Was looking for a lighter jacket that I could use in less harsh conditions - for that I have a ME Lhotse jacket, but that's OTT for dog walking and summer coastal path showers etc. Narrowed search down to a small number from Marmot, Patagonia, Berghaus and Mountain Equipment; all made with GTX paclite fabric. Ultimately it came down to price and availability, plus the Marmot consistently does well in reviews, both consumer and expert.So, I've had the jacket for a few days, spent about 4-5 hours outdoors in typical West wales weather of high winds and pouring rain, including the brunt of storm Christoph. First observation is that the material doesn't leak, so there are no faults with the seams of the membrane.

I may add more to this review after wearing it in the rain a bit, but my first impression is the Jacket is very well made, properly sealed seams, nice sleeve cuff-tabs, a spacious hood that will cover a helmet or draw in if not, nice soft feel to it, and packs down small - probably into around 1L if I'm careful.I got it for traveling, not hiking (I have a heavier hiking jacket), so I wanted something lightweight, it's spot-on.For me, the fit is great but little point in commenting on that here since it's a personal thing.Overall it seems like good value for Goretex, but I'd say it's for light general use - I expect it wouldn't last carrying a pack on a multi-day hiking trip, a light day pack probably ok.

The jacket is short in the torso and could have been an inch or two longer but this is a minimilist jacket and you get enough to protect your self from bad weather it as two hand warmer pockets that I think are big enough for my hands or storing gloves and a beanie the chest pocket is large enough for my mobile phone and electronic car key to fit securely and remain dry in the rain.The hood works very well in bad weather and when cinched up it will move with your head but having the pit zips is a feature I like very much enabling me to ventilate hot air from inside the jacket and cooling me down quicker whilst remaining dry,

AN excellent jacket at a good price! True, only the black option is available at this discount but I was ok with that. The hood has great adjustment allowing for fit and visibility with or without a hat; overall fit allows good movement and it's waterproofness is exemplary. Sleeves are perhaps a touch long but that's probably because I needed a slightly larger body size now I'm no longer a youngster! Never used the pit zips (and probably won't!) so can pass no comment.

This is a very nice piece of kit. Water just runs off it and it is pretty windproof as well. Very lightweight. Good pocket sizes and adjustable in many respects, although the hood takes a bit of doing. In really adverse conditions, I'd recommend wearing another layer underneath as it has no insulation lining, but as an outer waterproof layer, it is brilliant. However, it is very expensive. Despite this, I'd recommend it highly.

Already had a heavy Gore Tex coat with fleece lining for winter use. Wanted a light weight coat to be worn over T shirt for the wet summer days walking my dogs. This coat is perfect in that role, fits exactly as expected and has faced some heavy downpours already and is 100% waterproof. My advise to anyone wanting to wear a fleece or similar under the jacket is to choose a size larger than you would normally go for.

I Like the price,the minimalist look,being Gore Text,breathable,wind prof, light wait,well made,nice rain hood & its adjustable.Don,t like that it's a bit to long in the arms,no pockets inside,unable to hide hood would of been nice if you were able to tuck it away,no carrying bag to put it into.So after all this I Still like it am 5 foot 8 inch or 1.72cm I got it in size L good fit.

this is a stunning jacket100% waterproof + breathable, I put tissue paper in the waterproof chest pocket, put the jacket on + stood in the shower for 5 mins direting the water straight at the pocket ! ( + all over me ) took the jacket off I was bone dry as was the tissue paper . Also just back from a nice walk + no sweat ! great breathability

Great quality jacket and nice fit. Handy touches like the hood having a small cap brim (stops some rain getting to my face/glasses) and underarm vents, velcro wrist adjusters, etc.Have had this really functional jacket before and was gutted when someone pinched it out my car - so much so that I bought it again straight away!

Beautiful jacket and great fit. Purchased a bit larger than usual to allow for use of sweater or sweatshirt for more warmth when attending Packer games, grandkids soccer games, and when fishing. Like the convenience of the attached hood and find the zipper to be very sturdy. Great jacket which will serve me well for years.

Had many so called “waterproof” jackets over the years and so far (only been using it for a few weeks) is has been much better than my expectations. It is a good fit, lightweight and very comfortable. Above all it is waterproof. Been out in a few downpours with no leaks, however only time will tell if this lasts.

Great waterproof, great wind break, big fan of the Marmot stuff. It all seems so well thought out and it performs. Hiking, climbing walking the dog.Fits over my down jacket perfectly when the weather gets grim, which is most of the year in Scotland

- For the weight, it is one of the best in class waterproof jacket.- For warmth, additional layer under it would be sufficient.- Sizing is accurate.- Marmoot usually prices its products higher than their worth, that is why I got 4 stars.

Very lightweight, breathable and waterproof jacket. The zips under the arms provide great airflow, which helps on long hikes in the wet. The quality of the jacket is fantastic. Would highly recommend

I'm about 42-44 for jacket size. The coat fits slim with a tee shirt and flannel layer underneath. I've got to send it back for XL because I may want to wear a fleece or puffer jacket underneath.
