Firstly, this isn't my first exposure to Venom batteries, I've owned them previously on the Xbox 360 and so bought these after upgrading to the Xbox One S - there were few choices in white that matched the white Xbox One S.I'll offer a quick summary, for those not interested in a full review:Positives:* Cheap - less than a third of the price of official batteries* Lasts for several hours, in my testing 8-10 hours of use before needing a charge* Can be charged whilst in use* Charging light shows when charging has completedNegatives:* Maybe the build quality isn't as high as Microsoft, maybe...* Batteries are a tight fit, so aren't easy to removeWhat can you expect? Well, put simply, these are a much cheaper option to official Xbox play and charge kits with a couple of small changes. No, they probably aren't as well made as official xbox batteries but the official play and charge kits are currently £16.75 and that's for one battery. Here, you are paying £9.99 for two. So what are the differences? Basically, it comes down to two things (in addition to build quality), firstly these batteries are NOT charged using the existing Xbox controller USB socket. It is important that you use the USB port on the battery itself and not the controller. The other difference is the addition of a charging indicator light which flashes when charging and switches to solid green once the battery has fully charged. The batteries themselves, I estimate last for between 8-10 hours before requiring a recharge, however, they do come with a fairly long charging cable and the controllers can still be used whilst the battery is charging. I've found that it's comfortable to use, even with the charging cable attached. The cable supplied is a Y cable, allowing you to charge two batteries at once. I mostly use a single controller, except when friends are over, so tend to switch between the two only charging one at a time. You could charge two controllers and use them at once, however you would have to be sat close together. The batteries are a little difficult to remove from the controllers, it's a fairly tight fit but then why would you need to remove them when charging can be done with the batteries attached to the controllers? I personally don't charge via the xbox, I just have a phone charger close to me when playing as the xbox is just too far away to be convenient, charging using this (or my surround system / tv) works just as well as the xbox, it's a standard USB cable.Overall, at this price point it is a no brainer as to whether to buy. They are simple to use, last for quite a few hours, can be used whilst charging and are less than a third of the cost of official batteries.

Having purchased my first Xbox (One S) I started the obligatory search for peripherals and add ons. Not wanting to splash out a fortune on batteries I wanted some rechargeable ones. Having, unusually for me, read the blurb that accompanies the controller it recommends that you do not use regular rechargeable batteries so I started the search for a rechargeable battery pack. In my opinion these came out tops so I thought I'd give them a whirl. As they were Prime I received them the next day and they were well packaged. Having unpacked them I noticed what appeared to be a micro usb port on each pack so making a HUGE assumption, did a typical bloke thing and I plugged my phone charger into one.But before switching on I thought I'd better read the enclosed instruction booklet. It clearly states that the battery pack must only be charged while inserted in the Xbox controller and charged via one of the Xboxes two USB ports located on the rear of the One S.The Venom pack contains two rechargeable battery packs, a split USB charging lead allowing two packs to be charged from one lead simultaneously and a user instruction booklet. When the battery pack is fitted to the controller there are two micro USB ports one below the other. When charging the pack make sure you plug the charging cable into the port in the battery pack not the one in the controller. If the charging lead is connected correctly a green light on the battery pack will flash. You can use the controller while it is charging and once charged the green light will remain constantly illuminated.I have only given it 4 stars at this point because I'm not sure about the longevity of a charge and will adjust the rating accordingly once both packs have been charged and fully discharged a couple of times. As it stands I am very happy with the purchase.

So initially I was rather hesitant to make this purchase, because I was going to go with the official "charge and play kit" and I had never heard of the brand 'Venom' before. So I took the plunge and went for it. why not? I thought, I read the review and the majority seem to favour this item and now I can clearly see why. This is seriously well worth the money.Firstly, it is fully compatible with the official and elite controllers. (it says so on the front of the box). It fits PERFECTLY into the new Xbox One S controller (that's the one I'm using it with).Secondly there are two.... TWO!Unless you have two controllers you only really need to use one and keep the other handy until the first one has been used to much it barely charges anymore. You can charge and play, have everything off and charge it. Best of all you can either use the cable they provide or use a modern phone charger (Samsung Galaxy S3 and onwards for example) to charge the controller. The charge lasts a decent amount of time too, I would 100% recommend this over the official version. If you were in doubt like me, just take the plunge you won't regret it.Overall it feels good, looks good, charges well. It does the job, and very well at that.

