I like one pair of shoes for most everything I do: walking, hiking, jogging. My feet, back, and hips don't do well if I change shoes with each activity. For this reason, I was hoping these shoes would make a good jack of all trades. So far, they're working great. They're really very comfortable, especially under foot. They're stable and fit well. My teenage kids thought they looked pretty retro as well (I agree : ). As a Jack of all trades, however, they are master of none. I wouldn't run a race in them. I wouldn't do more than an overnight, light hike trip. I might use them as a walking travel shoe. What I like is that I can wear them most of the time for all the different things I do.

First Impression ReviewWow! I wear size 10.5 Wide and this fit better than expected. I have a wide foot and a high arch so fitting shoes is no simple task. That’s when I stumbled upon these trail running shoes. They’re a tad wider than usual to allow full range of motion and flexibility in the foot and toes as required by the varying terrain of a trail.I’ve never worn a pair of shoes as comfortable as these. Honest, personal opinion. I just got them today and took them out for a test run. Just a handful dashes and sprints with the kids chasing frisbees. Combined with the compression socks I bought and put on I’d say I’ve found a pair for the ages.I’ll edit my review in a couple of weeks after

I trail run. The shoe fits GREAT and the sole gives good traction. The best part is the ride! I am a supinator, but this shoe rolls right through and corrects my gait! I read complaints abut the strange "tail' on the sole. I have no idea what it is intended for, but it reduces impact on down hill runs:-) I've also seen complaints about the tail throwing sticks. I have had this happen a few times WALKING; but it has not been an issue RUNNING. They are a little sweaty. I think this is due to the perforated coating. I also use them on snowy trails over wool socks; they work great for this where waterproof gets really sweaty!

Forget the other fancy makes, these are just superb. I wear them every day and they feel like walking on air. They are light, once you get the laces right are easy to slip on and off with no tieing laces each time and keep your feet dry when its raining. My second pair of NB trainners, the first are still going strong (I wash them in the washing machine when they get dirty so they still look like new and they have not suffered at all - even after being tumbled dried a couple of times by accident). Cant fault - 10 out of 10...

Got this shoe as a trail running walking shoe. Best shoe ever for purpose. Not water proof but dries quickly and is super comfortable. Walked of rocks my whole trip thru Dolly Sods Wilderness where trails are really creek beds and my feet survived.Going to buy another pair for work.

Very comfortable shoe, they run big , I ordered a half size down and still have a little room. No complaints other than the shoe string colors/design that come with yellow, I immediately changed to a black pair. The Toe Perfect is more coating around the toe area which adds support.

Very comfortable for hiking over rocks and uneven surfaces. I haven’t actually run with these shoes, but they seem like they would be fine, though a bit bulkier than my usual running shoes. This is a very well made shoe - I’m probably going to buy another pair

Love these, best shoe ever purchased. Not tested if waterproof yet but comfort is unbelievable. 5 stars, anyone looking to spend more for a comfy trail trainer look no further. Cant get these in uk and were sent from Italy to Inverness in 24 hours, astonishing

Great for hiking and trail running.I've had close calls when I though my ankle was going to go e out like it tends to do. The shoe helped spring my foot back, avoided a week long sprain. Will order again.
