I've previously had a love-hate relationship with powder. I know its importance and value as a setting agent and anti-shine assistant but at the end of the day I struggle due to very dry skin which despite varying techniques and from the cheapest to designer brands most powders exacerbate and make me look caked in product or if they don't cake I look devoid of life due to the flatness. This product is not like other powders I've tried so far and amazingly is one of the best products I've used overall and hands down best powder. Super finely milled and pressed into the compact this is a white shade of translucent meaning it really is translucent on most skins rather than slight peachy-pink whichcan ruin a look totally if the wrong undertone is applied.I love this for setting my make up all over but my under eye concealer especially. Whilst a good choice you don't have to use the baking technique as another reviewer says, as baking isn't the always suitable for day to day makeup (though fab if you're having proper photos done) this product is ideal for simply swirling or patting in over product to set or indeed the Sonia Fyrza buffing technique as it really is an invisible veil in the skin buffed in to airbrushed dreaminess and retaining the glow and coverage of products applied beneath. The reviewer complaining of the sponge being not so good for swiping product across the face is because this isn't a product for swiping, a patting or push and roll technique is best for this kind of product if used with a sponge, tiny pats for a heavier coverage and push into the skin and slightly roll off with the sponge for a more natural or less obvious blend by pushing the product into the skin rather than on it. The sponge is handy for those who like traditional application (I love a brush) but also handy for top ups without a brush if you need them out and about on the t-zone or for a mini makeup kit for travel or emergency in your handbag. This is labelled for normal to oily skins but I have the driest of dry sensitive skins and this was perfection on me, all day setting power and no Cakey residue or pilling of product which is amazing! I'm pleased that a budget/high street brand have given the extra mile in the milling process as this is a degree of fineness in the powder that is beyond most similarly priced competitors.Overall, definitely a keeper, I will replace this when run out which is huge for me as a dry skin sufferer!

Matte and poreless powder is used for the technique of 'baking', with makeup application. I'm not the best at tutorials but there are some great ones on YouTube, but to ensure maximum success with this, first:1. Apply concealer under the eyes. This powder seems most effective when used under the eye area.2. Apply face primer.3. When concealer and face primer are set, apply with a stiff brush this translucent powder liberally, under the eyes and on the chin.4. Allow to sit for 5-10 mins., The heat and environment of your face helps it sink in.5. With a loose brush, brush off the powder. So basically it acts as a brightener - a kind of reverse to a bronzer, somewhat. It does seem to make skin appear smoother, however it's a very particular look that will look different if you don't normally use this - and generally it seems translucent powders take a lot of practice and experience to get right.------------------In my experience of this Maybelline brand, it's okay. It looks great on, but application wasn't as smooth as other's I have used. It's light and thin, goes everywhere, and doesn't stay on for very long - a few hours max - and granted this could well be down to my poor makeup skills, but i've used other brands that have just felt better, and have been easier to use and control. With usage though the end results look fine. It brightens where it needs to, runs consistent, doesn't react with skin, smoothes well, and seems to work on top of a variety of creams and primers without problems.-----------------It definitely requires knowledge and skill to use it right. It has the consistency of talcum powder and puffs out and goes absolutely everywhere when in use; a semi-stiff, medium sized brush would be ideal to minimise this. To successfully have the 'baking' effect, it needs quite a lot on application - this particular Maybelline one goes on thin, so lots of re apps are required. Other brands seem to be able to go on thicker with less dusty haze.

