Half a size too large, so I'll be getting a half size smaller gloves. The trail glove 4 is very different from the trail glove 5.Trail gloves 5 don't have the same barefoot feel as 4s, the toe box is wider and the shoe itself is a bit more stiff. It might change when it's broken in a few miles later. There is some arch support and you can feel it while you walk, even on carpet but I don't mind for now.Even though on the picture the 4s look smaller than 5s, that's not the case, somehow 5s are wider and longer when they are on. Aqua colour is quite a bit more saturated than in real life than in pictures, so that's a thing to keep in mind if you were going for off white.I like the 5s middle better since they have the standard lacing system and not the burrito top like on 4s.The laces are again too long, like on all Merrell shoes and exactly the same as on 4s, those could have used some improvement.

My feet are a 4.5 wide, and that's what I bought, and they fit perfectly. The interior is comfortable, nicely finished so that they're instantly comfy.Sole protects from stones - you notice they are there as a difference in texture (rather than as "Ow a stone, Ow, another stone that you get with their Vapor Gloves), so if you want some ground feel but some protection these are great. The soles are flexible, not so much as the thinner Vapor Gloves, but then you have less sole protection there too, and not so much as any of the Vibram FiveFingers. Similar in flex to my Trail Glove 4sMuch more arch support than the Trail Glove 4, which really only cradles the foot. This has quite noticeable arch support.Uppers are nicely breathable.Well worth a buy, so long as you like arch support. A good transition shoe from standard to barefoot

I originally read reviews that these ran big and decided to order my normal dress shoe size 6.5. I ended up returning them and getting the 7 which is my normal fitness shoe size. If you plan to run or hike in these, go with the size of your nike or other exercise/hiking shoes. The toe box is wide, but it is comfortable and meant to be that size for running blister free. When I went down the the 6.5, my toes hit the end when going downhill which would cause major blistering had I kept them. Overall, the tread on these is great and they are very comfortable. I have high arches and these have decent support.I have hiked a few times in these as well as used them mountain biking and have really liked them.

i've worn salomon trail runners for about the last 12 years but decided i needed a change when i started having ,knee problems after my last pair (not a slight on trail runners - still think they're a great shoe, just wanted something new). put these trail gloves on in the store and immediately decided i would never, ever take them off. they are so comfortable. they completely revolutionized my runs. they helped with my knee pain (clearly some issue with arch support or something like this with my last pair). i absolutely love them. contemplating buying a second pair just so i have a backup when these wear out. best running shoes i've ever had!

As per previous reviews, I wish I had read them before ordering, I normally size up in trainers and running shoes but with these there is no need due to the width of the toe area allowing plenty of room compared with a normal pair of trainers. Some have also complained about the arch support area in the shoe being a problem. As someone with high arches who can find it difficult to get slip on boots to fit because I can't get my foot down into them this is not a problem for me, but might be for some people. Over all a good fit, but certainly would not pay full price for them in comparison to some of the other vibram footwear on the market.

These shoes are wonderful...fit well, provide traction and support, stay tied, are a great color, and were a good price. I inserted a Merrell shoe liner from another pair of Merrells & it was perfect. My foot is somewhere between a narrow & medium so it helps to fill in with an insert. I have had other “barefoot” shoes that have been thinner. These have a little bit more substantial sole which is great. From day one, these were perfectly comfortable and I am wearing them almost every day. Have a pair in teal-green-blue & a pair in gray. Will look to buy again. Highly recommend!!

I've got neutral (meaning I don't overpronate or suponate) long narrow feet with very high arches. These shoes hit my arches nicely whereas most shoes don't even come close to reaching my arch. I used to wear Merrell's bare access arc shoes for years, but looks like they stopped making it. This shoe was easy to transition to. A very similar feel.I wear these shoes for running, lifting, and everyday use. (Even though I know the trail tread wont grip as nicely on smooth surfaces, It's still worth the nice fit. And I'm not playing lateral sports in them like basketball or tennis.)

Shoes have just arrived and this is only my first impression before actually trying them outside:+ wide toe box+ flexible+ light+ low with zero drop heel-toe- arch supportArch support bugs me a little since I expected more barefoot feeling with no support.Otherwise, I'm very satisfied with the product and fast shipping. If anyone is in doubt about the size... My feet are 24cm and 9cm wide, narrow heel and normal instep, low volume and normal arch. I wear shoes that are wide enough and don't squeeze my toes. I ordered uk5.5/eu 38.5/25cm.

I bought these for my partner and am now really jealous and will soon order them for myself as well. TrekkInn had the best price by far for NZ customers, far cheaper than retail in stores here. I currently run in the Merrell Bare Access, but the design and materials used in the Trail Glove just seem better, especially for real trail use. These are super light weight and perfect for those who run in the natural barefoot style (mid- for fore-foot striking). Merrell does these better than anyone else, IMHO. Definitely recommended!

The picture is accurate to what I received. There is little to no arch support. The toe box is roomy. My feet are a true 7.5 but I normally wear an 8 and ordered an 8 and it was an exact fit so I would recommend sizing up half a size. These shoes are very light weight so light weight you feel like you’re walking barefoot with that said if you step on rocks you’ll feel the edges. I enjoy how lightweight but I do wish they had better insoles.

Nothing to say about these shoes, I am a fan of Merrell trail glove ... used to trail glove 4, I had to return the first pair of glove 5 because the shoe size larger ... 1/2 size smaller and that's perfect! (Too bad the site's size guide does not take this into account ...) Another difference is the reinforcement under the sole of the foot present on the 5 ... to see if it is not too annoying at the use...

The shoes themselves are very nice. After reading reviews, specifically for shoes around my size, I decided not to size up and to get my normal size. They’re a whole finger too big. They have amazing arch support but it hits a little too high on my foot. I plan on trying to break them in a little and see what that does for me. Overall nice shoes, just run a little on the big side.

I absolutely love these shoes for everyday wear and running cross country. Very lightweight and sturdy. I generally wear a 9 in shoes but Merrels seem to run a bit large the 8.5 of a previous version and this style fit me perfectly. My feet are average size however my arches can bother me with many shoes, these work great as they come as they have a supportive arch built in.

Love these shoes so far! I hate bulky running shoes. So I love the low profile of Merrell glove shoes. This is my 2nd pair. 1st was a pair of Merrell glove 3 or 4, can’t remember which, and I loved them but wanted something a little sturdier this time. The trail glove 5 is perfect! Great arch support, and the sole is thick enough that you don’t feel every pebble you step on.

Third pair of Merrells I've owned. I needed to get out of a pair of Trail Glove 4s that were too small, and I'm glad made the switch to the 5s. The mesh-like material across the front of the shoe is soft and flexible and doesn't fray like the 4s did. The soles are thinner than those on the 4s, but thick enough to now feel every rock when on trails. Will definitely buy again!