Great value item! I had previously purchased a cheap one for a fiver from another brand that lasted about three charges and would run out after two hours of game play and take 12 hours to charge! This however lasts half a day and you can always have the spare on charge if you're on a gaming binge! The usb connector is convenient too as it has a double head so takes up only one usb port to charge both at once - or even charge one and an Android device or tablet. It also looks much smarter than the images would suggest and has much more subtle branding and a perfect fit. I believe it fully charges in a few hours and lasts about ten hours so really good value for money compared to buying an official one as you get two of similar standard.Even the packaging looked smart and had a professional retail look rather than the single ones you get for a fiver that come in a plastic bag or plain box! Overall great quality and amazing value and it fits through your letter box so you don't have to worry about missing the delivery man or staying home all day. Would highly recommend even the green led charging indicator looks good and is very bright.

I knew I needed a simple solution for charging our Xbox controllers and this provided the solution. It also meant that I don't need to keep adding re-chargeable batteries. It's simple that my son just needs to charge the controllers at the end of the day. These are available in white and black so will suit most people (unless you have special Xbox controllers). The only negative point is the cable can come out if you play whilst charging. This is problematic if your controller battery is low. The only suggestion here is possibly having the next version of these as USB C as they click into the device better than micro USB connections. Also means you don't accidently try plugging the cable the wrong way. That is the only reason for 1 star drop.Update Feb 2021The battery life has dropped from the original 3-4 days of casual use. Have notice this since Christmas 2020. Getting 2 days now. This item is 6 months old. Will be monitoring this review for changes in 6-12 months. As this is easily replaceable. I considered rechargeable batteries, but this is a safer option when you have young children.

A couple of friends have the Venom 'docking station' which they are happy with, but I decided to opt for the 'neater' solution. I am also aware of how bright the charging lights are on the docking station, which is very distracting. This product works perfectly and has no issues powering my controllers. I am getting about a week in between "controller battery low" messages, with an average of, at a guess, 1-2 hours of game-play per day. This means that the battery life is considerably less than it would be if regular AA batteries were used, but the benefits of using rechargeable batteries that you don't even need to remove from the controller far out-weigh this.My main and only complaint is the following of the "cheap electronics using super-bright indicator LEDs" trend,i.e. the ridiculous brightness of the charging LED. There is no need for it to be bright enough to project a green circle onto a wall some 10 feet away in a dimly-lit room, and it is extremely distracting. Easily fixed with a dab of electrical tape, however.

These rechargeable battery packs have completely replaced my charging docks.Pros:Playing while charging works really well*They fit snug on the controllerOther cables fit the battery packs nicelyCons:The cables provided fall out easily (personal experience)* You can charge the battery pack with a portable power bank, while playing. So you can use a short cable to minimize frustration. Multiple cheap power banks can help with multiple players, if you didn't want to be ugged into an outlet, or have to be really close together etc.Charging docks are better for players that have shorter sessions, if you're hardcore and have no life (or if you just have time to play games hehe)then these battery packs are for you.Tl;Dr They're good, you can play forever when plugged in. A power bank and a short cable helps you stay powered longer than you'd ever need.No more poxy low battery notifications. And if you do, plug it in for an hour while playing. Great.

Reviews I have read said the battery packs are a tight fit in the controller, and this is correct, but there isn't much of an issue inserting them. Removing the battery from your controller is a little more tricky but it's still manageable. Very easy to use - just plug one end of the lead into your controller with the battery inserted and the other into the USB port of your Xbox One to charge, and you can do this whilst playing at the same time. Once charged I estimate the battery lasts approximately 10 to 12 hours of gaming. It helps to have the 2nd pack charged because once you get the low battery warning notification on your Xbox, it doesn't last much longer - around 15 mins in my experience. If neither are charged then you can still plug and play - the lead is a good length to allow this comfortably (approx. 2 metres). This item is good value for money and they haven't let me down after quite heavy use for the last 2 months.

