I bought this after seeing it mentioned in the top brandy list on Expertreviews and I am not disappointed.This brandy from Spain is up there with more expensive brands. It's very smooth and easy to drink. Loads of Vanilla and almond notes come through and has a delicious almost sweet taste.It tastes better than some VSOPs and XOs that I have had.I used a trick that a barman showed me in pouring hot water into a brandy glass for a few minutes to warm it up and then pouring in the brandy...make sure you pour the water out first.!!! This makes a subtle yet amazing change to the taste and drinkability.I would definitely recommend this if you like your brandy. I'm now eying up the XO version!!

When is a brandy XO? Technically it is when it is 6 years plus but the reality is much more time needs to have elapsed. The base test for me is the "bottom line" XO which is something like in-house Tesco XO. Now Tesco XO brandy is barely XO but it does pass the XO smoothness test albeit barely. In other words, it is comparable or just very marginally better than the main houses (e.g. Martell, Remy Martin, Hine etc) VSOP standard. So what about Carlos 1 Imperial XO? It passes such a test easily. In other words it is genuinely of XO standard and definitely better than any VSOP. Buy with confidence.

I have already come accross this brandy in Spain and normally pick up a 1 litre bottle for about 22 euros which is top value. As we have not been able to go to Spain in the current pandemic. I have had to pay 15 quid more for a 75cl bottle but it is worth it as I have tried all the brands out there and this still comes out on top. Such a nice flavour and is not really sold in England and if it is it is very expensive. I have seen other online wanting £45. So if you have never tried it I would recommend you do as I say it is better the Crovosier and Hennesy etc.

I'm a lover of whisky sherry bombs, so makes sense to try this product. First few pours, very subdued character, amazingly smooth, to the point of wanting more. After a week or so, it starts to open up, not as complex as the best sherried whisky, but much more flavour than the initial pours. Raisin's, figs, hint of oak and old leather and dark sugar, medium to long finish. A high class spirit for amazingly low prices, my bottle was £40. Exceptional presentation, feels special. More complex than the none XO version, but that is fantastic also.

An excellent Spanish brandy, in my opinion, but taste is both subjective and personal. Is it worth the premium cost versus the slightly cheap Carlos 1 brandies available? For me, as a "treat", I think it is. However, I never worry about "notes and nuances in the flavour" as some so-called "experts" mention in their reviews. Who wants to analyze a drink, when the pleasure comes from the overall combination of these subtleties? Not me! Pour it, sip it and enjoy it.

I have been purchasing this product for many years, both in Spain and in the UK and still find it to be excellent. However it was interesting that my most recent purchase prior to this one was at Stansted airport, and the strength was indicated as 38 percent, while this one was 40 percent, which was pleasing. Perhaps the fact that it was supplied from Germany was a factor, but I am certainly not complaining!

I bought this for my dad who loves the original Carlos 1 and he was not disappointed, he said it was delicious, even nicer than the original. The box it come in is very nicely presented and the bottle is stunning, delivery was not the quickest I would allow for 4 days min but still if you like Carlos or any brandy you should definitely try this. Well worth the price

A surprise for my wife. Due to many intolerences, she only seems to be able to drink Brandy. We are trying a few different ones. She loved sherry so this was a good bet. Strong sherry overtones to start with but then the smooth vanilla overtones and other ingredients come through for a very satisfying drink. Good price and think i will be ordering this again. ?

As a brandy lover I was sceptical as a lot of brandies taste similar. Even courvoisier XO wasn't much better than the original. This blew me away. It's extremely well presented, very dark and tastes delicious. This is one the best brandy I've ever tried and one of the best spirits I've ever tried. 10/10

Bought as a Christmas treat following years of enjoying various Spanish brandies including many a Carlos III with my late father. This did not disappoint. Toffee aroma with warming mellow taste of figs and nuts. Just know the old man would have approved of this one after a good meal and Rioja.

I have tasted this brandy over many years and it is one of my favourites if not my most favourite of all the Spanish Solera brandies. I bought it on Amazon because i cannot source it in my town, and delivery was prompt and on time.Very pleased with the purchase.

Arrived a day early, very happy about that! Unfortunately the actual box for the bottle is damaged looks like it was squished in when packaged and this is a gift for Xmas so was hoping it wouldn’t be. Other than that very pleased bottle looks lovely.

My husband has drunk Carlos 111 for years with the occasional Carlos1 as a treat, he has just turned 70 so I thought I'd get him something special and he was not disappointed he says this one is the best brandy he's ever tasted it's exceptional.

I buy this when on my holidays and tried other brandies whilst in lockdown with no great success. I was very pleased to find this on-line and though obviously dearer than in Spain, I love it and if still no holidays, will buy again.
