FOUNDATION FOUNDATION FOUNDATION================================A good foundation is essential for flawless-looking skin, but it's almost impossible to get right. There are the shades to consider, powders, creams.Too much and you look like a CLOWN. Too little and you look a little unfinished.FLAWLESS SKIN=============When you see someone with flawless, natural skin they have generally chosen their foundation well.TIP- match it to your chest. If you test the shade in a shop test it on the back of your hand and then walk outside to see it in normal lighting. It's often worth asking at a department store for a makeover. (loads of them do them outside of Christmas) and they'll get the pigment right.Don't be afraid of mixing shades.APPLICATION TIPS===============Never apply foundation to un-moisturised skin.Application: Fingers? A sponge? A brush? Each have their benefits:FINGERS to apply liquid and cream foundations, because the heat generated helps to warm up the foundation, making it easy to blend.SPONGE if you want a sheer look this is best, but you'll use more foundation as the sponge absorbs too. Lightly press it onto the skin in a blotting motion. (Sweeping equals streaking.)BRUSH is an even application. For liquid foundation: a tapered synthetic brush with a tip about 3 CMs. For powder foundations, use a thick, fluffy brush preferably with natural bristles.OK, WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE?=======================It's not one of the top ones, it's not too heavy and it's quite lightweight, but I found it dried a little too quickly.SHADE======As I've said above the shades are difficult to choose on-line. I can say that the darker shades are dark and the lighter light. The best advice is to see them in real life or choose a few to experiment with. I've used 3 or 4 of these foundations on various people with different skin tones. This is a very light one, but as I've mentioned you may want this to mix with a darker colour.DISCLOSURE==========I used to do make up a while ago and have some qualifications but I'm not an "expert" just someone who likes makeup and likes to share their tips.

I have previously used the original fit me, which gave medium-full coverage and the shade was perfect-allowed for my neutral undertones. However it is extremely shiny, and while my face is not too oily, this looks totally wet and requires a lot more powder. The matte and poreless comes in the same shade. Like the original it is quite runny. However it sets really well, and still gives a medium-full (buildable coverage). I can layer this one much better as it dries well. II have not really tried other matte foundations to compare to, but it does look quite natural in finish and would probably suit more oily skin than mine too (I have oily combination skin, witch hazel helps control my oil).I can't see a particular different in pore visibility-I do have some large pores but I moisturise well and use a pore smoothing primer when I wear makeup, however it definitely does not make them more visible like many other foundations do.The price point is pretty good for this foundation.I only have one niggle with this foundation, that in the UK, it comes in this plastic tube rather than the glass pump bottle that the original foundation comes in. It does mean that all of the foundation can be used (can cut the tube), but it is also easier to squeeze out too much, especially as it is quite runny. Also I just have a personal preference for pump bottles.

I was worried that the product would be fake but the Amazon seller is the actual Maybelline store. I also looked up this foundation on the official website of maybelline and it looks identical. Remember this foundation is the "WITH CLAY" version, and people who say it's fake are comparing it to the normal matte poreless foundation, not the one WITH CLAY. it works perfectly, and it lasted all day for me, my face is whiter than the rest of my body and normally use a foundation that completely matches my face tone, however I chose the warm nude and it matches my neck, it's still lighter than my body, but it has a warmer tone, so it matches a bit better and I'm glad I did.It had better coverage than most foundations I've used and I tend to use a tiny bit of foundation cause I don't like too heavy make up looks, it still looked natural. Was less oily throughout the day and that's a plus since I wear a lot of sun cream and I sweat throughout the day. Loved it

Im in my late 40's with combination skin. I struggle with foundation because i have quite uneven skin tone and i find most foundations either do nothing to even out my complexion or look like some kind of odd mask! I know at my age im supposed to have dry or very dry skin and most things aimed at my age group are anti wrinkle or extra moisturising. I really dont need these, i need the one that wont sit in my pores and will stay on my face rather than slide down. The shade i have is warm ivory (100) and its a good match for my non celtic pale skin that never tans. I wasnt sure when i first applied it as it seemed a bit thin but its not. It dries quickly and isnt very visible/mask like,it kind of blends in. It doesnt sit in the pores on my nose and make them more visible either. It feels more lightweight than my usual foundation and my skin hasnt had any reaction to it either. It gives a nice smooth matte finish. im quietly impressed

i have tried many foundations from your regular supermarket £3 brands right up to your expensive high street brands such as dior and i have found Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation to be the best by far i have extremely pale skin so trying to find a perfect colour match for foundation has been a hard task i use the 102 Fair Ivory shade and it is prefect i suffer very oily and dry skin and this foundation is an absolute godsend locks in moisture and reduces the look of dry skin so that i can wear my makeup all day without the worry of my skin looking shiny it has such excellent coverage that i dont even need to use concealer with this just a small dab of primer and then i use myfoundation 3 small dots literally covers my full face at such an excellent price as well i would highly recommend this product i have also attached a picture in my review so that everyone can see how flawless this foundation looks

After using various foundations over the years, this by far is the best one I have ever found. I have been using this for the past 12-18 months and can honestly say it's the first foundation that goes light enough for my skin tone. It does not oxidise and go orange as the day goes on. As an on call fire fighter I wear this in my everyday life and when the call comes through and I wear my kit for a long time sweating and my helmet rubbing against my forehead, the foundation is very good at staying in place. I also wear it when going to the gym and though it may on the odd occasion need a little powder touch up, it stays pretty much in place. I apply it with a kabuki brush and use a little bit of concealer over the foundation to cover acne spots, scars and dark undereyes. As I have oily skin I use a translucent powder to keep it from getting oily throughout the day.

