Having been a purely Scotch Malt fan and connoisseur for over 40 years, I was gifted a Japanese whiskey a year or so ago. Since then I’ve mostly stuck with Scotch but was impressed with the alternative from the Far East. On to this Nikka offering. Super is just that... Super! The label advises “rich & smooth”. And they weren’t wrong. It’s exactly that. I find most whiskeys need a bit of water but Nikka Super, even at 43%, can be enjoyed neat too. This whiskey impresses in a number of ways and if you can get it for around €33 like I did then you’ll be more than happy. A great whiskey.
