I'd been using ground coffee in my cafetiere for some while, but people kept saying that freshly ground beans made better tasting coffee, so I purchased a grinder and these beans from Amazon on Prime Day.My initial thoughts were that they were a bit lacking in aroma when I first opened the packet, none of that glorious smell you get in a proper coffee shop, although I've not seen one of those locally for decades, sadly. My grinder did a good job of grinding up the beans to a coarse consistency, but my first go at making a coffee was disappointing.Adding a similar amount of ground coffee as I had with the ground coffee I had from Taylor's of Harrogate produced a rather weak and insipid cup.The next time I added about 30% more coffee and I was very pleased with the result. Its' a rounded flavour, not bitter, but not bland either.Someone mentioned chocolate and, whilst I've not really noticed that drinking it, there is a chocolatey aroma from the grounds left after a coffee, others may find this noticeable in the cup.Overall, now I've found the level, I like the coffee and enjoy the process of grinding the beans.I can't comment accurately on the effectiveness of the packaging in keeping the beans fresh. I could smell coffee even though I folded the opening over and sealed it down with tape, so I purchased a 2.5 litre plastic airtight box to keep the beans in instead, which seemed a small investment if I plan to use beans long term.

I like Lavazza coffee very much. My preference is for a strong and bold cup of joe, medium roasted. I purchased a 250g bag of ground coffee to try before I committed to a larger bag. I was keen to freshly grind coffee in the morning - so decided to go for a 1KG bag of beans which should last a month as I only drink one strong cup a day.Opening coffee bags is always difficult because it is sealed very tight - this is no exception That's a good thing in my opinion because it means it is well sealed. Once opened the aroma hits you; fresh, clean and strong. I decanted the bag into an airtight container and put it in the fridge as instructed.I just hand ground some beans and put it through my Aeropress coffee maker.First impressions, the cup of coffee is great and very close to the pre ground bag I purchased first - I didn't grind the coffee as fine as that bag though. I will go finer and report back - I expect it will be a stronger hit! These beans are really good quality and the resulting cup is flavourful and I look forward to experimenting more to get that perfect cup.*UPDATE* I finely ground the beans just now - not as fine as espresso but closer to french press - and put it through my Aeropress - these beans are really good - producing a smooth and rich cup of coffee. For the price, these are really worth it.

Our house is a coffee lovers house. We drink it alot (maybe too much ?) so we'd thought we'd give these 1kg bags ago. They are really nice. They make lovely coffee in our coffee machine. We have used them in a cappuccino (see pic), latte and a regular coffee. They are so versatile and taste great. They do have a hint of a chocolate but it's not over powering at all. It's a really mild hint. For this quality of beans the price is fair. Some other bean brands are upwards of £40 for the same amount which is crazy! The packaging is like a thick foil which is hard to rip open. Scissors would probably be best. My only issue with these is the bag does not come with anything to re-seal it to keep the beans fresh,so either a food bag clip or a coffee container is needed. We keep ours with a clip in the fridge and they have stayed fresh. We bought 2 bags of these and will definitely be buying these again. Freshly ground coffee everyday. Great job lavazza. ? from me!

If you are looking for a cheap coffee bean that's good for everyday drinking this is a great choice.I've found this to be about as cheap as I would go for coffee beans, it produces a nice coffee with my bean to cup machine that works great as an americano, latte, flat white and cappuccino. Produces a nice full bodied coffee with a slight acidic after taste.Personally find it too acidic for espresso and feel you have to spend more on 100% abarbica for that but for the price you can't complain.Would highly recommend for those out there that wants a good bean for the office where you are going through a bag every two weeks or so, so saving money helps! At the time of buying I got it for just under £8 which is a great price,I have seen the price rise up recently (probably due to the dreaded virus!) but I wouldn't personally spend more then £11 on it as there's better alternatives at a similar price.Overall everyone but the coffee experts should enjoy this.

I used to order the Lavazza Super Crema Coffee Beans but at nearly £17 a kilo it got a little expensive. But to be honest, the Lavazza Qualita Rossa Coffee Beans are not at all bad. A mixture of both Arabica and Robusta beans this blend produces a flavoursome coffee with a good crema. And certainly better than any coffee I've had in any of the UK based coffee franchises. Indeed I've only had coffee to compare as good in outlets across Spain and in particular, Portugal - not yet been to Italy so can't offer a comparison as regards coffees served in the home of the espresso!Given you get the grind right and you're pulling a good slow shot - I use a Sage [BCG820BSSUK]Pro Coffee Grinder alongside a Gaggia ClassicPro 2019 - you should get excellent results with this coffee.

I bought this 1kg bag when it was a £1 cheaper on here last month and i was very happy with what i received as the coffee was lovely. I normally by the lidl bean to cup coffee and always really enjoyed it and got told that it is very nice by all guests. I decided to spend a few pound more to buy this one and also really enjoyed it and i also received a complement from a guest too. although now the price has gone up i will go back to buying from lidl again, unless i see a good deal on amazon in the future ;). so overall nice tasting beans but the same nice as lidl's so nothing to big to shout about when they cost so much more!Give it 5 stars because it was nice and value for money is better than most other bags of beans its size,so it was only fair :).

