We have used Caro as a drink, it is for me the best tasting of the malt or barley beverages.As Amazon now stock it and its harder to buy locally since a major supermarket stopped selling it (no demand??) and there are only one very big health food chain that I avoid where possible, selling it locallyNow I can get it delivered to my door and its a few pence cheaper per tub, have to order three for free delivery-no hardship to meGuess Amazon wins more custom and the retailer loses more customCrazy world!!

As a former caffeine addict forced to give up on coffee due to having FMS/ME I was struggling to find a palatable drink so the Caro has been a good discovery. It does take a little getting used to, to begin with I found it bitter, but now that I have worked out my preference (pinch of Demerara sugar and a little full-fat milk) I greatly enjoy my mid-morning mug of Caro. If you're unsure at first, persevere, once you get used to Caro it is a really good coffee substitute.

I love this product. Unfortunately it is out of stock in Holland and Barrett, and is now being offered on Amazon at over twice the price - this is a big tub but still far more expensive than it needs to be. i'll have to take a spare suitcase to Germany at Christmas and stock up. Don't understand why it's not sold anywhere any more. The Caro Extra you can still get, but it's rather bitter. This Caro is smooth and delicate tasting, I enjoy it every evening after dinner.

A great substitute for coffee, it has a smokey, slightly bitter taste which I really like. I prefer the powder to granules as it gives a nice froth. Tip for preparing a drink, put powder in cup and pour boiling water in slowly to create a fine froth, then sprinkle a little more Caro on top of the froth, now shake some milk or alternative in a container until it's frothy and pour on the top and mix gently with a spoon.. enjoy.

I wouldn't look at this as a coffee substitute. If that's what you're after, you'll be disappointed. It's a pleasant, smooth tasting hot drink that is caffeine free. If you like Barleycup, this is very similar. I initially thought Caro was a copy of that, but it's not - it's actually much older.This is a good sized container that will do dozens of cups.

I buy this product for my wife, who likes it instead of drinking-chocolate! I buy it for her and she drinks it. I personally am not enamored with it, but we all different taste buds! It must be value for money as we keep coming back for more!

I have been drinking Caro for over 35 years, but all this time I have never had to order it on line, or for such a high price.It is far too expensive I might have to start drinking something else. I am very disappointed.

Even though, there is no remote taste to the coffee, it still makes for very decent hot beverage.It is smooth, toffee like delicious drink and the best of all, it is healthy and you can drink as much as you want of it!

I would highly recommend this Caro beverage as a healthy non-caffeine alternative to coffee. It was ordered from Amazon, and I received the item using the usual prompt and efficient delivery with my Prime account.

It's not coffee, but it has a lovely smooth taste and excellent with honey. Great non stimulant drink,quick delivery and cheaper than your health food chain.