These are excellent value for money. A pair for £9.99 is perfect. The charger cable is a split design which means you can charge to controllers at once. The best feature of this battery pack is that it includes a micro USB port. This is great because it saves wear and tear on the actual controller USB port. Constant charging whilst playing has damaged the USB ports on both my kids controllers. This is no longer a problem using these batteries and when no doubt the USB port wears again, it just means new batteries. So parents, if you child's controller has a dodgy USB port or you want to keep their controller in tip top condition, I'd recommend this battery pack over others. In terms of how long these hold a charge, I don't think there is much difference between the Amazon branded ones I've bought in the past. I stopped buying official Microsoft ones years ago as they aren't particularly great value.

I previously purchased some of the venom batteries for my Xbox 360 some years ago and they'd always worked superb, so when I finally got my Xbox one console, it really wasn't rocket science for me to buy some of the venom Xbox one batteries.I'm not sure about the 1 star review below about the guy who's cable didn't fit as my batteries fit nice and snug inside my controllers and the replacement battery cover fit great also. As for the cable its about 2 metres so plenty of length to reach my console and still be able to play and charge as well, which is a great option. The cable itself fits nice and securely into the slots at the top of the battery, not lose at all.The charging time was a little over 2 hours and so far I've got about 16-18 hours of usage out of each battery pack, so for £14.99 they're a bargain :)Hope that helps.

These are perfectly good battery packs - say they'll do 18 hours and I recorded 16.5 hours of play with them, so when you factor in menu screens and such, yeah I reckon they exceeded that. They are easy to charge and don't require and ugly dock with a bunch of garish LED's on it - awesome-, so if you want a battery pack, I'd recommend these. MOne star deducted because... well... like all battery packs for the xbox1, they're just worse than using rechargeable AA's lol! You buy a battery pack to use in place of AA's, and they occupy more volume than AA's, but... well my testing has come back conclusive:Bog standard Duracell AA's - 56 hours game time.Energiser 2000mAh rechargeable AA's - 52 hoursgame timeThis pack - 16.5 hours game time.Just get a pack of 4 energiser rechargeable a with a wall charger and you're sorted lol

Purchased this set as a cheaper alternative to its official microsoft counterparts. If you dont play your Xbox much I would suggest buying these as I have had them for over 6 months now and I am still using them. With that said I am someone who plays for maybe an hour per day as usually in the week I am quite busy.On the occasional sunday of heavy gameplay 'the old saying ' you get what you pay for' rears its ugly head as I find myself reaching for the micro usb charging cable only slightly less than I get up to go to the toilet. On the plus side its by good design that the pack fits flush to the back of the pad a great desgn feature that means even if ypu misplace the back cover of the pad youcan still play with no problems (microsoft take notes)Occasional gamer looking for a bargain?look no further than these.

Just bought my first Xbox-an Xbox One S in fact-a few weeks ago, and it became clear very quickly that I’d be spending a fair bit of money on replacement batteries for the controller as it doesn’t have a built-in rechargeable battery like the PS4.I contemplated buying the dedicated Xbox recharging kit but thought I’d save money by buying the Venom kit. It consists of two packs of integral batteries which slot perfectly into the back of the controller with a slot to plug in the charging lead. The charging cable has a USB at one end and has two mini USBs at the other end so both battery packs can be charged at once. The instructions say that the battery pack should only be charged up when it’s in the controller but I charged both up directly to the mains and it duties fine.Pleased with my purchase.Read full review...

So i had a few problems with the new Xbox One S controller. Every time i had my headset mic plugged into the controller with my original wire to make it basically a wired controller, it seemed to make a buzz/static sound down the mic so all my friends could enjoy the lovely sound of static.I had tried the controller with normal batteries and it took the static away for them, this is why i decided to look for a battery pack like these Venom ones.So far they have worked a treat, no static sound for my friends as you plug the wire into the battery directly, which seems to fix it. Great product so far and very happy with it.The only thing i would suggest to potential buyers is: don't look into the green light on the battery directly, the light is stronger than it looks.

I've had mine for about 3 month's and I've not had any problems. I plug them in and the green light flashes usually takes overnight to charge it fully and when it's fully charged the light stops flashing and just stays green so I know when it's charged.A battery pack can usually last me a week maybe over but it does all depend on how long/often you play. I only play my xbox in the evening for about 3 maybe 4hrs.I haven't had any trouble with them.Oh the only minor thing I found was if you have a cover on your controller as I do (silicone one) you will need to stretch this a bit to get the battery in as it covers some of the battery compartment ,it isn't major for myself I'm not really bothered but just letting you guy's know.