Very keen to try this product but on opening the box I wasn't so sure Caramel would match my dark skin tone? Anyway, I applied it with a brush, went on lovely, didn’t look like it was caking my face with loads of powder and I have to say, it covered my oily T-zone brilliantly, no more shine. The powder matched my skin tone very well as it didn’t look like there was anything on my face and instantly mattified my shiny skin beautifully. I have mild acne scarring too and it made the appearance of these a LOT less visible. My patches of uneven skin tone so much more evened out and I have slightly larger pores on my cheeks near my nose which it covered and made less visible.I don’t usually wear powders as I have sensitive skin and some powders make my skin itch but this most definitely did not. After a whole day of around 10 hours wear, my oily shine was only just starts to reappear and could do with a really quick and light touch up.I am disappointed in myself as I only just noticed that it had a sponge and mirror that came along with it in a compartment underneath the powder. Mirror, very handy and a nice bonus, sponge, is ok. I much preferred using a brush to apply the powder for a light, even coverage and I found that it could be over used with a sponge. I’ve never been a fan of sponges but a nice bonus for when I'm not at home and for it to fit all together in my bag. Last but not least, I had some nice compliments (one being from the lovely husband) who noticed my skin was 'looking good' but couldn’t quite put his finger on what had changed. This is a result as normally he never normally notices any change!I love this product, so much so, I have binned my other powders (as I never really liked them and didn’t agree with my skin and I didn’t really wear it much) and I have been wearing this ALL the time. Will definitely be buying more from the shops. Absolutely fabulous!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The Maybeline Fit Me Matte and Poreless is a pressed powder which is aimed towards people with normal to oily skin. My skin type is normal but towards the end of the day I do end up with an oily T-Zone. When I first tried the powder it was a shade too dark for me so instead of using it as a powder I decided to mix things up and use it as bronzer/contour and I absolutely loved it. It stayed on all day and applied beautifully on top on my foundation however I couldn't really tell whether the powder did reduce the size of my pores as I didn't use it around my nose. Luckily for me I did manage to tan enough so the powder was the perfect shade for me to test out all over my face.I will mention I applied the powder using a large powder brush and not the sponge that it came with and it appliend perfectly fine I didn't notice any patchiness. didn't actually notice a difference with the size of my pores however it did keep me matte until the end of my work day (9am-5pm) to which I was really impressed with. Once I got home however I looked an absolute mess the powder had seemed to gather in places and looked patchy. I tried to clean it up using the sponge it came with to avail I found the sponge too dense and didn't really like it. I really liked the packaging of the powder as it comes it a small black box which has a mirror and sponge compartment making it travel friendly. Overall I would give the Maybeline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Powder a 6/10. As it did keep me matte throughout my work day as promised however it did nothing for my pores. I gave the powder a bonus point as I was also able to use it as a bronzer making it a multi purpose product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is the first time trying Maybeline foundation and it’s not bad. The colour 350 caramel is a great match to my medium/light brown skin tone. Pressed powder is my daily go to rather than liquid as I have oily skin. On first application the coverage is light and smooth, good choice for summer months if you like to go light on makeup. The finish is matte and flawless as expected. My only gripe with the product is that the matte look doesn’t last long enough. If you have oily skin like me you will need to touch up throughout your day. I touch up about 2-3 times before getting home from work.Interesting compact design. The powder section flips up to reveal the mirror underneath along with the sponge applicator. This is a bit annoying as you have to keep flipping back and forth from mirror to powder. It’s not exactly convenient for a quick touch up on the go. Once you’ve used the sponge a few times the powder residue transfers onto the mirror after closing. In addition to that the constant flipping of the mirror will lead to dirty finger marks on the mirror. The sponge is really soft but a basic..like those generic looking sponges you can buy in multi packs. A bit disappointing.Overall the product is alright I wouldn’t use this as a base for a night out but for a light day time coverage you’ll get a lovely natural barely there look. The first thing that stood out to me about the Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Powder was the actual compact itself. It's a really good size with a decent amount of powder yet small enough to