This steam generator iron is modern in styling and the red one is quite good looking too. The actual iron (the head unit) is lightweight and very easy to move around my board. The iron head has three basic controls: the temperature dial, the button to control the steam supply on or off and the steam boost button which gives you a short blast of steam at a higher pressure to the two lower settings on the main unit. The main steam generator unit is as most of its type reasonably heavy, but hey, it sits on the ironing board rest and you don’t move it except to set up and pack away. The steam generator has a removable water tank with a large capacity, so if ironing is your thing, it’ll keep you happy for ages. The tank has a button that needs to be depressed to remove it; this should stop any accidental loosening of the tank and water spillage, should it have detached. To switch the unit on press the large button in the centre of the control panel, the iron head unit will heat up in a few minutes and the blue indicator light extinguish, the steam generator will take a little longer. By default the low steam pressure will be selected, if you need more steam then press the right arrow to cycle through the next two settings and then the left arrow to cycle back to the low setting. I have found that for 90% of my garments, the low setting is more than adequate. The other indicator lights show low water in tank and that the auto descale/cleaning cycle is selected. To use the iron for dry ironing, do not press the steam delivery button or depress the button for steam delivery as needed. If you do not depress the steam button the iron will automatically cut off after 10 minutes or so. This is a safety feature to stop you leaving the iron switched and unattended. If you need to do lots of dry ironing then just depress the steam delivery button now and again when resting the unit.So far I have found that the unit does not drip water all over my garments, as my previous one did. The extra length (about 12”) of the cord/steam hose is very useful when doing sheets etc. where you need to access the ends of the ironing board. The self-clean system is a real bonus and saves you bothering to go through the normal manual descale/clean cycle. When the unit detects that about 5 litres of water has been used it goes through an automatic clean cycle and dumps the used (soiled) water in a separate part of the water tank. Therefore it all takes place at the ironing board and not by the sink. You need to ensure that the water tank is emptied after use though. If not then the soiled water tank could overfill.Lastly the unit has a locking mechanism to lock the iron head unit securely to the generator base, this makes moving it about before of after use much safer and easier. The unlock the head unit just depress the red button on the side of the unit, do not try to touch the white button that locks the iron on, as you may burn yourself, as it gets hot when the iron is locked into place after use.Do I like this iron? You bet! I would recommend this iron to anyone who needs to do lots of steam ironing. I’ve used it on anything from lightweight fabrics to denim and it’s a joy to use. If it lasts as long as it should, I would have no hesitation in replacing it “like for like”.A bloke doing the ironing… it must be good!

Now there's a statement I never thought I'd ever make! This steam generator has finally got me looking for things to iron and it's not the first steam generator I have owned before either. My last steam generator gave up the ghost before Christmas, not a Morphy Richards, but always did a good job of ironing, with a good amount of steam. After looking at the various models and features of the different makes, I was drawn to the 332006 for the features and design within the price bracket I had in mind. When it arrived, I was impressed. It looked good, was easy to fill the water container and easy to put into use. It came to temperature quickly, gave an awesome amount of continuous steam and the first shirt I ironed was noticeably better than any shirt I had ever ironed before, thanks to the amount of steam and the gliding of the sole plate on the material. I then tried it on some curtains which had been hanging for years with creases which had never gone away before, not even with the previous steam generator, due to having been in the packet for to long, no doubt. The creases just disappeared before my eyes and once done, the iron just locked back into place on the base with the cord wound around it and was easily carried back upstairs. So, as you can see, I am impressed by this steam generator. With three steam settings in addition to the heat settings, there's enough steam for the toughest job. The water container is large and easy to fill, with a light and beeping when this is due. After so many uses, the steam generator automatically runs a cycle to descale, not really something which is a necessity in our soft water area, but nevertheless, I'm glad it is doing it automatically, protecting itself for the future. As for the last feature to highly recommend, it's the auto switch off mode, which turns itself off after a period of inactivity. Hands up, I have left an iron on before and forgotten about switching it off after getting distracted, enough to think about plugging previous irons into a timer, but that never really worked, too impractical. It switches itself off! Yay! At last!Yes, I like this steam generator. The plus points are the design, ease of use, steam quantity, effectiveness, portability, water container size, auto descale procedure, auto switch off feature, beeps and light flashing notifications. The only minus points I have are few. As with all electrical devices, the electric supply cord could do with being a bit longer. Also, the water container is easy to fill, but with my bathroom taps, the design of them suits a slightly larger opening on the water container, not a problem, it just means a few drips to wipe off the side each time. Would I recommend this product? Absolutely! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

