Maybelline Color Sensational Powder Matte Lipstick is a very nice lipstick and as stated it is a matte lipstick, therefore, I would recommend you exfoliate your lips well prior to applying this lipstick as I find with matte lipstick it can have a drying effect which would show up any dry or sore skin you have on your lips especially in very cold or hot weather. I have tried a couple of different colours in this range and though my favourite was the 10 Nocturnal Rose, asI like the deep rose colour this lipstick provides and it did last, though I did have to reapply a couple of times through the day especially after eating or drinking.Maybelline Color Sensational Powder Matte Lipstick 10 Nocturnal Rose is a very fashionable lipstick and the matte look is in trend at the present time.If you like a more gloss finish you can easily add a gloss to the cupids bow and lower lip.The Smoky taupe was a nice fashionable colour which allowed me to wear a stronger eye cosmetic as the taupe created a nice natural taupe colour which though was not distinct in colour it still provided a very nice look which is certainly very trendy.A nice lipstick which I am happy to recommend.

This is a gorgeous lipstick from Maybelline, and I'm tempted to squirrel away a few in case it gets discontinued it's that lovely. This dusky rose with a hint of dulce de Leche caramel is a beautiful colour on a range of ages, this was recently tried on by 4 generations of females aged from 5 to 87 and despite differences in colouring and styles it suited every one of us.That is good going for any lipstick let alone a matte lipstick which are notoriously difficult to carry over a certain age.It is a little stiff to apply, but I felt this was good for getting a good application straight from the bullet, essential if carrying in your bag, and the stiff texture meant you could feel its longevity, this isn't a lipstick for someone if they don't like to feel their product. The lipstick held its pigment and finish ages too which is good going, it survived drinks but not eating, though to be fair I was eating Nepalese curry so I don't expect much to survive that deliciousness.Overall I love this lipstick and would certainly wear this anytime and purchase again.

This is the review of the Nocturnal Matte and Concrete Jungle shades (there are a total of 5 shades: Nocturnal Matte (pink), Cruel Ruby (red), Carnal Brown (light brown/beige), Somky Jade (teal colour), Concrete Jungle (purple/grey))They come in the same matte dark blue colour packaging and they look good. They do require more layers than the older Maybelline range and whereas the Nocturnal Rose covered the lips well after a few layers, the Concrete Jungle required more work and still I could see my lips through the layers which is not ideal. The Concrete Jungle colour is fab though. The product does not feel dry or powdery on the lips, but it is more work to apply than more creamy lipsticks. The upside to this lipstick is that it is also very matte. It is not transfer proof, so you do have to re-apply after drinks/food.I like the product once it's on, but I think the colours that are closer to the lips' natural colour are more successful for this range as the others might show some lip through even after application of several layers.

I am living for bonkers lip colours - it turns out I really rock them! So I figured I'd try another brand, in a new colour - a dark jade shade. Well, first thing's first, it's certainly jade, but it kind of goes into a dusky grey blue shade if you stare at it hard enough. Anyway, I didn't have the best time putting it on my lips - it really took a lot of effort, so it's not as well pigmented as say, the other brand I've tried. But once it's on there, it certainly does the trick. And it smells of Playdoh. It looks okay on - it's different again, and I like different - the matte shade means it's not very sticky at all, and it does last, certainly past lunch! (I made tagine, and it stayed on)It was easy to take off too, although you need a good micellar water to take it off with as it will leave a green stain around your chops if you just use spit and a tissue. (I'm not even sorry for admitting that in public, we've all done it) I think it's alright - not OMG perfect, mainly because of the effort it took to put on, but the colour is ace!

Sorry about the pictures, id have made a better job of the lipstick application but i havent got a grey lipliner so it looks a bit untidy and certainly not like the promo pic! This is a creamy matte-ish lipstick. I cant say its a true matte but its more of a soft sheen/matte. It feels exactly like all lipsticks on except a bit heavier. I can definitely feel it on, its not lightweight. The colour is a mid grey with bluey undertones but it is grey rather than purple or blue.As a goth, grey lipstick is fine and i certainly think its suits me, its not the most hard wearing of lipsticks and will certainly need reaplication during the course of the day/evening.This is a good quality lipstick that isa strong modern look that would suit most people and colourings.

This isn't a colour that I would normally have bought before I'd tested the colour, as I wouldn't have expected it so suit my Asian colouring. But, seeing it on the actual ad page, where it looks like a shimmery darkish brown, would have made me buy it, and I'd have been happy with what I got.The lipstick seems to be moisturising, as it went on smoothly and without dragging as can be the case with some mattes. I needed just one swipe on each lip and a press of my lips together to end up with even colour. I've just had a hot drink in a bone china mug, without any colour on the mug, and with just the tiniest bit of colour missing from the middle of my lip. So, this is one for the office, where I don't have the time or the chance to reapply.

