It's expensive, the cable is too short, it's of unremarkable quality - not poor quality, just nothing special - and unfortunately necessary if you want to be 100% certain of safe use with a Switch dock. Reports of hardware failures as a result of using unofficial Nintendo docks and/or unofficial Nintendo USB-C cables to power said docks are still happening at a steady pace.That being said, if you don't want to use it to power a docked Switch, you don't actually need to fork out for this. Any USB-C cable with a 56 ohm resistor (a fairly standard component in a good quality cable) will safely charge the Switch in handheld mode, and you can save some money.

I actually bought this for my Macbook Pro not the Switch. I was borrowing my son's Switch charger when I was working from home as the 2017 onwards Pros use USB C now. So much cheaper than the Apple version.My only comment would be that once it gets to 100%, you hear a "ping" sound. It feels like it's getting to full charge then stopping and restarting. Might go off every 10 minutes which doesn't happen with the official Apple chargers. It just means I won't leave it on overnight or if i'm out.Obviously also works with the Nintendo Switch so if you want a spare as you keep one plugged into the docking station, you can't go wrong.

Works perfectly with non branded nintendo switch dock 'ZasLuke USB C to HDMI Adapter'. Kept it charged at 100% while playing for 2 hours straight. Despite it not being a nintendo licenced dock. Basically if your looking for a spare dock for your switch, i recommend the Zasluke only with this official Switch charger, any other charger and the switch won't stay charged fully while playing. I recommending that dock until nintendo stops charging an arm & a leg for the official dock. But stick with their charger, atleast for now until a cheaper one comes along that can do exactly the same

Originally I just had the charger that came with the Switch. However this has transformed my life! Now I can leave the original charger in with the dock and when I want to use my Switch to go portable and worried about the console losing battery, my mind can now be at rest knowing that I don’t have to fluffing around trying to get the original charger plug out of the dock behind all my units to be able to charge my switch when it is running low on battery. Now I can reach into my draw and get this spare charger. Makes my life so much easier and no more fluffing around

This may be an espensive and overpriced ac adapter, but if you compare this to the cheaper bootlegged virsions which use cheaper components to keep production costs low, I chose to have my house fire free. Moreover, you avoid "bricking" your switch or invalidating your warrenty. To those who are reading my review and saying "rubbish!", heed my words my friend. Its better to be safe than sorry! I have given this four stars because of the stupid and idiotic price. Would be suited to £19.99 due to age of this console now as its not exclusive anymore.

I was advised from many youtubers to always buy official nintendo products and this is the best charger they do. Very useful when out and about and a really long cable as well which is good. Charges quickly and efficiently and as its Nintendo own brand fits perfect with the connector.Only slight issue is the price as its not cheap but you pay for quality and for the official product so can't expect less. If you use your switch out and about, airports, trains, hotels etc than 100 per cent get this charger!

After spending 14£ on Amazon buying cheap Nintendo chargers that lasted days.I Saved myself the trouble and my kids the pain by spending more and getting the original chargers with the Nintendo branding on it. They arrived three days later and have been working ok.You can tell the difference just by looking at the Nintendo charger and the cheap stuff.Please buy the Nintendo original Chargers so your console lasts longer.

Good build quality and handy item. I purchased this so I could change the unit without the dock. This is the same charger that comes with the system so you could just keep unplugging that and moving it around but that isn't particularly convenient.It is a bit on the pricy side but the switch uses a fairly specific power draw so trying to find something 100% compatible is a bit of a nightmare.

My Nintendo switch charger is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I bought it for my granddaughter after she had used other chargers which didn’t really work properly. I thought it was good value for money and more to the point..... my granddaughter is happy with it! I have already recommended this charger to friends and family. Thankyou Argos

More expensive than the non Nintendo chargers but I’m happy with this one.As a woman new to gaming, I’m happy that this adapter plugs into the bottom of the Nintendo switch and the plug part into the wall.For me, this means I can sit on the sofa and play my favourite games rather than waiting for it to keep charging up on the console!

Great quality official charger. My friend had been relying on 3rd party chargers until we bought him this one- this is the only charger that allows you to continue playing while the console is charging. It was a very quick and convenient purchase- we reserved it online and picked it up in store the same day and it works amazingly!

It's a charger for my switch and I needed 2nd one for out and about as I was getting fed up of pulling my TV out to get to the one plugged into the docking station. It's a bit pricey but if you don't want to take the risk of bricking your switch with 3rd party chargers then this is the only choice. Oh and it also charges my phone!

It's an official Nintendo Charger. They are bulky (the plug is big) and the wire cannot be taken out it's all one thing. I love this charger because it's quite robust in the sense of it hasn't broke and it seems quite well made. Some people may not like it due to it's size and inability to remove the wire from the plug.

Replacement charger for a Nintendo Switch as the original charger got bent and wouldn't work properly. I did try a none Nintendo replacement (not from Argos) but reverted back to this when that one did not work with the TV feature. Good value as did what the other charger did not and not much more expensive.

Expensive, but works to fast charge the Switch, and the controllers. Also, seems to be the only option if you want to use the TV mode, either through the official dock or the various third party dock options. Putting this official charger with a third party HDMI dock was that trick that brought it to life.