First thought is, now this is a large unit. Yes it is, however, it sits comfortably and stable on the ironing board and it does such a good job, you soon forgive it for being a little on the big side ! The water tank (the coloured part of the unit), holds a whopping 2.2 litres, so no need to constantly keep refiling every 5 minutes. The units detaches from the main base, you lift the water cap and its an easy fill straight from the tap. An indicator light will tell you when it needs refilling. Honestly, this iron does all the thinking for you ! When you plug the unit in the mains it beeps and then once again when you press the on button. You then have the choice of dry iron or three steam levels. The heat setting markings on the temperature dial match the International Textile Care Labels in our clothes, so no having to guess how hot to make it and, therefore, no accidental damage to delicate fabrics. The appliance heats up quickly and the temperature indicator light goes out when ready to go. And GO it does ! The iron itself is light and the ionic sole plate glides effortlessly over all the materials I tried, from silk to cotton and denim. It cuts ironing time drastically as creases are out on the first attempt, even stubborn creases. There is a steam boost button (if you ever need it). It is also easy to steam through double layers, hence making quick work of duvets and sheets. The constant powerful level of steam makes light work through a pile of ironing, almost making it a pleasure ! Furthermore, you can use the iron vertically to steam creases from clothes on hangers, curtains and upholstery. It has a generous 78 inches of mains lead. Another lovely feature is the automatic self clean. This keeps the iron functioning at its best and ensures no damage is caused to it by you forgetting to descale it. It just auto self cleans after every 5 litres that passes through it - wonderful ! The soiled water decants into a separate container. All you need to do is detach this container and empty the dirty contents down the sink. Easy !Other safety features include a locking function to ensure the iron remains on the unit when not in use or whilst being moved and a lovely feature for forgetful people, is that it automatically turns off, if the steam function is unused for 10 minutes. Great relief feature if you suddenly realize you have left the iron on when you are on the train !All in all a great investment, saving hours of hard graft. Anyone who hates ironing, may suddenly find it a joy after using this generator - and anyone who likes ironing, will now LOVE ironing ! Thoroughly recommended...

The steam generator iron arrived well packaged and unboxing was easy. The manual is very easy to follow with clear instructions. It’s great that the iron can be secured and locked to the base for easy carrying. This gave me added confidence to know it would prevent any accidents by it falling off the base. With the iron secured to the base of the generator I found it to be a good weight not too heavy and the build quality feels extremely strong. The design of the whole unit is sleek, stylish and the shiny surface gives it a very contemporary look. I find the little red indicator lights to be helpful because it shows at a glance exactly what steam pressure you are using or if you need to add water etc and the temperature dial is clear to read and stays in place until you wish to move it.Unfortunately, I have not had to use the cleaning function yet but I am looking forward to seeing how well that will clean. The tank holds a good amount of water and filling the tank is fast and easy however, I find it quite difficult to see where the water level is due to the density and dark colour of the tank so I end up taking the tank off and moving it from side to side to see if I can see the water move. The amount of steam that this steam generator produces is fantastic and I find it’s a very dry steam which doesn’t leave the clothes all damp after, it cuts through creases fast and without any dripping or splattering of water droplets I am so impressed with it. My only gripe is, when using the steam function and holding in the button once you release the button to stop steaming, the steam continues to come out for approximately 2 seconds which kind of surprised me a little but I am getting used to it. The cord is a good length. The sole plate looks and feels different to what I am used to but it is the best sole plate I have used in an iron I find it moves over the fabrics so well without any catching or sticking. I have done so much ironing since receiving this. I have ironed cotton, polyesters, silks denim, t-shirts, set fusing on to fabric, jumpers and more. The sole plate, it doesn’t even look used! I already own a very good top of the range steam generator iron so was very excited to use this steam generator. I am not going to compare them but I will say my top of the range steam generator iron does not appear to be so top of the range now!