We recently upgraded to a bean to cup coffee machine after several years using a nespresso machine. This brand came up as being the highest rated all rounder in coffee beans so, as we were newbies to beans, this was our first purchase. And what fantastic coffee it makes! I’ve seen more expensive beans that I also like the look of but, I’m reluctant to pay more when the coffee from these beans is so good. Maybe I’ll give them a try at some point when I fancy a change but honestly, these beans make such smooth and delicious coffee it will be hard to beat this. We take our coffee black but, I imagine the coffee would still taste good with milk/cream too.A great all round bean with a smooth taste to suit most coffee drinkers.

Quick delivery and good value for money.I’m not much of a coffee connoisseur (as this was a gift for someone who is) but I’m happy to say that they enjoyed this coffee. They’ve informed me that it’s a nice standard flavour - not too much to rave about - and that it creates an enjoyable everyday coffee. I understand that they used it to experiment with the coarseness of their coffee grinds, and that it was useful to have a lot of coffee beans to play with. With this in mind, the 1kg bag of Lavazza Rossa coffee beans appeared cheaper than in stores or elsewhere online. So keep this in mind if you wish to bulk buy/stock up or want to find good deals on quality coffee products.

Good coffee and bought at a price much more sensible than supermarkets. I aim to buy for £10 a kg (which does me for around 60 coffees as I do some single and some double. A double would be about 23g and a single I tend to aim for about 15g). In Tesco you would be looking at £2.70 for 250g so £12.80 for a kilo and it's delivered for free. You can save 5% join subscription but I like to vary with segafredo coffee (slightly more bitter taste). But the point is that this will cost you 15p for coffee beans when a bad (and I mean tastes bad and supports tax evasion) coffee from Starbucks will be £2.20. Make your own at home - much better!

I've tried many varieties of coffee beans, including other expensive brands here on amazon, with gold taste awards, yet I just keep coming back to this one for its smooth velvety chocolate taste.Sure, it doesn't beat the subtle sweetness and aromatic flavour of the 3 kgs of Blue Mountain coffee beans I once purchased atop Jamaica's very Blue Mountains from a farmer who handed me a large black bin bag filled with beans. But this is the best 'commercial' i.e. daily drinking coffee you can get.Burr grind on a fine setting and use with a moka pot to get the best out of it.Buy in confidence.

I have been drinking coffee for well over 20 years and this is one of my favourite ones. Thanks to my wife's order I have experienced the full bean version and it is an amazing experience. I love the sound of the grinder and it brings good memories of my mum grinding coffe in an electric coffee grinder. The smell of a freshly ground coffee is amazing and not replicable by any instant coffee. The lavazza always tastes great. It has a smooth taste doesn't have any acidic taste and it's perfect for a cafeteria. Three heap tea spoons does the job for me and it's perfect at any time of the day.

This coffee is so nice in an espresso / latte. I am lucky enough to have a bean-to-cup machine which produces wonderful espresso coffee or a creamy latte. I find these beans make excellent espresso and I use an espresso shot and top up the mug with steamed/frothed milk. Interestingly, when the beans are ground and brewed in a cafetière or filter machine I don't enjoy the flavour so much (ok so I know this is a personal thing, but perhaps try a different blend if this is how you make your coffee and stick with these for a lovely Italian style espresso or latte).

This 1 KG bag lasted me a month on a ratio of 2-3 cups of coffee a day, about 1.5 spoons of ground coffee per cup. Overall good value for money if you have your own grinder. I love the Lavazza coffee flavour but that is highly subjective. If you like chocolaty average roast taste profile then Lavazza beans would be a good choice. the bag is air tight, however once opened you will need to roll it to seal it but it will never be airtight, so you'll loose some of that freshness with time unless you have an airtight container or a zip lock mechanism of some sort .

I love this coffee, I use it in a Moka, french press and a peculator and it always gives me the best cup of joe vs every other coffee bean I have ever used bar a bag of restaurant quality beans I got my hands on once. It has a very smooth and well rounded body, I find in the moka it gives a very strong espresso and its quite bitter too I think its my moka but I'm not sure.I don't find myself getting sick of the taste of this coffee like I do with other brands coffee. It is a very high quality bean from a high quality brand how can you go wrong.

Lavazza is still my favourite and better value than illy.Fresh coffee on tap and works great for bean to cup and pump machines. (I use a double gaggia and also a single de-longhi) Also use a Krups burr grinder for de-longhi and french press and although a little coarser for the press its still a lovely taste with a reasonable crema also. - if you do not drink a lot of coffee keep in a good airtight container in the bag also as it does lose smell and flavour a while after opening (we are talking a couple of months - if weeks no problem)
