I think that Leapfrog should include this adapter and a battery pack that you can recharge with the Leapad, as my son goes through his Leapad batteries like lightning, and it's inevitable you are going to need one or other or both. At the time I ordered this adapter, I couldn't get one of the (really expensive) rechargeable battery packs anywhere online or off, so opted for this adapter, as I thought at least my son could use it sitting near to a power source. It has worked fine as an emergency back up when we've run out of batteries in the house!

At last!This'll save you a fortune in batteries and if, like us, you've gone down the route of rechargeables, this'll save your head from the grief when you forget to recharge your batteries.The jack fits well and doesn't shake free in normal 4 yo usage.Not much else to say, it does exactly what's written on the tin. and, to be honest, it is so essential that this probably should have been included in the original LeapPad.A must buy for every LeapPad house

Without this the we would have been lost! Especially as this version of the Leappad doesnt come with a chargeable battery and when you have to download apps from the Leappad website (batteries sometimes get too weak and crashes in the middle of a download or sync)Also very good for those moments when you do run out of batteries (we ended up buying chargeable batteries in the end) but this power lead has been so valuable and worth every penny.

If you have an explorer, this is a must. Standard battery life is approx 4 to six hours in my experience. My rechargables last a bit longer. I would say this is a must though for when the batteries are charging, if you use rechargables.It is a lot sturdy than some chargers i have come across in the past. We do use an unbranded charger for the Innotab (which was £5.00) cheaper than the Vtech one.So it is all a matter of preference.

Mr grandaughter loves her LeapFrog pad - it was an inspirational christmas present for her. But it was gobbling up the batteries much to her Mother's consternation causing a modicom of rationing usage time, which was not well received at all. However the purchase of this seemingly well made AC Adapter has enabled peace, tranquility, much happiness, and most importantly economy, to make a welcome return to the household.

I bought this for my son's leap pas explorer as the batteries were running out very quickly and wanted to save money , this did just that however the only draw back i found was the you have to keep the charger in the socket for the leap pad to stay on as soon as you un- plug it the leap pad goes off so my don has to sit in one place he seems happy enough with doing that . So overall would still recommend.

Purchased 2 for my daughters. They both have leap pads which get through a ridiculous amount of batteries so these seemed like an economical solution. They work as you would expect, the only slight gripe is that the plug itself is huge! Maybe it was intended to help little hands but it does mean its a bit difficult to fit in a socket with other things, not impossible but awkward!

The leap pad 2 adaptors are incredibly expensive and the battery pack even more so. This product is marketed for the leap pad 1 but works perfectly for the leap pad 2. I must say, however, that rechargable energizer batteries last forever in the leap pad 2 so have not used this plug much, but it works and that is what I wanted.

This is good quality build product and does exactly what it says on the box. The plug fits snugly into the device and doesn't wiggle about and fall out, and importantly it saves wearing down your batteries.Please remember, though, that this isn't a battery charger - it is just a mains adapter, like it says on the box.

Definitely need this if you have a leap pad especially when downloading the Apps. I got through 2 sets of batteries setting up the Leappad. Get the charger and no problem saves the battery life. Does not charge the Leappad you have to keep the charger plugged in whilst using the Leappad. But a good purchase

I bought this product a long time ago and it's still going both my children have a leap frog so I bought one each after getting fed up with constantly buying batteriesI would highly recommend this product it really worth it it's good quality this wire is long and durableThank you seller

I bought this as my kids have the LeapPad and GS systems. I have used rechargeable batteries in them but decided to get this so they can still play whilst they are charging. Only down side is that they are no longer free to go wherever they like whilst plugged in which can frustrate them.

I just ordered (on line) the leappad2 for my twins as a Christmas present and I want to avoid the battery problem by getting adapters. The thing is we are a non-UK family (we leave in Romania) and I am not sure if this particular adapter works outside UK. Can anyone help me with a hint???

Does exactly what it is supposed to - has a long enough cord that the child isn't stuck in one position (at a plug) and all the more saves in the cost of batteries in the long run.Shame the actual Leappad unit doesn't come with one - but then that would just be silly (up sell).

I bought this to go with my daughters Leap Pad 2 after reading some of the reviews. As she uses the Leap Pad quite a lot I am sure I have already saved the money on batteries. Definitely worth buying to use around the home; and save the batteries for when they are out and about!
