A few days ago I purchased a Nintendo 3DS XL from Amazon for my wife's birthday to replace her ageing, battered old DS Lite. She was very pleased with it, but after using it for a few hours it needed re-charging and it was then that I realised Nintendo hadn't included a charger. I don't know why it didn't occur to me earlier, when she was unwrapping it.It is absolutely appalling that Nintendo are pulling this con-trick! After all, once the 3DS battery has run down there is no way of charging it without this charger. It wouldn't be so bad if it was possible to charge it from a computer using a usb cable, but no,

Like Title says. 5 Stars for really good product with all important British CE mark, Correct voltage (4.6V)and ampage (900mA)output, 6ft(190cm) cable. Nothing like those sub-par adapters you can buy off ebay with the wrong ampage outputs and very short cables and dubious quality. 1 Star for Nintendo not including one with the console in the first place (what were they thinking!) and probably gonna get flak for this but 1 Star for Amazon for not stepping up to the plate and including one in the bundle options anyway en gratis. (Yeah they a business etc Not their responsibility etc) So what!!! You buy a TV you get a power cable. You buy a pair of shoes you get a pair of laces.

This power adapter works fine. It is almost identical to my old 3DS plug, a grey plastic three pin plug with a grey cord that slots into your 3DS XL. WAIT a second, I think it is identical!! The only difference is my 3DS plug came free and I had to pay for this one on top of paying for my 3DS XL!! For THAT reason I cannot justify giving this plug 5 stars. So if Nintendo are listening please take note and don't make us pay extra for things that should come with the console. If this catches on soon they will start selling Iphones without chargers and flat screens without the mains. But nintendo PLEASE don't be mad at me because I have over the years spent thousands and thousands of pounds on all

I was bought a 3DS almost 4 years ago it was bought so I would have something to do whilst recovering from spinal surgery ,HAHA !! if anyones had spinal surgery the last thing you want to do is play on a games device .anyway I put if away and the other night found it but could not find the charger .and like most homes we have about 20 mobile phone /routers chargers power supplies .and non would fit .so amazon to the rescue .it arrived today just 48 hours after me ordering it .and it looks original and it fits the device .its always wise to buy genuine chargers and batteries too many stories of homes going up in smoke .not worth it when the genuine charger is less than £10 ..

It works have no problems, perfect for my country using it with USA 3DS XL and works like a charm and was told by Nintendo its probably safer to use this in my country UK than an import adapter for my US version 3ds XL.Charges the 3ds XL in a short time to max when not in use, cant say for certain maybe between 1-2 hours the cable is decent reach when its not charging I always switch off the AC power this could save any hardware as everything and anything on this planet has durability, I'd expect this to last many many years if you treat it well. no bending cables, not constantly plugged in and wall switch on when its not charging the 3DS XL, you know that sort of thing.

I recently brought a new Nintendo 3DS XL but when I went to charge the device I realised that it hadn't be provided with one which was slightly annoying. I researched why 3DS XL's weren't being provided with chargers and apparently it cuts costs for Nintendo but not for the consumer. I brought this official 3DS/3DS XL charger as I wasn't sure on the quality of the cheaper ones advertised on amazon. This product charges the 3DS/3DS XL well and isn't bad price for £6.99. I would recommend this charger because of the quality and works good. Overall a good product and delivery was quick by amazon.

I can't fault the charger, and as everyone knows don't buy third party chargers from dubious sources!They may explode, overheat or worse, not work from day one and destroy the device you are charging. I have already been on the receiving end of a fake camera battery.My main gripe is that I had to buy this as an accessory for my daughters new 3DS XL, and that it didn't come supplied with one. Yes the box contained a cable that you could use to charge the device from a USB port BUT this can take ages.My wife passed on her impatient gene on to my daughter, so for a quiet life I bought this.

Firstly, I feel its important to mention that if you just bought a 3ds, you're going to need to buy one of these too, because it is not included. Luckily I'd done my research and bought it with my DS order, so I managed to get through setup and first game introduction without running out of juice. The charger itself does the job, feels a bit cheap though (or maybe that's just me, but the plastic seems a little brittle and extremely light considering its size). Havn't had any problems with it yet, the lead is fairly long which is nice. Overall it is just an essential if you have a 3DS.

When my brother bought a Nintendo 3DS he was surprised to find that it didn't come with a charger, and so asked me to buy one for him. We purchased a multi-charger that included the 3DS charging head but this broke so I thought I would look out for an official Nintendo product. This was exactly what he needed and is excellent quality. I was confused as to why the 3DS doesn't come with one, especially as my 2DS did. It charges very quickly and as the headline of this review says "does the job". Great as a back-up or spare if you already have one. Prompt service and delivery.

A bit cheeky when buying a new 3DS XL for my partner and myself that they don't actually ship the required power adaptor with the device due to some packaging rubbish/ they expect you to have one from a previous console or something equally ridiculous. I'd have thought it would be common sense to ship an electronic product with some means of charging it up, but apparently not.Anyway this was a needed purchase and was cheap, works well with DSi, 3DS and 3DS XL so can't complain for the price, just a bit annoyed at Nintendo for pulling this sneaky move.

Whilst there is debate that Nintendo should have included one with the XL, this charger is great and works fine ( as it should). GAME were trying to flog their own branded charger to me for £9.99 which I thought was ridiculous seeing as I can get a genuine Nintendo one on Amazon for cheaper. In addition I wanted to pick up Luigis mansion 2 which GAME were selling for £39.99!!! No wonder game retail stores are struggling.Ended up picking up the charger and game here on amazon which arrived promptly. Great service and price. THANKS AMAZON!

I've seen a few comments complaining that this charger wasn't included in the 3DS XL box, my assumption was, that Nintendo were thinking the majority of people were just upgrading from a DSi or normal 3DS, to the XL and would therefor not need a charger as they can just use the previous one.However there will be the small handful who will have still been using just a DS/DS lite and would then need a new charger as the connector has changed when the DSi came out.It is quite annoying, but i think that could've been why.

I didn't realise that when you buy the Nintendo 3DS XL that it doesn't come with an adaptor, unfortunately id wrapped 3DS up for Christmas and when he opened it Christmas day it needed charging through my laptop. So ordered this adapter and it arrived very quickly, in a matter of days in fact, so all was good and my son could play on his 3DS for hours while it was charging through the Adapter. My only criticism is that people should be made aware that the Nintendo 3DS XL does not come with an adapter before they buy it.

5 Stars because it does what it has to do which is charging your console. BUT I HAVE TO SAY I AM PISSED OFF WITH NINTENDO, WHEN I BUY A CONSOLE I WANT A PACKAGE WITH EVERYTHING I NEED TO PLAY IT AND CHARGE IT. Y THINK THEY SHOULD START MAKING BETTER DECISIONS WITH THEIR PRODUCTS, I UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CONSTANTLY DISAPPOINT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND THEIR SALES ARE FAR FAR AWAY FROM WHAT THEY WERE USE TO BE. Bought my son a 3ds Xl for his 9th birthday, and even thou that birthday hasn't been yet when opening and checking the ds I noticed it didn't came with a plug in charger so had to order one. Which I thought was pretty silly considering the price of the ds. But anyways, bought this on amazon as cheaper than in my local game store, arrived before date given and even thou I do think it could be including with the ds I do think the price n here wasn't to bad. So all around a gd must have buy.