Where do I start? Yet again Morphey Richards have surprised me again. I love their steam station irons and I loved the previous model. Well I thought they could not make a better one. Well they have. This iron is so light, easier to carry around. I was not apprehensive at first that it would not irin as well as the oldet model. Well it does. I am OCD about ironing, everything has to be perfection. Well it irons perfect. I swear it takes far less water. This model has a Intelligent setting function which perfect if you unsure the tempreture. Great for my husband. He tried it out too. He loves it. I have ironed 800 thread count Egyptian cotton to the finest silk. Perfection. On this new model there is no auto clean but it tells you when to do it. I like it that way. I have ironed so much more hours before i had to do the auto clean. Another thing I have noticed i do not get drips from the iron. I never did with older model even though i spend hours ironing always in steam mode. If you notice drips on your ironing it is probably from the ironing boards. Mine was on other models but honestly as yet no drips at all. Although I think it irons better it does seem to take far less water than older and other irons i have used. Being so light is such a big bonus. So easy to carry around and get out. I do always use ironised water. I honestly believe it helps our clothes etc they seem mich brighter newer and prolongs the life if the iron. I startrd using it on my last iron and it is not expensive, it is very cheap. I use a 50/50 combination as recommended. Definitely a 5 star as it is perfection. Note. I had another model on trial and when it eventually wore out i ran out and paid the right price for exactly the same iron. I would do the same again. Prior to using Morphey Richards Steam Station Irons I had about 4 other makes and more expensive. They were awful! Since using these I love ironing even my husband does. I am honestly OCD about ironing and it has to be perfection. This iron really does give perfection with suvh3 ease. I also have bad hands. Neuropathy etc and bad back. This iron is a dream the other model is but this is so much lighter and needs less water. Maybe even quicker?

I hate ironing, but love ironed sheets on the bed, so a good iron is a must. This one is easy to use and really does a great job of getting all the creases out of the sheets, even when they have sat in the ironing basket for a while. It even got out creases that my old steam generator iron did not manage and my sheets look as good as new and feel great on the bed. It also made short work of my husband’s shirts, which I really hate ironing! The temperature is easy to control and the ironing ends up quite dry, rather than a bit soggy with all the steam as other irons have left it.The tank holds a good amount of water and filling the tank is fast and easy as you remove this from the iron,I find it quite difficult to see where the water level is due to the density and dark colour of the tank. Getting the tank onto the iron was a bit fiddly at first but fine once I had figured out exactly how it fits. The cord is a good length, and there is a facility to wind the cord around the iron base for storage, although this is a bit fiddly to get right, perhaps a diagram in the instruction manual as to how to best do this would be useful. The iron is secured and locked to the base for easy carrying and for safety and this seems very secure, giving me confidence to pick the iron up and carry it around. Initially the release button was a bit stiff, but it is now easy to release the iron. The generator also has a cleaning function, but I’ve not had to use this yet. Then you turn the iron off, you have to keep the on/off button depressed for a few seconds or the iron will not switch off, it took me a while to figure this out. Overall, a great product.