If you want a striking shade of matt lipstick, this range is a good place to start. The feedback given to me is that it has good coverage, goes on smoothly and lasts reasonably well. Although a matt finish, the waxy nature of it doesn't dry the lips, unlike some of the matt lip paint products on the market. The photo I've attached shows two colours, Smoky Jade and Chilling Grey. The Jade is as you'd expect, but you'll notice that the grey looks more of a cold purple hue. It's different from the listing image anyway, so bear that in mind if you're hoping to receive a true grey colour, because it isn't. Whatever the case, the colours are certainly bold, and the effect potentially quite striking,if you're able to carry it off.

It appears that we are going for every shade of lipstick available and Smoky Taupe is a new one on us. Maybelline have essentially made a matte berry pink shade, but that does not sound as attractive. The application is the traditional twist and apply, the makeup itself is a little on the tough side, maybe due to its matte finish. One coat is enough, but you may want to apply two or three to be able to see the full effect. As the berry pink is slightly muted with one light coat it actually acts as an almost everyday shade as it does not stand out too much instead blending in well with natural colouring. If you do add more layers the berry elements come out and that is stronger to look at and more for an occasion.

I have now tried two colours in this extreme matte colour range from Maybelline and I must say I am impressed with both.Chilling Grey colour is more like a soft smokey violet purple and not really grey at all.Smokey Jade colour is definitely a dark midnight green.I must say both colours brillantly unusal and really create a look. When applied, I found both lipsticks had a nice creamy texture and were easy to apply with one application giving full lucious coverage. Although the lipsticks are matte which is so on trend, my lips did not feel dry or stiff. Both lipsticks have staying power, they don't flake or cake and can stay on for a few good hours too.Fierce Lipsticks from Maybelline thatRock

I was surprised by the tube for this lipstick, it was very cheap looking and not really branded. The base is black and the tube cover is a dark grey, semi transparent matte plastic. This lipstick is a matte nocturnal rose colour which translated to a deep dark pinkish colour. It went on very easily and smoothly without feeling tacky at all. It came off easily when touched by skin but survived eating very well with no transfer on cutlery or the bowl. This is a lovely colour however I feel it's quite stark being matte, I wish it wasn't matte and had a bit of a sheen/sparkle to lift it a little. I love the colour but will probably end up using something on top of it to give it that speciallook.

I have a few of the amazing colours available from this Maybelline range and I think I'm hooked ... the colours are great - unusual and inventive and great for giving your look a little edge. The lipsticks themselves are lush - the honey and nectar aspect makes them so creamy and delicious that it's a joy to have them on your lips. One stroke is enough for application - these colours go a long way with just a little product. The matte look is very in right now and these are great. In terms of the glass and kiss tests - these lipsticks pass with flying colours as there isn't much transfer at all. This means that the colour stays put for hours - big bonus!

Another stunner of a lippie from my fave makeup brand, Maybelline. Maybe I’m born with it, or maybe I get a lot of assistance from this company! ?‍♀️.I love, love, love this colour! It’s a very deep red so go easy with applications and I would recommend a brush for a more precise look, particularly as it’s so deep red that if you get a little by the side of your mouth, it slightly stains! However, that can be a positive as this does have genuine staying power and I tested it out during an evening out for dinner with eating and drinking: left no marks on my glass and was still mostly on when I got home. I love it! ?

This reasonably priced lipstick has a good, bold deep red colour. The lipstick comes in a semi-opaque smokey grey plastic tube. The lipstick has a sweet and somewhat artificial scent a bit like children's confectionery. The lipstick goes on really smoothly and feels quite soft in wear - some matt lipsticks can be quite drying, but I think this one feels pretty nice. I definitely need a lipliner or a lipstick brush for detailed application of this - because it's such a vivid colour, the slightly wonky lines I get around the edges of my lips by applying directly from the tube really stand out.

This product is a very nice grey with a hint of green. More grey looking to me than the other one which is actually called Grey.It applies smooth and feels nice on the lips, it’s got a faint scent to it which is pleasant. It applies creamy and dries to a matte finish. This colour isn’t as long lasting as some of the others. Which I’ve noticed is a general problem for darker / deeper shades. However it is a beautiful colour and applies nicely and for the price I wouldn’t be opposed to slipping it in my bag for a night out and reapplying it throughout.Excellent value and very nice lippy.

I am a huge fan of Maybelline lipsticks and this ‘nocturnal rose’ product is no exception. It is a dark dusky pink colour and has a matt finish. The colour is ideal for daytime and office wear and is fairly neutral in appearance. My preference is for gloss as I like my lips looking shiny and I find the gloss products easier to apply and the oils used in the gloss lipsticks are also great for moisturising the lips. I did find this lipstick slightly drier to apply and the coverage was not necessarily even. Nevertheless, it contoured my lips well and lasted a good number of hours.
