone as a quick replacement and I didn't want to spend too much. The Pixel 3a is a fabulous mid priced phone. The performance is good, the camera's are fantastic and the battery is decent (although for my usage I need to charge once a day as I'm a heavy media viewer) The screen is clear, bright and responsive so no issues there. The best bit for me is the monthly updates provided by Google to keep the phone to the latest and greatest standard. Excellent Phone - great buy.
