I was having trouble sourcing replacement blades for my Philips HQ6894. The original blades must have lasted a good 10 years... but suddenly one of the 3 heads was making a nasty buzzing sound. Lookng at the shape of the heads, I thought I'd give these SH50/50 heads a try, since they do have that half-moon crescent thing going on on the outside, just like the HQ6 heads.Long story short: they arrived, they fit, they work slightly better than my defunct ones (just prior to the buzzing). One thing though... My shaver head has each disc slightly pointing inwards. The three-lobed shape of the head is thus concave, to fit the convex shape of much of my face (e.g. chin). However, when moving over bits that are concave on my face (e.g. neck junction) the shaver lobes tilt out a bit, and sometimes the new heads also buzz. A tap on the head will sort it out, and it might be my shaver. YMMV. Overall this behaviour is less of an issue than no blades. One of the things my quadra will do, which the newer ones wont.... is shave when just plugged in, even tho the battery may be empty. The newer shavers tend to be either wet n dry or be able to run off mains & battery. So the quadra is worth keeping IMO, on top of wanting to not just throw stuff out if you can replace bits.In any event, here (collected fom MFR site, for the HQ6 series blades) is the list of shavers that these blades will probably fit:HQ6425HQ6426HQ6466HQ6465HQ6832HQ6847HQ6850HQ6851HQ6852HQ6870HQ6871HQ6890HQ6894HQ7415HQ7815HQ7830HQ7850HQ78706828XL6887XL7610X7616X7866XL7886XLHQ662HQ663HQ664HQ686HQ665HQ6825HQ6826HQ6827HQ6828HQ6830HQ6848HQ6865HQ6867HQ6885HQ6888HQ6889HQ6893HQ7405HQ7615HQ7616HQ7617HQ7814HQ7816HQ7817HQ7820HQ7821HQ7825HQ7829HQ7845HQ7864HQ7865HQ7868HQ7885HQ6425HQ6426HQ6466HQ6465HQ6832HQ6847HQ6850HQ6851HQ6852HQ6870HQ6871HQ6890HQ6894HQ7415HQ7815HQ7830HQ7850HQ78706828XL6887XL7610X7616X7866XL7886XLHQ662HQ663HQ664HQ686HQ665HQ6825HQ6826HQ6827HQ6828HQ6830HQ6848HQ6865HQ6867HQ6885HQ6888HQ6889HQ6893HQ7405HQ7615HQ7616HQ7617HQ7814HQ7816HQ7817HQ7820HQ7821HQ7825HQ7829HQ7845HQ7864HQ7865HQ7868HQ7885

I purchased this head from philips direct...though this is much cheaper than the £61 I paid...gulpI have the sensotouch shaver and the original head which was one unit was brilliant but once used I bought the RQ12+ which was a let down it was noisy and ran out of sharpness quick so as one last chance I bought this head seems to be "new" and improved over the RQ12+ and after 3 shaves one of which was 3 days stubble I am very impressed with the shave.I would consider my facial hair as awkward going in different directions and hard as hell but I find shaving after a shower seems to make the hair softer, within 10 mins I shave if the skin is still sticky or a bit damp it willl be hard to glide over the skin so I use a bit of talc powder and it provides a good base to glide the head over.I had a go at wet shaving whilst I waited for the new head from Philips but unless I went against the hair I could still feel stubble.Once the head came and shaved I could find no stubble compared to wet shave this is my "Personal" experience with this head and I love it to date...one said the cutters you have to put in but the cutters should already be in the shaver head and ready to go in a sealed plastic package.Just align the head up with the main body as with other heads and click into the base easy peasy.

My razor had started to get a little noisy so I invested in new cutters instead of a new razor. The razor is rejuvenated and cutting perfectly. Highly recommended. Remember the cutters are matched pairs so keep them together as delivered. The instructions for fitting are much too small on the packet and there should be a leaflet inside. All you have to do is rotate each blue plastic retaining ring anticlockwise to remove the old cutters. The cutters have small lugs so note which way round the cutters are fitted as you remove the old ones. then fit the new ones with the lugs in the same positions, place the blue ring back and give a slight clockwise turn. This is the second time I have done this so the life of the razor has been considerably extended. The first shave may not be completely satisfactory because the cutters need to bed in a little but they soon do that and a perfect shave results.

Trusty Philips electric razors...better for your skin than wet shaving (I can grow a beard in two weeks) but they cut close and smooth and don't leave your skin raw. That's a give.Anyhow after 5 or so years (yes) the light on my razor came on reminding me to change the blades. Fair enough I thought...so off to the internet I went. Found exactly the right spec for £3.95. Would it be OK? Well sort of. They cut but not very well. Definitely not very smooth. Too cheap maybe? Probably? I put it down to manufacturing excellence. Definitely had second thoughts so......Bit the bullet went for absolute pukka latest generation Philips SH50 heads and blades which are still compatible with my ageing AT890 razor (and in place of the old HQ8).They cost £35 by comparison and are worth every penny. Immediate smooth and quick shave. Even sought a second opinion :-) who agreed wholeheartedly!