I bought this recently and although it’s a good iron I honestly expected better, I expected it to be more powerful. It is quite good but compared to my old Morphy Richards purple and black power steam elite stream generator iron model 330004 It feels like my old iron was more powerful and had more oomph to it. I don’t understand this as this is a newer model that I bought compared to my old one and if anything it’s supposed to be more powerful and have better features like the steam shot/boost function which is a massive 310g of steam a shot and although my old iron was 190g steam power per minute my new one is 200g steam power per minute which is more and a slightly higher bar of 6.5 compared to my old 5.0 bar.All in all I still highly recommend this iron to anybody who wants a good quality efficient powerful iron that does a great job also I really like the new upgraded auto clean pour away feature which saves me a lot of hassle as my old iron always needed descaling and cleaning and was a not so easy process to do like the newer version. Also the reason my old one broke was because of the limescale cleaning problem it always needed cleaning and it was so heavy to handle but my new one is a lot lighter and is a lot more quieter, less noisy than my old one so i think it’s a really good iron and I’m really happy with how it’s making my shirts crisp and It’s really time saving as it cuts through your ironing really quickly compared to a standard iron. Once you have converted to the steam generator irons I guarantee you won’t ever turn back I know I won’t be. Really good . [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I was given the opportunity to trial the new Morphy Richards 332006 Power Steam Elite Steam Generator Iron (phew, that's a bit of a mouthful)! I've never had a steam generating iron before, and though the stalwart iron I've had for the past few years has a steam function, there's no power behind it.When the Steam Elite arrived I was almost convinced it was the wrong item, as the box was huge. Once unpacked I settled down to read the manual as the control panel looked like something off the Starship Enterprise. It turned out the panel was fairly straightforward, but then I discovered that if you live in a hard water area you need to fill the steam generator with 50% distilled (or demineralised)water. Luckily, my water is soft, but I do I think that for the price Morphy Richards could provide a 'starter' bottle in the box. After filling the reservoir with water I put the generator on the Iron plate of my ironing board, where it fits snugly. It didn't take long to heat up, and, after setting the correct temperature and steam quantity, I began. This iron has the most powerful steam generator and glides through a pile of ironing in no time. The iron itself is light, simple to use, and works extremely efficiently. With this model of Power Steam Elite you can dry iron, steam iron, and also use the steam generator vertically. This makes removing creases from hanging clothes, curtains and upholstery, a great additional benefit. Another benefit is the auto-clean function which runs after you've used five litres of water.I've now had the Power Steam Elite 332006 for about a month and continue to be impressed with it.

First Steam Generator Iron I have used and so far impressed. The Iron itself is fairly lightweight which makes using it easy and does not make your arm ache as some heavier irons can. For constant steam when ironing you simply hold in the button conveniently located on the underside of the handle so holding it in is no extra effort or awkward. You then get a constant and full amount steam. The steam unit itself has clear indicators on for more for less steam, the on/of button and indicates when more water is required with an audible sound as well as the light flashing. I have to refill it once as I iron a full wash load at a time. Once it has been refilled you do not have to wait long before it is ready to be used again. There is an extra steam button but I do not find that is needed if you are using constant steam and you cannot use both at the same time. The steam cord is long enough and that feeds the steam into the iron which in turn irons your clothes. I find it makes ironing faster and whilst I have read you only have to iron one side as it is so powerful that is fine for garments but I do turn sheets/duvet covers over to get a nice crease free finish. On the slightly negative side the actual power cord which the main unit is attached to is not that long which mean you need to be fairly near a mains socket when using it. You will also need a fairly wide ironing board so it can sit safely on the end.You will end up feeling quite hot yourself. Overall I would recommend this product as it does a very good job ironing. I have only just received this iron as a replacement for my previous one and so far it is proving a far superior product. It gets rid of stubborn creases with minimal effort on your behalf, the powerful 170g/min steam output is more than a match for even the most crinkled fabrics with an extra 300g boost function should you need it! It has a generous 2.2 litre water capacity which I find is more than enough to cope with a good couple of hours ironing without having to continually stop to fill up the tank. The power lead for the unit is of good length as is the iron cord from the unit which affords you plenty of reach, so the unit can be safely placed on a work surface away from the ironing board. The system also has a nifty system which locks the iron to the base making transportation really easy without fear of dropping it. If you don't use the iron for about 10 mins I think it is, the unit automatically shuts off which is really handy as sometimes you get called away to answer the telephone or front door and you can do so safe in the knowledge that the iron won't overheat whilst you are away. You simply hit the on/off button and the unit comes to life. The unit also has auto-cleaning which is another great feature as it is one less thing that you have to worry about or fear of getting wrong and accidentally damaging your iron. It really is just a case of switching it on and off you go, hassle free ironing with a great, powerful steam generator iron. I couldn't ask for more. Make this your next purchase, you won't be disappointed!