I was a bit sceptical before buying because this is not like the common OUZO due to the masticha flavor addition.When firstly poured into the glass the masticha smell is a bit bitter and weird but if you leave it to rest for 10'' the smell becomes as it should be really!About the flavor, it is a blend of anise and masticha , masticha is more subtle as it should be - ouzo is all about anise after all. You have a masticha aftertaste after each sip - a bit bitter but not at all annoying. It's an unusual good combination!

Nectar for the gods this is!My Dad is a huge fan of metaxa and can easy finish a bottle a night, he’s not an alcoholic or anything, it’s just to tolerate my Mum, which I completely understand and need a bottle for when she turns up, it just so happens that my Dad is a big fan of metaxa and it’s the only alcohol he will drink, so I buy him bottles.100% worth it and something unique.

This brought the taste of Greece to my back garden - which was much appreciated with this year's summer holiday not being able to happen! It is very authentic tasting, just like the ouzo in Greece, and it is very easy to drink - so much so that the bottle didn't last very long at all! Really good mixed, around half and half, with cold lemonade. Really refreshing!

This ouzo surprised me! I'd not seen or tasted it before. (Personal favourite is Pitsiladi, but that's one difficult to get!)The mastiha adds a nice twist to this ouzo in smell and taste, but doesn't dominate at all. Just perfect.If you like to try a slightly different ouzo, I can recommend this one!

This is a super added OUZO . Anise taste is low but at the end you get a decent-enough OUZO experience for this price tag.Metaxa brand can of course do a much much better OUZO but possible they wanted to enjoy growing OUZO market at EU.

I bought this as a present for my dad. He loves Ouzo and has commented how great the flavour is. Definitely worth the money for 70cl. Highly recommended for Ouzo lovers out there.

From the great greek god of dionysus himself. Fun drink for relaxing and partying with friends. Perfect when sunning on a warm day by the water.

Aniseed type taste and lots of good herbs etc used, seems like a higher quality Ouzo, make sure you use ice to make it cloudy

The date in the bottle is the date of production, not expiry date. Spirits do not come with expiry dates anyway

Don't believe out of date reviews. It's usually the date it's bottled. Alcohol does not go off that fast ?.
