Having wondered about steam generator irons for some time, I now understand the hype. I now whizz through a weeks’ ironing in what feels like half the time. The iron itself is lighter for not holding water. It takes a bit of getting used to in terms of the steam trigger and is noisier than a conventional iron which can be annoying if you like to watch tv while ironing. Overall however I am impressed with the performance and how easily it packs away to be stored either upright horizontally,

Bought as the cheapest available as I was half way through ironing when mine old one went pop.I was close to returning it as it was different - my old one did an "instant" blast of steam whereas this one "builds up" a head of steam - not a massive delay, but I did notice - and continues to steam after letting go (kind of wasting steam whilst you adjust the clothes only to have to build it up again). This said - great results (and I am used to it now) and the blue handles are great !

Very easy to use and produces plenty of steam, care needs to be taken on not having the temperature set too high. Build quality is great and the cord/plug storage is very compact and neat. Water container is easy to fill and lasts ages considering the amount of steam being generated. The only slight negative would be the temperature dial is easily caught with your fingers when picking up the iron, the dial would be better if it didn't move so freely, but overall this is a great product.

What an upgrade to my old iron. The iron is very light and easy to handle by the kids. I can easily refill the water while ironing without having to use a separate container to get water to fill as in some irons. It heats up very fast as well and removes creases quicker with the help of the high pressure steam system. A separate stand for the iron that holds it in place for vertical storage is a welcomed addition. I will strongly recommend this iron for any family or individual use

A switch from my last two irons which were Morphy richards. A neat design, fits on my counter top better than the previous ones. Has a simple on and off switch at the front which is accessible. Easy to fill water tank. However I instantly noticed it does not produce steam at the press of a button. I like to iron quickly and this delay either makes you miss the crease or waste the steam. But produces good amount of steam comparatively. Not sure if that bothers others as much.

Heats up quickly, good quantity of steam though can get a bit too hot so thats taking some adjusting to from my previous model which couldnt burn. Design of base seems a bit clunkier And iron doesnt sit so securely on it as some, but it was well worth the price I paid at Argos. Living in a hard water area and religiously descaling didnt save my much more expensive philips model after less than 3 years so I vowed I wouldnt pay as much in future.

Having used a standard iron for a long time I had high hopes for this improved iron. It is a great performing iron, effortlessly glides through clothes etc. with or without steam. However, base unit is very bulky, needs to sit on separate table and requires room around it to access on/off switch, re-filling of water tank and cables. Unable to stand iron up as I usually do on the ironing board quickly as the twin cable is in the way.

This has made my ironing 10 times quicker! I've used it for weekly ironing for 2 weeks now to get a good feel for it and it's way better than I expected. I only need to iron one side of the clothing and most items just need a quick going over because it's that good! The upright and cable storage are great additions too. If you're thinking of getting a steam generator iron, I highly recommend this one.

As a professional seamstress and busy mum, I need a heavy duty iron, I did allot of research into steam generators before I finally settled in this iron and I have not been disappointed. It's lightweight and easy to use, the water tank is large enough to get through a full basket with some spare, the steam is powerful and it cuts thrpugh the oroning in no time. It does exactly what it claims to do!

This is the first time we've had a separate steam iron and wow, what a difference it makes to a normal iron - wish we had done it years ago. We went for one of the cheapest as we weren't sure but it is fantastic. It might not have all the bells and whistles of the really expensive version but it perfect. The actual iron is soooo light as everything is in the separate reservoir.

I am very pleased with the Steam Generator Iron. It’s light weight and easy to use and I got my pile of ironing done a lot quicker than with my previous iron. I would highly recommend this product. Fab storage feature with clip at side to store cable. The water storage tank has a handle so makes it easy to remove when filling with water. Overall very happy with this product.

Pleasantly pleased with this iron- bought to replace a generator iron that cost 3x as much.It irons well, is smooth and weighs less. The only niggle- you have to wait sometimes for the steam to build up again in between bursts. My stirella simac had pressurised steam on tap but I can’t justify the price, compared to this, which isn’t quite as good but perfectly competent!

This iron is easy to use and I love it . The steam feature is perfect, Heating up the iron is quick and it sits nicely at the end of the ironing board. I like the feature that means when the iron not in use the plug can be stored in a socket on the side of the iron and also there is a clip to store the lead Having two handles to lift it to put away is also brilliant

Looks smart and modern . great storage facility for flex at the side of unit and also cable can be plugged into unit when not used so no untidy cables dangling from shelf when you store it. Useful handle at the front and removable water storage tank. Nice and lightweight too . Works efficiently . Seems a little slow to get to steam but fine after a while .

Have wanted a steam generator iron for a while, finally took the plunge and omg wish I'd have done it years ago. My family produce a launderette full of ironing each week and for the first time in forever i am on top of it.Iron is lightweight, steam is fantastic, glides through items and actually removes creases. Handy handles on the base for carrying too.
