This is one of my favourite Cognac's (and when I say favourite what I really mean is favourite at a budget where you don't have to take out a second job in order to enjoy the odd tipple). It's great slightly warmed and the aroma is to die for. The taste is smooth as silk without any harshness at all which allows you to savour the flavour that little bit more. This is the perfect digestif after a good meal and one that you will be returning to if you haven't tried it before. It is nothing like the other cheaper mass produced brandy's like three barrells or courvoisier (both of which are harsh throat burners in my mind with the latter having almost a fake colour to it which makes me suspect how genuine it really is).

Quite a fan of cognacs and brandy's, theirs nothing quite like enjoying a good book on the winters night in front of the fire while having a quality tipple and this is a quality tipple. Having mainly stuck to Hennessy and Martell in the past I thought I would expand the pallet to Hine. Wow, just wow. Deep flavours, lingering taste and scent that your could just saviour all night without drinking. Recently tried Henessy XO (with its crazy once in a lifetime price) and this blows it cleanly out of the water. This tipple I think proves a bit of an age old theory that a higher price like Hennessy XO does not always guarantee pound for pound quality.I hope this review helped you. If so,

Was shopping around for a decent brandy for sometime, mulling over the likes of the Hennessy XO and even the Paradis. Was recommended the Baron Otard Gold but couldn't seem to find a suitable supplier and in my search I was recommended this Rare VSOP instead. For the price I thought it was worth the punt so purchased it. Frankly I couldn't be happier, bottle and box are of a decent design and looks great on the drinks cabinet. The brandy is creamy and smooth and most certainly tastes a league above any VSOP I've tried and even some XO's. Will happily purchase again when this one is done!

This was a present for my son so I can't comment from my own experience. However, the packaging was very good - lovely shaped bottle which doesn't look at all like a whisky bottle so it kept him guessing until he opened it. He was delighted with the whisky as he had previously sold it in an upmarket cocktail bar where he worked for a short time, but had never tasted it. I have been told that he found the taste to be very velvety and smooth and so I count this gift as a 100% success and would certainly buy it again for the right occasion.

I bought this as a Father's Day present for my husband. He loves his brandy. I was disappointed that although it was marked as in stock it wasn't and I had to wait a few extra weeks for it, meaning that I missed Father's Day! That said, the company stayed in touch so that I knew when it would be dispatched and I could have chosen to cancel it had I wished.The brandy itself didn't disappoint and my husband is still enjoying it.

I cannot claim to be an experienced cognac or brandy drinker but I have tried one or two in my time. The first thing you will notice when you buy this is how beautiful the bottle is presented. Then you will pull out that cork (which is always more satisfying than unscrewing a cap). After pouring yourself a glass, you will be introduced to a drink that looks and tastes like something that should be beyond this price.

I have et to try Hine XO, but this VSOP is good for everyday drinking. It is smooth, with an easy flavour and so is great for guests as well as myself. Also nice on ice cream as an easy dinner party dessert. But primary use is for a pre or after dinner drink. Much better and more sophisticated than the more well known brands you'll find in the supermarkets, and featured in US rap videos.

I'm a confirmed scotch drinker,but this........eclipses my favourite tipple.Never thought it possible,but it's lovely.Smooth,yes,fully flavoured,yes,worth the money? Well,I grudgingly have to say,yes.Ideal for Christmas,or New Year......birthdays,perhaps,or a special occasion.Bells for everyday,Laphroaig for weekends,this for those EVENTS in the year.

Possibly the best Brandy I have tasted so far... So smooth and mellow, with a beautiful nose. Has a very pure taste, very fresh... A sheer pleasure to drink. My previous favourite before this brandy was Courvoisier VSOP but now this tastes harsh and not in the same league. Quite easy to see half a bottle disappear without any effort whatsoever!

Great VSOP, a little more pricier than VSOPs from some other big houses, but definitely better quality. Not great at describing the nose/tastes/finishes, but for me, this is in my top 3 VSOPs, bearing in mind, taste is subjective.What's even better is that this came with a presentation box (despite description saying otherwise)

You know from the heavy decanter like bottle and lovely wooden stopper that this is going to be special. It is a step up in price from the more common VSOP cognac brands like Courvoisier, Remy etc but its a step up in all round quality. In a steam heated large brandy glass, its wonderful stuff.

Usually an XO drinker (see my other reviews). This is the best VSOP out there. It has hints of a highland malt and is perfectly balanced and agreeable to most British tastes. In all honesty it is preferable to many of the XOs and is now my default cognac. Excellent and very highly recommended.

I was given this as a gift years ago and loved it.I can say that I still do.I don’t know if you can get this cheaper elsewhere but as you can see from my history; I am Amazon’s bitch and I pretty much buy everything here.Don’t drink this to get drunk, you actually want to enjoy this.

This is brilliant and for just over 30 it was a bagain. Super flavourful and moreish. Did half the bottle in one sitting without noticing. Should've stocked up as this is something special. Superbly presented and the bottle is heavy duty too. Very very impressed
