Having used the Multigroom 5000 for a couple of weeks, I've found it almost faultless.Upon opening the packaging, I found the trimmer itself to look smaller than expected. This was certainly closer in size to a body hair trimmer than a traditional hair clipper.After giving the device a full charge, I switched it on to find it almost silent. There were minimal vibrations felt through the body/handle of the device while ti was running, too.I thought I'd give it a full workout as a beard trimmer first, so I used a comb guard first off. My facial hair was a little longer than usual as I'd left it to grow while I was waiting for the device to arrive. The blades worked silently and made light work of the extra growth.I used the narrower trimmer attachment to edge in around my goatee - this gave a very clean and precise finish and thanks to the compact size of the beard trimmer attachment, was very easy to see in the mirror. Finally, I used the close shave attachment to finish off the upper cheek areas to avoid any stubble higher up. This was a very close shave in only a single pass and left no irritation. I don't have particularly bushy eyebrows or any nose hair to speak of, but in the interest of a thorough test, I gave the little-graduated comb a quick buzz over my brows and the nostril trimmer a quick test. Both worked as expected, but maybe I wasn't hairy enough in those areas to really test it.Like any modern man, I prefer to keep maintained elsewhere, too. I used the trimmer to clean up the stomach area and then downstairs. This is always a daunting process, but the quietness of the motor and lack of vibrations in the handle made it less nerve-wracking than some previous experiences with other trimmers.Finally, I decided to give it a real test. I've got a pretty thick head of hair, and it was slightly overgrown. I'm not as talented as my barber, so I went for a simple fade on the sides, leaving the length on the top alone. The individual guards don't have traditional guard numbers on them, so I had to consult to check what the size in mm actually meant. Despite the quietness, the little motor clearly packs a punch. The trimmer made light work of my overgrown sides with the longer comb, so I stepped down to shorten the lower areas, then again to the shortest hair comb.Although the trimmer made light work of my hair, I get the impression that it's a beard/body trimmer first, but just happens to do a pretty good job of my hair. The comb attachments don't include a left/right taper comb, so doing the area around your ears in the mirror is tricky work.It was a pleasant surprise that I could do all of this on a single charge, too. I've found subsequent uses, where I'm just using it on my beard/body, I can get multiple uses out of a single charge.All in all, I'm very impressed. The Multi-Groom 5000 is flawless as a beard trimmer and as a body trimmer. Although it won't replace my barber, it should slightly extend the length of time I can go between visits by allowing me to keep my hair trimmed with relative ease. I received this product and was immediately impressed with the presentation, the box was well constructed and the product was arranged nicely inside. I particularly liked the inclusion of a storage bag for the various accessories and trimming heads as in the past with previous shavers these have often gone missing.When trying out the product for the first time i did find it a little difficult to remove the head to replace it with a different one as i thought i might be breaking it. Perhaps the instructions on how to do this could have been clearer but after the initial struggle changing heads is easy.I love the variety of options available as it allows me to style all my body hair with a single tool.Previously i would just have to guess at lengths i wanted and either ended up with an uneven trim or having to resort to removing it all. A small criticism is that as a relatively hairy man I find that the body comb isn't long enough to do my armpits and would cut it too short. Therefore i have to revert to the aforementioned method of judging by eye which is never as good. That said it does my face and body really well, with speed and minimal nicks. The precision element enables me to get a defined edge which is really important when trying to create designer stubble or even a short beard.The nose and ear attachment is a nice to have but i haven't actually used them yet.Furthermore the fact that it is fully waterproof is a huge plus as it means i can use it in the shower when my skin is soft and also it removes the need to clear up hairs from the basin which my other half is thrilled about!Overall i would give the product 5* based on the RRP. Its simple, easy to use and has a great battery life. It cuts closely for an electric trimmer and can be used in a variety of situations. This is a good, functional and also good looking groomer!Overall design works well. It looks good and it fits nicely in your hand and is light and therefore easy to use.The performance of the blade works well, it feels like a high quality blade that doesn't look like its going to get blunt or fail any time soon. The motor is quiet compared to other shavers/groomers I've used in the past, which is a plus for first thing in the morning. The groomer doesn't pick up hairs as well as some