This Oxford alarm lock is very good for deterring people to steal your bike purely because of the sound. It can draw a lot of attention because the noise is very loud which is good because it almost acts as a car alarm in a sense. You do have to learn when to turn the key fully or half how to tell if the alarm is off or on however when you learn the technique within a couple of days you will get used to if it's on or not when it beeps that means it's on when turning the key half way.Come with 3 keys which is more than standard. With a anti-corrosion coating on the metal part.If you going to store the lock on its frame with the lock bracket well...it's not the best for that because it will make a lot of noise and flex when riding...Security is a silver which is very comparable with some kryptonite locks within its price range so the alarm feature is a big bonus. The batteries doesn't need to be changed for years to come so you don't need to worry about that for a while. (it's a coin size battery if you was wondering)Good value for money overall!

One I ordered was lost in transit and full refund given.Brought second not via Amazon, but revising on here.Having just brought a brand new hybrid bike, at a high street supplier. The agent advised me to buy an alarm, but advised of a product which came as a rear light. After reviewing that product and this one I obviously decided on this.Fitting to the bike is great with its bracket. Issue I found was the excess strapping would catch on my leg when cycling. I choose not to cut these, but undo the straps again and fit a cable tie under and when the strap was fitted properly I would do the cable ties up to hold down the excess.Looks great. The alarm works well. Only tested it in the garage.Didn't seem that loud, but it's more a deterrent, as it will chirp for a few times, then the alarm will sound.

Indeed, this lock at 2kg is somewhat heavy however, with a bicycle worth thousands this keeps it secure and my mind at peace.Take your time to practice with the lock because if you move it whilst unlocking the alarm goes off if you are not quick enough. My routine is to set the alarm on locking and once I return to open I relock it to place it in my rucksack, the alarm does not set thus does not go off in the backpack. This is all done in one smooth action. The D lock will not fit through the back wheel and frame due to the water bottle holder and the front derailleur being in the way. (Planet X RTD 80 frame Cosmic wheel set). As such, the lock is more often on the front steering column, with the cable going off to the back.

Boughthe this sold secure silver lock/alarm for my new bike. This is the mini version but is still a good size. Easy to fit and seems strong with a very loud irritating alarm. Sure to bring a bike thief to someonestablish attention. Does seem to work on movement so could be set off accidentally by others parking their bikes in a rack but theven alarm can be switched off. Three keys too. The mounting bracket is fully adjustable but won't fit my folding ebike frame. It's a pity the mini isn't available with the additional cable as the large one is but overall it's a great lock and I am confident it will live up to its silver rating.

I love this ear piercing piece of kit. There is two setting on the alarm part first setting you will hear on beep it means it's alarmed second setting by turning the key twice to use without alarm. Perfect when camping or if leaving bikes on the carrier whilst nipping into services for coffee, the audible warning that the item is alarmed is enough to put most people off stealing your bike. If the alarm goes off trust me it will grab attention of anybody near by, thieves do not like witnesses. Great buy great lock

A scaled down version of the Maxi, same build quality, same operation. I use the Maxi for use in the garage but find it cumbersome to take in my luggage. The Mini is just the right size, when paired up with the Maxi cable extender it fits nicely in my bike seat hump space (BMW R100RT) along with the security cable. Electronics appear to be the same as Maxi which the lithium battery lasts over one year and is just as loud. If you value your bike it's a must have.

have spent a lot of money on a bicycle I felt my security needed an up grade , now this will stop any person from just having a go, I find it too big and cumbersome for comfortable cycling, but when I get this out my rucksack, I know no thieve will get past this one, its heavy U=bolt and the cable thickness just give me confidence that my bike isn't getting stolen , and the alarm is an added bonus, to further deter any people from playing with the locks

Love this little lock,I have to leave my tank in the communal hall so can now relax & if this goes off I know my bikes being moved. I just lost a bike to theft & had this lock but it was on my other bike.CR2 batteries seem to go on forever,Oxford say up to 2 years I think. It can be used as a normal D lock too in case you want it quiet. Sold Secure Silver rated so covers bikes up to a grand :)

Perfect service. Gadget is just what of I had needed. Mini isn't so mini and could be place to every one of three movements of bike. One point of lock. Battery is to partly opened part of locking and I don't know how 10-20 ml. solution of NaCl will influence alarm activity. No more high sensitivity. Then one point locking isn't problem despite the D is looking enough sturdy.

Does not look as effective as kryptonite new York but probably is. It's lighter though and can be carried easily. Definitely effective enough though. Just don't park in silly places is all. Alarmed is loud but not irritating enough. And whose going to bother against someone with an electric angle grinders which is wot this needs.

Bought this as added security for bikes on back of Motorhome. Used it in France, it's loud and would frighten a potential thief when everyone turns to look! Peace of mind too. Was worried about cost but pleased we bought it. We used with an extended lead to go around 4 bikes.

I got the lock with amazon prime and received it the same day, I am really pleased with the product although it took me a while to use it correctly (the alarm sounded every time I opened it). It fits perfectly on my bike and I don't even need to use the cable.

Installed in my bike shed and it makes a terrific loud noise, like a rape alarm. Extremely reassuring and shows how odd the security ratings are that this doesn't achieve the top level. The only downside is you have to suffer the noise when unlocking it too.

Very strong main lock and cable, capable of locking both wheels to the frame and the frame to an inanimate object. My only gripe is that the alarm is a bit sensitive (not a totally bad thing) whilst locking it up!

The Oxford Alarm-D Scoot U Lock maybe small but is strong enough to provide excellent security for scooters and small motorcycles. It is easy to use and has the added bonus of loud alarm.
