I MAY change this to five stars later. This review is only after my first cup. I am used to ultra dark roasts like Starbucks Italian Espresso Dark Roast(the standard that they use for all lattes) and Cafe Bustelo, Cafe Pilon(both very dark Cuban roasts from Miami). I use a Delonghi Retro (Amazon, like all my stuff) and a Krups grinder(yes, also an Amazon purchase).I quickly dumped the whole bag into an air tight container. Aroma is on the low side, but pleasant. Beans are much lighter roast/color that I normally drink. Lighter by quite a bit. I read here in the reviews that the best espresso is NOT made with dark roasts. We will see.EDIT: Later this same day, I changed my rating to FIVE stars from four.I found out how to best make Lattes using this Tierra. You must pull STRONG double shots...Twenty seconds (2 oz) or less. Use MUCH less steamed milk than you use with a dark roast. I found out that about 35%-40% LESS milk helps you better experience the smooth, complex flavor of this Tierra. Warning: This bean may not look or taste High Octane, but it IS! The caffeine content seems through the roof, even compared to my Cuban beans. I never get buzzed from a double shot of Starbucks or Buslteo. I DO, from this Tierra. That is a good thing. Do NOT drink any of this before Doctor's physical. It will skew the BP and pulse results. I am not kidding.I ground some up, not too fine, to pull the best shots using my $99 Delonghi. My first double shot came out a bit underwhelming. I brewed a second double shot waiting 20 seconds instead of my usual 30 seconds. MUCH better. I may have to get used to the roundness and complexity of this coffee. I am used to "in your face" dark roasts. I may have to transition slowly by mixing my remaining dark roast with the Tierra. Maybe 75% Tierra and 25% Starbucks/Bustleo. Don't cringe. EDIT: That didnt work too well. But I find a blend that I loved: 95% Tierra and 5% Starbucks. When the Starbucks is gone, I will never buy again. Boycott due to their discriminatory hiring practices. Lucky I found this Lavazza. I do love it.Perhaps my taste in coffee/espresso is finally evolving. I bought this brand because of a guy on DIsqus I met while commenting on recent politics. Somehow espresso came up. He mentioned Lavazza. He drinks another type. I chose the Tierra. Did I choose well? Are there other types/blends of Lavazza I should consider? It is a bit confusing sifting through all the versions that Lavazza offers.Tierra users seem the most passionate. So, I went with Tierra...for now anyways. Two pounds is a LOT of espresso! And $16 per pound is a lot more than the $5 per pound that Bustelo costs me.

Complex, maybe more nasal than some of the coffees I use in my Gaggia Classic. There's almost none of the Ethiopian velvety-slick feel, it's almost all European in taste, meaning the flavor tones are more coffee and less fruit and chocolate, the mouthfeel is clean and not coating/cloying. Great aroma from the crema, and great aftertaste, lasts twenty minutes or more easily. This makes a great straight doubleshot. I don't mix this one with milk/foam, it's good enough on it's own. I never have an issue with grind, pour/pull rate, or crema production. Not overly caffeinated, it doesn't have Robusta, causes very little 'over the temple' headache when overpulled/thin/underdosed,it's pretty temperature-insensitive.While I do appreciate some other coffees with thicker mouthfeel and darker flavors (Klatch Belle Espresso, Black Cat), this coffee is lighter and more 'focused' in flavor than those. I find I pull shots of this LaVazza about twice as often as I pull 'boutique' shots.Just solid coffee, and sets the bar for the standard bean I keep in my kitchen.

I'm a lover of Lavazza coffee and I've tried as many of their products as possible but you can't try them all. After a considered amount of thought on settling for a favorite one.Lavazza Coffee Espresso Tierra when it comes to the actual bean is mine. For me it covers everything I want in a coffee at an affordable price. The seller in this case has offered the best price yet and I'll be going back to them when the need for more coffee is imminent. The seller PureGusto was very helpful when there was a problem with the delivery. All down to the courier not leaving a card saying item dropped nextdoor. Nextdoor could have let me know they had a delivery for me. Hey you can't account for neighbours.Anyway the seller as I said did all they could to resolve the issue. All in all the coffee Recommended the seller Recommended. The neighbours thankfully we get on but I'm not sure they're sophisticated enough to share my coffee.:-).

I have now tried maybe a dozen different varieties of coffee bean, searching for the one I liked most. I am now on my second order of Espresso Tierra, which of itself speaks volumes about my enjoyment of it. What do I like particularly? Firstly it has a good strong flavour without bitterness and leaves a very pleasant (to me) after-taste. I am using a De'Longhi Magnifica bean to cup machine and sure you have to play with the settings to get the right result first time but from then on it is just a press of the button to coffee heaven with its pleasing taste and crema. Will I try some other qualities.....almost certainly yes I will be tempted at some point but if they are to beat this they are going to need to be incredible and my common sense says that is unlikely, but there again unless you try you don't find out.