of the others do, however going over it again usually picks up the few that it may have left behind. The groomer comes with a few different attachments;Size clips:These are colour coded, helps to remember the size ranges for each colour,and therefore which part of the body you use it for. Although having multiple size guides can be a little irritating, one of the size guides is an adjustable 3-7mm Which suits me for most so that i don't have to keep swapping the head, and there is a little carry pouch included to keep the rest together. There is also a smaller blade included, about roughly a quarter of the width of the standard blade. This is very useful for shaping any beards/stubble.Other attachments included a nose hair trimmer, which works well too, and also a shaving head. The shaving head wont give you a very close shave like you'd expect form a standard shaver, however this was never intended to replace it, and because of its small size, this again is useful for keeping stubble shaped.The groomer can be rinsed under the tap, which is far easier to keep clean than previous models which you've not been able to. I've used a Phillips Multigroom for years; I don't even remember when I bought my previous one as I've had it so long. It does everything I need it to and is incredibly easy to use, and this new revision of the product is no different in its excellent quality, but with a few significant upgrades. The new rubberized coating on the handle makes it much easier to handle when wet, helpful when you want to freshen up your look after a shower. The additional head attachments that come with this new model make tricky beard grooming a synch, and it even comes with a smaller additonal shaver head attachment that will help get those important lines without risking taking too much of your precious growth off.In addition, the variety of shaver attachments allow for a high degree of customization for both length and style. In short, this is the same great product that Phillips has been putting out for years, but with additional thought and consideration for the needs of the 2017 public. Previous to this I have another brands clipper style shaver for quite a while which had become beyond useless. Now this Phillips shaver has really got me back into genuinely caring about my appearance on a daily basis. It gets pretty close to the skin and the battery seems to just go on and on, I've used it daily for over a week now and still haven't needed to charge it. The different attachments and heads are good and a wide range if, a little difficult to change over. Would like to see another body designated shaving length comb in the box but hey, it isn't the biggest problem in the world. One other little niggle is that when charging I don't think it gave a status on how charged it is but again,what do you expect for something that doesn't break the bank. This has to be one of the best trimmers i have ever used.The comfy and rubber grip makes holding this a dream even when wet. The trimmer itself is good at tackling all different kinds of hair (face, body and head). Some trimmers find it difficult to cut through softer or longer hair and this one just gets the job done with one pass. The different tools are very useful and save having to get different products for different jobs as this does everything in one. It comes with a normal 3 Pin UK Plug to charge the trimmer which i think is better than a shaver socket one. it comes with a nice long battery life.The only one slight downside is that the thinnest size you can trim down to with tool is 3mm.I would have like to have seen maybe a 1mm and possibly 2mm but that's the only negative thing i can say about this. I have been using this trimmer for around two weeks. I can safely say this is an excellent, well designed trimmer with a great grip and easy to switch tools.I’ve been very impressed by the build quality which feels very premium. The blades are very shard and deliver a terrific trim. The tools are easy to clip on and also importantly are easy to clean.The trimmer comes with an impressive set of tools (or attachments). It definitely met all my day-to-day trimming needs.With regards to battery life, you get a solid 80 minutes. The only negative I would mention is the lack of battery level indicator on the unit and long battery charge time of 16h.In summary this is a excellently designed premiumtrimmer which guarantees a good trim every time.I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. I used this razor after I had been on a two week holiday without shaving.I found the product reasonably easy to use but it did take me a few minutes to workout how to change the razor to the nose hair trimmer. The facial groomer was easy to adjust and was very effective even on 2 weeks worth of hair growth. I did find that some hair became stuck down the side of the razor but this was easily cleaned with water and the brush. The nose hair trimmer was effective but I did find it more difficult to trim the hair than I have with other nose trimming products. The body groomer was also a useful tools and I had no issues using this to trim body hair. Overall I think the product is of a very high quality and is very effective.I do feel that the nose trimmer could be better though [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
