You have got to admire Remy Martin. Unlike many of the other well known drink brands, it remains in family ownership and has resisted the temptation to sell out to the global conglomerates. This is admirable and explains in part just how and why it has been able to maintain its quality over the years. This is a fine champagne cognac that is dark and spicy flavoured. It is smooth too and is certainly a cut above some of the harsher products on the market. I would recommend this to anyone who has a taste for the good things in life and appreciates the subtlety of a fine champagne cognac. So why only four stars and not five? Well I certainly cannot grumble about the quality of the cognac itself,

When you are drinking Remy 1738 ! I have been lucky to enjoy various labels from many regions. From harsh, burn your taste buds, mouth and tongue. Cheap own brands to expensive fine cognacs, £1000+. Remy VSOP is a pleasing after dinner tipple, and once warm it glides down with a bit of a bite. The 1738 is the one I enjoy more, as once it is at body temperature it will leave a glow as it flows down my throat and then becomes a fireball which blossoms in your stomach. Even after several large ones I have never had a hangover. Perhaps that is why it is the only spirit that can have the word " medicinal " as a prefix ? To me it is nectar ! Happy New Year !

After reading some reviews here I felt I "must" add mine as for many people putting this brand down.I have to start with fact it's not a brandy but cognac...which makes this fine spirit standout from others in taste color smell. I started with Remy several years ago and had the opportunity to try different casks ages etc..you have to have a palete for this ones to appreciate the value.Like someone said here "if you buying this one you should have known already what you getting (Remy brand)"...if you like cognac you dont buy brandy..if you like whisky you dont buy bourbon

If you get this for £30-£35 you have a bargain and if it's £40 it's still excellent. It's a genuine attempt to fill the gap of big price/quality difference between VSOP and XO and I think they have done a good job, it's a step up in terms fo quality than their VSOP and you don't have to pay £100 plus for their XO. It's nowhere near their XO in terms of quality, but what do you expect for something less than a third of the price. Enjoy.

There are several very good Cognacs on the market, but for me, Remi Martin is one of the best, if not the very best. Very smooth and powerful, this Remi Martin "1738" cognac is one of the best I've tasted. When I drank it in my local before it closed, it was always a toss-up between this and the "XO" that was next to it on the shelf and excellent value for money. I will be buying another, "1738" or "XO" when I've finished this bottle.

Usually I'm not buying this kind of stuff, but this time i couldn't resist myself to get it while it was on discount. i bought it for myself, but definitely can see it could be a gift for someone. It comes in nice looking box and bottle looks well presented.Remy Martin is a well known company with big history on making really good alcohol. No doubt this is a really good bottle to have . Will buy it again when it will be discounted ?

As i get older, i find my taste in liquor changing. I tried this at a local cocktail bar and i've never had such a smooth brandy.As you get this in such a beautiful box, it instantly raises peoples interests. Pour this over some ice and as it settles you get the most beautiful smooth taste.A must have and as i approach the end of my first bottle i'm already eyeing re-purchase

I think I was expecting a bit more. Like another reviewer I found this pretty harsh to the taste and a thin liquid rather than very slightly syrupy. It does however have a very nice nose. Nevertheless, it's drinkable and didn't cost much more than RM's regular variant. I suppose I could just open the bottle and sniff, in which case it would last a very long time.

I always pick a nice brandy to have at Xmas. I had this in 2017 and I am very tempted to order it again.I won't attempt to describe the flavors, as the product description and other reviewers have already done that.I'll simply say that I was very happy with this. I found the more I drank the happier I got, so I think I'll pick up a another one this year.

Flavour:Absolutely fantastic. Admittedly I am not rich enough to drink XO so this to me is as close to that as it gets. It is a step up from VSOP and you can definitely feel the difference. The Remy Martin Accord is very aromatic and absolutely delifhtful.Value for money:Excellent. For under £40 you get a premium bottle of cognac. Can't argue with that.

I gave this to my wife as a gift and she was absolutely thrilled. Obviously I had to assist in the taste test and I can confirm that it is rather wonderful stuff :-)The bottle comes in the case as shown in the picture and the bottle has a cork stopper (with plastic grip) rather than being a screw-top type.Go on, treat yourself, it is fantastic.

Brilliant. This is my second bottle.Tried several Cognac's and this is so far my favourite. Very smooth with no after burn a true delight to sip and leave a simply review: This is simply the best. Reviews are always subjective but trust me - you need look no further for a supreme Cognac at a very acceptable cost.

THIS WAS A GIFT FOR A COLLEGE AND WAS REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE PRICE AND THE FACT THAT IT COMES IN A PRESENTATION BOX. IT ARRIVED AS PROMISED AND WELL PROTECTED, YOU ARE ALWAYS WARY OF BOTTLES COMING IN THE POST.I PRICED THIS IN A WELL KNOWN SUPERMARKET AND IT WAS £50, SO A GREAT BUY.

Really smooth tasting, flavoursome brandy. I bought it as a little tipple for my mums 70th birthday as she's a huge fan of Remy Martin. She loves it. I had a double measure and I was also impressed. The casing is class and to is the brandy and bottle. I would definitely recommend.

Very, very good. Without a doubt would buy it again you can drink this all day and i gladly would. It has a nice spiced flavor and is generally well received.There are other reviews that go into more detail but once again overall it is a very good cognac.