A lovely, well rounded coffee. Has hints of chocolate and caramel and leaves a great after taste. Have tried a good few coffee beans, include most from PACT but I have to say this really hits the spot consistently and at a fraction of the cost of most small batch roasters.I see some reviews say this is bland and lacking but in my opinion it far outshines many of the other Lavazza coffees and has a nice depth of flavour. I drink this as an espresso or flat white made in a bean-to-cup machine and the addition of milk really brings out the chocolate/caramel taste while as an espresso it has none of the bitterness associated with most higher strength coffees.Sure you can get some great specializedblends and coffees and you pay for them so this sits in perfectly as a good base coffee for everyday use.

This is to Lavazza Rossa what a single malt is to a £20 blend - whereas Rossa is a solid, flavoursome and great all-rounder, it is clumsy in its dependable delivery of decent coffee flavour. The Tierra is a more refined beast with more fruity, floral flavours that the robusta of rossa blockades. With this blend, you get dark chocolate, vanilla and almost a slight liquorice note like you do from dark cocoa. It’s a superior flavour and one that suits darker, more roasted palates but is not bitter or acrid at all. It’s really decent coffee and a happy bridge between a “medium” and an “espresso” roast. I’d buy it again. Happy I did.

Lavazza Tierra Espresso is a professional grade of 100% washed Arabica coffee; excellent regardless of how you prepare it. I brew it in Moka pot, French press or Automatic Drip machine and it always results in a superb cup of coffee (maybe one day, when I can afford it an espresso machine hunh?). It's the top contender to be my daily driver of all the Lavazza coffees I tried so far. It contains some Rainforest Alliance certified coffees in the blend and is grown from disadvantage farming communities in Honduras, Peru, and Columbia supporting fair trade & sustainable development.

I have purchased this brand of Lavazza, as well as the Super Crema and Gran Riserva. I use them in my Alex Duetto Espresso Machine (which I couldn't recommend more). Of these three options, most of which I've tried from several orders, I find the Top Class and Tierra to be the best. The Super Crema has been the least enjoyable for me, mostly it has been bland. It's possible I have always received stale Super Crema beans. I usually make Latte's. I have also had Chris Black Pearl espresso beans and they are quite good for a nice change.

I got a 'bean to cup' machine early December and up until this order I found Illy the best. This is lovely, it has a good Crema works well in the machine and produces a good cup of coffee. I only fill the machine up with enough beans for a days worth of coffee and put the rest in the fridge. With this bag being HUGE I have frozen a good half of the pack with the rest going in the fridge. Whether this is right I do not know. Very good use by date and will certainly be buying more when needed

Lavazza offer several variations on their espresso beans. Of those that I have tried - I don't recall Pienaroma as being great; Top Class is good; Super Crema is tasty (and produces good crema) but not high on aroma; Crema E Aroma retains its aroma very well but is the most acidic of the Lavazzas; Tierra appears to be the hardest to find in the US but - in my opinion - combines the good aspects of all. So far, I've found it only on Amazon. Amazon also has the best prices on Crema E Aroma.

So I got it today...I opened the bag and the smell, the intoxicating smell already blew me away from the start. Then I saw the colour...the most beautiful dark chocolate colour. Looked like each one had been carefully picked. The feel of each one - nice and silky smoothThe sound of new coffee beans surgically ground to perfection. And then having all those four senses stimulated once more with a double shot of espresso leaving taste to say the final verdict:This coffee is exceptional

I have tried so many coffee beans in my delonghi Bean to cup machine and I’ve been disappointed with most. We loved the coffee served at whetherspoons so I looked into what beans they used and finally found these. They make great, smooth and strong coffee. One bag should be enough to last almost a month so value is great. The only downside is the bag is very hard to open in a way it can be sealed and reopened, so you will need some kind of container or tin to put them in once open.

Having tried many kinds and brands and blends of coffee, and definitely preferring Arabica above everything else, I drank only Lavazza Qualità Oro for years, thinking that it was unsurpassable...but this Lavazza ¡Tierra! is even better!! Strong, with an amazing colour and thickness and aroma, and no bitterness at the same time, and, and...just mouth-watering, a true addiction...

Was skeptical about buying the Lavazza Tierra, as I normally purchase coffee beans from local roasters. However, Lavazza Tierra was certainly a good choice if you are budgeting. Some fruity and chocolatey notes were noticeable, but only if the grind size (and all other variables) are fine tuned. The only disadvantage with this is that the beans were roasted three months ago.

This coffee is so nice I asked in the James watt pub what coffee they used in their machines I’ve been using lavazza rosa but this to be honest smelled awful when I opened it the other coffee had a nice aroma but I cleaned all the beans out my coffee machine and I’m amazed it’s the nicest coffee not strong and it’s now my favourite coffee by far nice one lavazza top marks
