standard Glenmorangie single malt is my preferred whisky. I am not an expert in the many varieties of single malt but, I would encourage whisky drinkers to give this one a try.I thought I would treat myself and try of one of Glenmorangie's more rare breeds, I'm glad I did! What an experience. After decanting and pouring, the complexity of taste and bouquet is extraordinary. I tried it 'as is' first, trying my best to separate out the different bouquets ascending my nasal passage, citrus, sandalwood and floral and on the taste side leaving it to gently flow around inside my mouth, smooth thick spicy orange, honey and chocolate. It is a great whiskey but at that price range it has fierce competition. I personally like more complex and stronger flavour, so glenfiddich and glenlivet 18 have a slight edge over it. It is very smooth, just a bit too much for me but others may like it.Perhaps because it has spent 15 years in American oak followed by 3 in sherry oak casks the colour isn’t as deep and dark as MacAllan sienna for example which was cheaper by £15 before getting pulled out, so I would say it isn’t as much value for moneyThe packaging is head and shoulders above the other two distilleries so it works fantastic as a gift because it looks lot more expensive than it is (that ‘extremely rare’ tag helps).

This is a very fine whiskey, easily my favourite and probably the best one they make (depending on your tastes of course!).It’s very smooth, has a lovely single malt taste (don’t ask me to describe it tho) - if you like the 10 yr old, this will blow your mind and if you buy this, you won’t be able to go back to it!To me, it’s nicer than the signet that costs at least £120 a bottle.

This 18 year old spent its first 15 years in American white oak bourbon casks. After this time, 30% was transferred to Oloroso sherry casks where it spent its final days, as the rest remained in bourbon casks. After 18 years has passed in total, the whisky was reunited and bottled. This is a prestigious thick, creamy and fruity single malt presented in a wonderfully value for money.

Glenmorangie is becoming one of my favourite distilleries and this is one of my new favourite 18 year old scotches. I get lots of creamed peaches on the nose with deep toffee, caramel and fruity sweetness. Certainly not a cheap whisky by any means but well worth it in my opinion. The box it comes in makes for a wonderful gift too.

Bought this as a Christmas gift and definitely worth the purchase. Flavour is incredible, smooth rum-like sweetness and far far better than my lagavulins which I love so dearly and regularly buy. This will become my go-to bottle of whisky.

Bought for my hubby for Father’s Day so I can’t comment on the taste. However, the whiskey arrived well packaged and the presentation box was in perfect condition and looks really good. Think the hubby will love it.

If you like the original 10 year old then you will love this. The 18 year old takes you to a whole new level of satisfaction.An incredible, enjoyable whisky that is worth every penny.

I simply love it! This is a whiskey with character, yet smooth and rich in flavours and aromas. If you are considering, just go for it because you can't go wrong.
