This is a great quality saw as you would expect from Makita. It’s well made with very high quality cast aluminum base plate and controls. Equipped with 3AH battery and the saw blade provided it easily cuts an inch thick dry oak and walnut boards.However I had two issues with the saw:First - it came well wrapped in plastic and not in a cardboard box despite of my communication with FFX who assured me it’s boxes item. It was not, most likely it was part of a bigger set which was sold out piece by piece.Second - I should have been more careful before purchase and should have noticed the saw is intended for left hand users. This is a quality item, as always, from Makita. Light weight and easy to use. I should have bought one years ago, instead of spending hours ripping 8ft plywood etc. by hand or struggling with a heavy and awkward circular saw with power lead! As there is no battery or charger, it didn't cost much more than a cheap, inferior product. I have since added a Makita 24 tooth blade which makes for really neat cuts.

Really pleased with the saw, easy to use. Great features including rail guide and depth measures on the guard so no measuring of blade needed, safety action on the trigger really impressed the model up has a light, brake and dust blower so if these are things you would need maybe the model ending 10 is the one for you ??

Weighs next to nothing yet flies through jobs and is very quiet. So much easier to use than a corded saw. Compatible with all LXT tools so don't need lots of batteries. I only need one battery as it only takes 22 mins to fully charge battery. Only drawback is that it only takes 165mm blades.

I bought this saw as occasionally I thought it might be useful and a lot quicker not having to get the extension leads out all the time, but this little saw is a lot more powerful than its size suggests and have been using it on much bigger jobs and it just keeps going. Great little saw.

This unit is better than my first one you can even put a dust bag on the back if you so desire but I advice on buying trend saw blades or two for these they are superior to Makita blades so you have a spare too for when you take one in for sharpening.

Have been using on a daily basis and it is worth every penny. Have cut kitchen worktops and all types of timber sheets!!!.. with ease. Wish I'd bought one years ago.

great little saw,easy to use nice & light weight ,my tip always use a 5 amp battery or bigger,to get the best performance out of it ,would recommend definitely.

Brilliant saw v powerful even with 3.0ah batteries goes through 18mm mdf easily with no hassle lasts for hours with even small power battery

Makita specifications for tools are gold standard. I does not matter where they are made if they meet the spec then they are the best.

superb wee tool invaluable used it for a year now nearly every day on site if it broke tomorrow i would buy another straight away

Nice lightweight product. Easy to use. Compliments my corded larger one. Works well and a bonus with the extra blade and case.

Only disappointment was packaging..no box, just packaged in plastic seamed bag, otherwise does what it says on the tin.

Makita's interchangeable battery 18v cordless tools are the future. Well designed, they do what they claim to do!
