This is a good option for security in lowish risk areas or if your bike doesn't have space for a chain lock. No one could wheel away your bike or put it in a van without drawing attention to themselves. It's pretty loud; not as loud as a 'proper' alarm but you wouldn't expect it to be. Looks solidly built to meI haven't found it too sensitive although you have to fairly nimble fingered to unlock it without setting it off. Best to make sure key hole is aligned when you leave it.I haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life but ball type trigger mechanism shouldn't have any current drain so would have thought battery will only run down if it's going off a lot.The advice on the instructions to keep it unlocked when not in use doesn't make a lot of sense, you can't close the cap and put it in the pouch without the lock pushed in. Just lock it and don't press the arm button with the 15 sec timeout - it's not rocket science.

Fab little lock! Very sturdy and heavy, what you'd expect in a decent disk lock. Easy to operate - press in and turn key to lock, press button to arm alarm. I like that you can choose whether the alarm is active or not, as it is quite sensitive and can go off in strong winds, so can choose to use it as a normal disk lock in those conditions. It doesn't have a wireless key fob to turn off alarm, but this is reflected in the low price. The alarm turns itself off automatically after 10 seconds and re-arms itself. The lock doesn't actually fit in the case supplied which is odd.Supplied with 3 keys.Batteries come preinstalled and are said to last 6-9 months. They also supply a spare set of batteries which is fab as they are button type, which can be a pain to source.r>Overall I think this is a great lock for the price and offers some peace of mind with the additional security of an alarm.Read full review...

First , Great lock alarm, but these are defiantly old stock as the batteries that are installed are dead and have swelled up and pushed the plastic with the connections away, (slightly damaged) but thankfully still works , & lucky enough, it came with spear batteries . seems good quality, don't think this is water proof, I will be making a seal around the battery case my self. The SELLER needs to check the batteries in these alarms before selling them, as the swelling of the batteries bend the plastic were the connections are, and if left longer, they will leak acid and then you will have a problem. All said, this seems a good lock and alarm.Tge only reason why i gave this 4 stars is The batteries that have slightly damaged the internals through swelling. This needs to be addressed by the seller and sorted out.

Purchased this item from a motorcycle shop (at similar price to Amazon's), to use on my Honda scooter (7 mm pin seems OK for it). I'm impressed by the finish and the quality feel of this lock. Instructions are provided on both the box and in a leaflet inside the pouch, so not sure about other's comments about the lack thereof. 3 keys, a spare battery set and even an Allen key to open the battery compartment are all welcome. I also like the way the alarm can be switched on or not when locking it on the bike, and the alarm 2 modes (warning beeps and continuous) seem a good idea. Time will tell how the batteries (and the product itself) will last, but first impressions are good. Also recommend using it with a disk lock reminder - it's ever so cheap and it may save you your brake disc sometime...

Great theft deterrent and practical disc lock, or just a great deterrent for kids touching your bike, which has already been seen in action outside my house when pesky teenagers decided to try messing with it, works a treat.Seen some people saying it's too sensitive, but I have not had that problem at all.Comes with two sets of batteries, 6 batteries in each set, first set of batteries have so far lasted 5 weeks of constant use and still going strong, this is fitted and armed all the time unless I'm riding, even fitted at home in my shed overnight, and anyway the LR44 button batteries are cheap as chips to buy, I bought 20 Duracell's for £3.99 with free postage, enough for 3 battery changes.

I am sure there are other disc locks more secure than this one, but for the price, I think this one is excellent quality. I'm using this as part of my motorcycle security along with a strong chain and lock. The lock part seems to work very well and the alarm is quite sensitive. I'm sure it won't stop a determined and properly equipped thief but at least it makes a loud noise when disturbed which might attract attention. It's easy to fit and to arm the alarm. I'm lead to believe by other reviewers that the batteries will last about 6 months but I can't say we have any experience with that side of things. For the money I paid, I am very pleased with this product.

Used it once so far on a very busy car park. Found it a little awkward to get the pin into on of the disc holes but that may be through lack of practice. Makes a horrible beeping noise when fitted to let you know it is working. Did not go off every time a bird flew past or a car rolled by. That's got to be a good thing.A solid, heavy alarm that lends confidence to the user.Think this would take a lot of effort to remove from a bike.

Chunky and heavyweight but not too heavy, only giving it 4 stars because the locking mechanism is a little bit fiddly to use. Fits perfectly under my rear seat thought and the carry case is a nice addition to keep it clean. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a decent lock on a budget. Loud too so it will get people's attention. Overall pretty happy with it and if I ever need another I'd happily buy the same one.

I had one on my bike and it was the only security device the thieves couldn’t remove it bent a tiny and i mean tiny amount, they tried to drill the lock ...FAILED! So they resorted to trying to bolt crop the actual disc rotor and failed safe to say for the price you are getting a decent deterrent it sets off when you lightly bump the bike (it does not like rain what so ever it will scream off a drop or two).

Good little disc lock, cheap and effective. Not the most secure lock you can buy but at a fraction of the price and very vocal with it you can't beat it. It wouldn't be the only device I put on a £20k bike but a good additional deterrent - it all helps. Ideal for a scooter or small bike and comes with a nice little carry case and 3 keys. Can't fault it for the price. Good work Oxford!

It has the price of a normal disc lock but it includes the alarm.I think it is a enough reason to get it instead others without. It's solid and loud enough as deterrent. I leave it outside and I have never had problems with wind and rain, it has worked when it supposed to.Batteries runs quickly and to remove it we have to be ready no wasting a second otherwise the alarm goes off.

12.9.2018

It yells loudly 4 times if the bike gets moved slightly and settles. If it's moved again within 30 secs then it literally screams until it's unlocked which turns it off. I dare say you could find it cheaper but saying that, a) I can't be arsed spending ages trawling the web to save a couple of pennies isn't for me and b) I had the money available so I spent it.

Works well and does the job, it's not ridiculously noisy but it makes a noise, which at the end of the day, is what it's meant to do. The main question is: Is this item worth the money? I got it for £25, and I believe it's definitely worth that much. Worthwhile purchase for someone who is just starting out on bikes and wants some cheap but good security.

3.7.2020

Nice, neat, small so will take it with me on trips out (Quite heavy) Currently been used inside garage at home and the siren/alarm gives added piece of mind.(Alarm volume is enough to be annoying to intruder, and sufficient but as with other reviews not super loud, but what do you expect powered off a small battery. Ideal in my circumstances.

This is a great product from Oxford. Easy to use and has the advantage that when you move the front wheel it bleeps 4 times - thus no driving away with the disc lock still on. So simple yet so effective! Alarm is loud enough to warn opportunist thieves and the whole thing packs away into a small pouch. Good poduct!!