fit into a handbag for touch ups on a night out. It comes with a sponge applicator inside a different compartment and also has a mirror built in too. The design is good with the 2 compartments and feels very well made and sturdy. When I tried the powder for the first time I applied it using the sponge supplied, I found that this put too much product on in the one area so I switched to using a brush of mine instead. I found this worked better as I had more control over the amount of product that went on and could build it up if needs be too.The powder itself has a lovely soft silky feel to it when its applied and another massive bonus is that it didn't budge all day even after a gym workout! (My picture is post workout, I thought it was a good way to show how well it stayed on!) The colour caramel was perfect for me too, I have olive skin and I found that it was not too orange and gave me a nice tanned glow. Overall I really like this product and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to my friends. I would've have given this 5 stars if it had a brush instead of a sponge but then that is my personal opinion, others may prefer the sponge. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I love the matifying texture of the Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Powder Caramel, it has a brilliant finish once applied, very lightweight and doesn’t seem to crease. It is also not pigmented I used it as part of my highlighting regimen as this caramel color was on the light side for me. This powder glided on smoothly with the sponge supplied and did well to set my concealers in place. Very complimentary. I always moisturise my face and i think this gave Fit me Matte and Poreless powder a good opportunity to sit well on my face. I also used it for on-the-go touch-ups and it did brilliantly to hide my occasional oily T-zone appearances. I believe it will be a perfect accompaniment in summer. The powder is very easy to apply. The only downside to it that I’ve noticed so far is that it doesn’t seem to last very long but it fits in handy into everyday bags and could be applied on the go. There is a mirror and the sponge has its special storage underneath it. The package makes on the go application easy. I also tried applying with brush but had a better result with the sponge. All in all, it is a very brilliant product, i would wish to get one in my color that i can use as an all over my face for an everyday wear, and i can confidently recommend that this powder should be in every ladies bag. I never wear foundation or tinted moisturiser, only primer, SPF and pressed powder, so this pressed powder compact was just my thing. On first impressions I was disappointed by the packaging - it looks much tackier in real life than in the photograph, and it's quite a chunky compact to fit into a small make-up bag if you're out and about. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is because the applicator sponge is in a separate compartment, which also houses the mirror. This is very annoying, and makes this powder tricky to use on the go, although if you're using it at home, you can simply leave the sponge on top of the compact. I wasn't thrilled with the look of the sponge either - it's pink with a silky top, adding to the overall cheap impression. Nevertheless, the product itself is good. I have very pale skin and thought the Natural Beige shade wouldn't match my skin colour at all, especially as it looked very dark in the packet and on the sponge, but it blends in beautifully - much better than the No 7 powder I usually use, which is much more expensive. I was surprised at how much I had on when I removed it, as you really don't notice it on the skin, but it made my skin very matte and smooth. Due to the quality of the product itself and the competitive price, I would still recommend this powder, although the compact needs a redesign.

The ‘Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Powder’ offers something a little different to add to your makeup weaponry, as a powder it is designed to help your other makeup blend and stave off oils. This powder achieves this, whilst also being translucent, this means it does the job without being seen. On a good note, it is not noticeable once it has dried and will blend over whatever other makeup you happen to be using. A good option is just to use a little of the powder on some of oily areas of your skin. It dries out and can feel a little odd, but does the job of stopping shine. Or you can use it on top of other makeup to give it an added layer of protection. There are some issues with the actual application, the makeup comes in a functional package, but takes a while to dry on enough for you to feel confident about adding anything else. Your own brush is best used as the powder can be a little light and fly away off the provided application sponge. It would be a little better if it dried faster as you could get on with things, as it is you are best touching this up a little and then doing something else for ten minutes or so. If you are someone who suffers from oily skin then the ‘Poreless Powder’ is a good addition, to those who do not suffer from this, it is probably a lengthy application too long.