My son needed replacement shaving heads, so I searched and searched until I finally found the actual Philips shaving head replacements. I prefer to stick to the original brand when it comes to my son's face. I didn't want him to get cut or have any irritation because it can cause such horrible skin infections/increased acne/blemishes/inflammation/irritation. Just a whole slew of problems can arise, and trust me dermatologist bills & medications can get a bit costly. No thank you. Besides he loves the shaver, why F that up?This box comes with 3 shaver heads. Nice, clean, and ready to do the job. Of course, he had the responsibility of popping those puppies in, and I heard no complaints,so I assume it was easy...heck the kid is 16.He now has a nice clean face ? which makes him happy, all in all, a perfect buy! Thanks.

Buying replacement blades is always a crap shoot as there are many sub-standard knock-offs on Amazon. In April I ordered these same blades from a less expensive source on Amazon and from the start they didn't shave as well as blades that I had obtained from this supplier previously. I had 18 months of good shaving from the blades that I purchased from West Coast previously.. So, after putting up with 6 months of inferior performance from the other blades I went back to paying a little more for blades from West Coast. I was surprised at how well they done right out of the box - I expect to get the service life from these that I did previously; if not I will update this review.I know there are some negative comments about blades from this supplier, but my experience has been good and I will stick with them.

It had been several years since replacing the blades on my electric razor (as my face was telling me every time I used it). So, time to replace the same, and I did so with the Philips SH50/50 Replacement Blades for Series 5000 Electric Shavers. Made for the job.Fortunately, thanks to the range of sellers provided by Amazon, the blades were more easily obtainable that the last time they were replaced. So too, they were bought at a reasonable price, sent in the minimum of time, and in suitable packaging. The replacement blades were made of good quality steel, a bit fiddly to install (but quite straightforward once the knack to do so was acquired), and, hopefully, will do the job for a few years more before the whole electric shaver needs replacing. Satisfied with the purchase from a reliable supplier.

This has given my Philips shaver a new lease of life and it's working much better again.I think picture on the box is more an indication of the model of the shaver the replacement heads are for rather that what is actually in the box. The box actually contains the 3 metal circular shaving head blades and you still need the original shaving head unit to put them in!They are a little fiddly to install (but they are keyed so you need to rotate them until they fit snug in the head unit. Also you need to be careful with the plastic clips that hold the heads in place as they don't feel very robust and if they break I'm not sure if you can buy them (they are not included in this box).

Genuine Philips, made in the Netherlands.Easy to fit provided you read and follow the instructions further down the product page. You might like to mark the face of the old heads with a permanent marker so that you can immediately see which are the old heads! Do one head at a time so you can refer to either of the other two for the correct orientation of the head and the retaining ring (they're asymmetric).A noticeably better/faster shave after 2½ year's use of the original heads - Oh that ordinary razor blades stayed sharp for that long! The old cutter edges seemed sharp enough but they're shaped to be self-sharpening, so it'll be the edges of the foil slots that get blunt.

Product arrived with the shaver I bought, these separate blades merely being specifically bought for future use / blades replacement. The blades ("cutters"), at the much-reduced price, offer reasonable value (I still have a major problem with Philips over-charging for their replacement blades on a day-to-day basis -- I only purchase Philips on reduced price days / events). So, I have to assume these (original equipment) blades will equal the reasonable performance of the Philips shaver I bought (Series 5) at the same time of purchasing these replacement blades. So, assumption at this stage, only.

Arrived a day earlier than expected...even with the snow! Have used philips shavers for some years. Was expecting just the blades after reading some mixed reviews and would have been happy with that but was pleasantly surprised to find both shaver heads and blades included. Easy to replace and after changing heads its like having a new shaver!! Cant get over how bad the original blades had become after 2.5 years. Certainly well worth the price of £26.....and a fraction of the cost of a new shaver! Would probably think twice if at Phillips rrp of £40 though, but really pleased with latest offer!

The original blades in my AT890 were never great. Eventually decided to replace them and Philips website listed the SH50 as the new replacement blades (originally not the same blades as first supplied in the AT890 razor). And what a worthwhile upgrade/replacement as the new blades now give a much closer cut and better finish than the old blades ever did, almost bordering on what a wet shave would give. Those of you using the older//original blades but find you are not happy with the quality of your electric shave may find it a worthwhile upgrade to replace the old blades with this newer type.

This is what you need. There's no alternative. Philips says you should replace the heads every 2 years. I replaced my heads after 2 years and honestly I can't tell the difference between the 2-year-old ones and the new ones.I strongly recommend using water and shaving cream with these shavers (they can be used in the wet). When I use my Philips 9000 with Nivea shaving cream and water, it's almost as close as a Gillette Fusion blade.Tip: Search Youtube for a video on how to replace the heads. And make sure they are correct way up.

I hadn’t realised how long I had had my shaver, and how the cutting performance had deteriorated. I was contemplating purchasing a replacement shaver, but decided to replace the cutters instead. Delivery in about 24 hours which was spectacular. After I had fitted the cutters I experienced an absolutely great shave. Really close. I have resolved not to wait as long next time. An entry has gone into my electronic diary to replace again in 2 years time. If your shaver is struggling, buy new cutters, you won’t regret it

At first I was dubious about these replacement heads because the slots in them were a different pattern to those that were in the shaver from new. I need not have hesitated, the shaver now gives a better shave than ever. Fitting the heads is easy enough, just a bit fiddly. I'm amazed at the reviewers who are complaining that the black plastic bit is not included. Why would it be? it doesn't wear. That's like buying a new tyre for your car and then complaining that you haven't got the shiny bit in the middle!