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Ironing is never a favourite occupation but having taken delivery of the Morphy Richards Power Steam Elite I can honestly say that it meets all my pressing needs and more! This is a replacement for my earlier model and I am delighted. The capacity of the water tank is excellent. It allows you to get on an do a basket of ironing with the constant need to refill. The iron sits very well on the base unit - much more secure than before and the ample length cable means the unit can be positioned on a work surface near the ironing board. The auto shut off is very useful. Often when called to the phone or door the iron can be left unattended for some time and it gives me peace of mind to know it will shut off automatically.I always have a lot of bedding to iron and the powerful steam output makes quick work of even the largest super king size sheets and duvet covers. But this big beast of the ironing world has a gentler side. It is very manoeuvrable and has been designed to make it easy to iron shirts and small items, and I have found that from the most delicate silks to cotton canvas all respond well. Sadly I am one of those people who has to iron everything from underpants and T towels upwards so the iron is in daily use so the auto clean feature is a particular added benefit. There is no denying the iron is large but it is easy to carry about and its 21st century design means that I do not need to hide it away in the cupboard. What a cracker…From a man’s perspective, this is a great piece of kit and a joy to use.My old iron died so I have been looking for a replacement and after doing the internet dance came across this steam generator. After reading and watching lots of reviews decided this was the one for me, Having been used to a 15 year old iron decided to go for a generator this time round woo-hoo. Get me Well when it arrived for some strange reason as was so looking forward to giving this a go, I even saved up ironing for the occasion ( I must be mad lol )Well straight out of the box this iron looked great and different to what I thought an iron was, quick and easy to set up and get going with my big pile of to do’s.Long story short I was amazed how fast and efficient this iron is, straight through all my pile of ironing in half the time it would have taken my with old iron very happy  no need to fill the water tank every other minute and plenty of steam to get out those stubborn creases even on my jeans. Amazing how it irons both sides of my t-shirt at the same time and it cleans itself too bonus…Easy to store away ready to go next time, strangely enough will be very soon as the unit made this boring job quite fun ( now that sounds very sad I know ha-ha but true )Easy to register on-line giving a 2 year warranty excellent.Would I recommend this? Purchased as a replacement for a failed unit. My wife & I read more than twenty reviews on the various Morphy Richards Steam Generator Irons, & found the 332006 to be (our) ideal successor. Smooth, clean lines; ergonomic, & comparatively lightweight to transport from cupboard to ironing board. The power & steam cables store neatly around the base of the unit, adequately secured by a pull out clamp. A substantial 2.2 litre water reservoir allows for even the most mountainous pile of laundry, & glides easily through same; there is an extra steam jet button, for the more stubborn creases; most important for (us) was the 'auto clean' facility, saving time on descaling, & providing limescale-free results on the garments.A comprehensive temperature range - from silks to cottons/linens, & with it's Ionic sole plate, pressing any cloth is simplicity itself. Finally, the water reservoir has a sensor to warn you of a need to refill, but as already mentioned, the large capacity will doubtless suffice for one ironing session. This is an all round, superb ironing device, works steadfastly through your wash load, without compromising on finish; efficient, non-bulky storage; lockable iron to steam generator unit; easy-fill, & all the steam you shall ever need; extremely satisfactory price tag - consummate bargain !! Morphy Richards Steam Elitepower generatorThe first thing you notice when you unpack this iron is that it's extremely attractive. The black and red complement each other and no matter what colour your kitchen/utility room this iron makes a positive statement. So. One of my many phobias is limescale. Ask my husband, he would say it's my overriding phobia, so any appliance which minimises limescale immediately gets my vote before I even open the box. And what a box; strongly packed, informative and with a bold, eye catching design. If I'm picky I would say the whole boxed iron is rather heavy but once in situ the iron is a breeze to use (providing you untangle the steam hose first).Very important to read the manual - not all steam generators are the same. Water fill/disposal is simple (there are two distinct chambers for fresh and used water) and the instructions are easy to follow. Economical on the half tap half distilled water, despite the wonderful amount of steam generated.Makes short work of even the toughest ironing, effortless brilliant results using the incredibly efficient shot of steam. Finding the correct pressing setting is easier than many irons I've used; I was impressed by the accuracy of the dial.2 year warranty always very acceptable(Easy to Register on line as with all Morphy Richards products).