Oh my goodness, when I recieved my Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless mattifying powder I was not disappointed. I was excited about trying it and it made an old lady (not really very old) very happy. My complexion had been looking very dull recently so a new face powder was like manna from heaven for me as I needed all the help I could get. The look ,feel and coverage of the powder is perfect. I have been chomping at the bit to write this report as I've been so excited because the results have been amazing. I have had a few compliments today saying how well I look and have I been on holiday etc so something must be working.Ladies ,this is the one for you,if you open pores and a dull complexion and need something to make you look fresher then struggle no more. That is what I want to shout from the rooftops.Maybelline ,thank you I have waited a long time for a product like this and the Caramel colour is perfect. I have told all my friends about it whether they wanted to listen or not haha any they said they will look forward to it being available. The simple box with sponge and mirror are just perfect ,no wastage of over the top packaging . The overall look is spot on. My last comment, what's not to like !! I'm not a massive fan of coloured powders, preferring loose, silica powders such as RCMA, innisfree no sebum powder, and Etude house zero sebum powder. These powders are my favourites, and do not dry the skin out, but soak the oil up without changing the colour.I decided to try this powder as I LOVE the fit me foundation. The maybelline powder shade 220 is not the perfect match for the foundation shade, but is a tad lighter.I had to play around with it to find the best application, as if dusted all over my face, I looked cakey, and overly powdered. It does provide some coverage, which I like, but a light hand is best.I found that if I set my face with my loose powders, then dabbed this pressed powder over my t zone (lightly) with my real techniques setting brush, it provided a slightly highlighted look, blurred the pores, and covered any redness in those areas. It left a nice finish, and didn't cake up, sink into pores (even the craters on my nose!), and did not oxidise. This powder is best as a finishing powder, as it didn't control the oil, but left a beautiful finish right at the end of my make up application.I'm glad I persevered!

I'm always looking out for a good powder that covers everything once the concealer's gone on - this product looked like a great idea as it's translucent and apparently matte and good for oily skin - my forehead, for one, gets more oil on top than a frying pan so I was interested in this. The powder is packaged in quite a chunky black box with the powder, if you lift the flap up there's a mirror (always handy) and a sponge. I wasn't too impressed with the mechanism of the powder lid, it was nigh-on impossible to lift it up! The sponge itself is really, really basic and boring - there's not even a silky cover and it's not very comfy to swipe across the skin. Could have done better, considering the price. The powder itself is actually really good - it does look a bit, er, pale, but with some blending it looks seamless on the skin. I tried my forehead out and I have to admit, so far, there is no oil. It actually reminds me a bit of talcum powder, so fingers crossed it sups up all the oil. All in all, dodgy sponge and packaging aside, this isn't too bad.

L'Oréal======They are the largest cosmetics company in the world. They have loads of brands from Garnier, L'Oréal and have huge research facilities in respect of cosmetics. I have been waiting to try this maybelline matte and poreless pressed powder and finally I have my hands in it. I got the powder in caramel shade 350 and applied it after my liquid foundation before my eye makeup. I applied the powder with a brush and it went on really well didn't look powdery at all and covered really nice. I usually find powders to be a bit cakey and build up badly in pores or fine lines but didn't get that with this. This usually shows up badly in photos but the shade matched my mixed skin perfect and didn't make me look pale. Having used it a few times now it's stayed on all day and didn't once look oily even on wearing it for a warm evening out it stayed in well and Ididn't look shiny and pores appeared smaller. This product is really affordable I would've expected it to cost more and I didn't realise until my makeup was complete that it contained a mirror and sponge applicator so even more for your money.A great buy! From the outset I will state and let new users know that I have indian skin. That means wonderful days of blemished and marked skin, and many teenage years of looking like a ghost as make up brands did not have my foundation or powder skin tone match! It's been many years of trying and testing and finally, finally there is a high street product which works first time round without having to blend with other products! This product is fantastic! I wear it on top of my foundation and it gives me a flawless look! I look like the amazing instagram and snapchat filters without using those filters. The product does not cake, blends well, looks like a premium expensive brand and lasts ages!I cannot recommend the product enough! I've been looking for excuses to wear it as I've loved it that much! I love the fact that it also comes with a sponge and mirror and the size is perfect for my bag! Just look at my pictures which show how good I look!