I thought this was great for the price and perfect for a night out. I didn't feel I could get away with it for my work as I don't do a full made up look for work, I prefer something like tinted moisturiser as I'm frequently hot and find a foundation can run a little. But back to this. The shade was right for me for a night out as I have pale skin so it gave a little colour without looking silly around my jaw line - it blended well. I don't do contouring, I want simple foundation followed by eye shade, bit blush, mascara and eyeliner and that's it (plus bit lippy) and this gave me good coverage under the premise. My face looked different to how it normally does with foundation and it looked good.It was completely matte and there were no blemishes showing underneath. Great! I got a good night out from the application without looking runny by the end of the night.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation is a beautiful creamy foundation made by L'Oreal. I found it perfect for my skin as I would have normal skin on my cheeks yet an oily T-Zone, With the varied colours, it will suit a lot of different skin tones. What makes this foundation perfect for me is how it has an added powder which really helps disguise my dreaded pores, my nasal area especially over the bridge of the nose is where my pores would be more noticeable. After using this silky smooth foundation my skin was as smooth as the actual product and my pores were simply camouflaged which made this Maybelline Fit me Matte Poreless Foundation perfect for my needs.I love the matte look from it as I always used to have to apply a layer of finishing powder, but because of this product having a matte finish, no other addition is needed for my skin.

After having heard lots of great things about this foundation, I had to try it as a serial make up buyer I’m forever looking for my staple products. I’m a massive fan of the maybelline superstay foundation and gave this a go as I hold high hopes for any maybelline products. This foundation is very lightweight, the product is quite liquidy and spreads thin once applied. The beauty of this is you can have a medium coverage or build it up for a filler coverage as desired. I prefer an instant full coverage that lasts and in terms of staying power the fit me foundation doesn’t last like the superstay. All round a good buy but would always opt for the maybelline superstay foundation for the reasons above.I’m sure many who prefer less cake face would prefer this fit me. Each to their own but no denying maybelline as a great trustworthy brand!

Okay, I confess, I've been loyal to Dream Matte Mousse since I was a teenager. I love it, and I always found liquid foundations to be too gloopy or cakey on my skin. Not this one. Porcelain is only slightly too light for me, but any other colour would be way too dark, so I'm sticking with it. I apply first with my fingers, then with the Real Techniques miracle sponge. Where Dream Matte Mousse would go patchy around my eyebrows and upper lip by the end of a hot day, this stays on. It wears away a bit throughout the day, but it stays for long enough during a work day. I always prep with Rimmel Fix & Perfect primer, and finish with Rimmel Stay Matte powder and L'Oreal Infallible setting spray.I have oily skin, especially on my t-zone, and this routine - and foundation - work hard at keeping it at bay. Great stuff, give it a try.

This latest offering from Maybelline is designed to appeal to a younger demographic - or just those of us with oily.combination skin!It comes in a tube and has the consistency of a fairly thick cream. It applies and absorbs pretty well and leaves a pretty good finish. I have pores that feel like craters, but actually this did cover rather than emphasise them. After a full day at work, I still did feel a bit oily around the t-zone. I always remove make up as soon as I get home, so can't update you on a wear of more than about 9 hours. The shade is always going to be completely personal. I have fairly fair skin and it's not seen much sun over the winter. This wasn't a bad shade for me,just a touch too orange I thought. It's so reasonably priced that I'd suggest it's certainly worth giving a try.

This is marketed as being suitable for combination skins. I don't have a particularly oily skin - mine is mature and normal, but I took a chance on this as it was a shade I really liked.A little bit warmer than ivory and nude shades this is just enough to give a glow without it looking unnatural in the depths of winter.I was pleasantly surprised by both the colour and the coverage. It's a nicely matt finish that doesn't look cheap, chalky or dusty in any way. The blendability was good and it provided an excellent base for my Rimmel light honey powder - no flaking and a long lasting effect. I haven't experienced any breakouts or irritation from this - nor did I expect to.If you have teens in thefamily this may be a foundation that you find yourself borrowing from them (makes a change!)

I was really pleasantly surprised by this foundation - it's so cheap and performs so well. It sets shortly after applying (so you need to work quickly!) to give a matte, powdery finish. I've found it goes on best with fingers; a beauty blender works OK but seems to dilute the finish and lessen the coverage. It's so quick to apply - one layer and it's done - and the coverage is at least medium, if not high. Shade 100 is perfect for MAC NC15 skin and doesn't oxidise. It can cling to dry patches so some good moisturising is required beforehand. It lasts very well - I have oily skin and I can see it starting to break down by mid-afternoon, which for this price point is excellent.I reckon it's a pretty good dupe for CHANEL's Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation, at a fifth of the price.

This is the foundation I'll be sticking to now, I'm usually the palest shade in foundation and its a GREAT match. I have red undertones and the foundation matches and covers perfectly and its really easy to apply. I use my fingers to apply and occasionally use a damp blender - the finish is better with a blender but when you're rushed in the morning its really easy to apply and forget about it - it looks totally natural - enough to cover any problem areas without looking too false or cakey, I do not need to top it up throughout the day either. If I had a wish it would be for it to be a slightly fuller coverage but its easy to add more if needed - it just looks like your skin is at its absolute best!I really hope they don't stop making it.
