For a little while my hair thinning has become an issue. After washing my hair over the last couple of years, I have noticed more and more hair in the bath tub so its been on the horizon for a while. I do my best to not have it cut too short at the barbers so it gives the impression that I have more hair than what it seems.Men losing their hair has become a bigger problem over the last couple of years as the pressure of social media and personal appearance is increasing to look your best. It wasn't till a friend of mine went to a body building convention and he bumped into a celebrity (shall remain nameless) who recommended he buy L'Oréal Magic Retouch Instant Root Touch Up,75 ml who then went on to mention it to myself. I was hesitant at first thinking it was just another fad in hair loss treatment but as it was on offer for £8.99 on Amazon I thought it was a small price to pay. When it arrived I was at work and thought I would wait till I got home until my friend said lets take a before and after photo. Now oddly enough I had never taken a photo of the top of my head before to have a closer look at how bad my hair was thinning. So my friend took the picture and showed me which left me quite shocked. Straight away I was like "spray it on me now", so on it goes in the areas which need it most and the picture after was astonishing.Never had I seen a dramatic change after going to the mirror to see the effects, the confidence boost was massive. From feeling low about the previous photo to then walking around with a new found lease of life was definitely the best £8.99 I had ever spent. This was a year ago now and I buy one or two bottles a month. My tips would be to style your hair first before anything else because if you spray the areas then style it you hands will turn black or whatever colour you use. I also recommend having a towel draped over your shoulders so the spray will then not get onto your clothes and most importantly get a black pillow case.If you are unsure at all about using this to cover up the areas which make us paranoid do not think twice, it will make you feel a different person. I hope it helps.

I have been struggling with what to do with my hair in between colouring as I get a grey patch just at the front. It really makes me feel like I am getting older which I don’t like at all! Before and after photos show you it’s not much but it is obvious to me.This seemed like quite a good idea so I thought I’d give it a go but I wasn’t particularly hopeful that it would work as I have tried the hair make up powder version before. Admittedly not from this brand and of course L’Oreal is a well known and reputable brand so I shouldn’t have compared them!I was actually really impressed. I chose blonde because I didn’t want to go really dark and obvious (my hair is brown). When I actually compared my hair to the hair picture on the top of the bottle, it wasn’t very different though. All you need to do with this, is shake and spray. A little goes a long way and, although it has a nozzle to point it more accurately, I did find that when spraying the front of my hair, it did tend to splatter on my forehead. This was easily wiped away with a tissue but if you don’t it looks like you have age spots. Not a look I want to rock!It feels like you have something in your hair, maybe a sort of hairspray. I’m not sure you’d want to spray this all over.I tried rubbing it off my hair with my fingers and it seems pretty good at staying put. Nothing came off on my fingers at all. It says it comes out with the next shampoo, which I’m sure it will looking at the ingredients. I don’t use any silicons in my hair (it’s wavy) and this does have one listed but it’s at the end of the ingredients list so I thought it was a sacrifice worth making! I’ll have to use a bit of sulphate to remove it (most shampoos have this in so unless you follow the curly girl method, it’ll be fine to wash out)For me it’s perfect as it covers my grey and just means I can go that extra couple of weeks until I get the colour done. Well worth the money!

It has got to the point that my roots start showing between three and four weeks after my colour is done, but that is much too early to have a cut. Since visiting the hairdresser is really not my idea of fun I don't want to make visits every three weeks to have something done, never mind the cost of doing this. The root re-touch is therefore a bit of a godsend for me. My hair is dyed a reddish brown colour and I have previously tried an expensive red coloured product recommended by my hairdresser. It didn't really work for me because the red was a more vibrant auburn shade than my hair and the browns in the range didn't suit me either. The medium brown variant of this L'Oreal Touch-Up is slightly darker than I would like - I can tell the difference albeit anyone who doesn't know to look would be hard pushed to see the join. I am not sure if it helps, but my hair is dyed using L'Oreal salon products so perhaps the Re-Touch fits their family of colours. You only need a light spray from the narrow nozzle over the hairline and parting to do the job - it took me a couple of goes to get the technique right. The awkward bit that is easy to forget is the back of the head where I can't see the effect - I do a quick light spray and then check with another mirror. It dries quite quickly so after a couple of minutes I can run my fingers through my hair without getting colour on them, and I haven't had colour come off on sheets & pillowcases. Similarly, it (thankfully) survives a shower of rain without running yet disappears when I wash my hair.If you can find the right colour this product is great for giving an extra week or two before having roots re-done at the hairdresser, saving both time and money.

Having spent a fortune on root-retouch products over the past decade or so, I am delighted to have ended my quest with this one. I never really worried about dark roots when I was younger and would happily leave them there until I wanted to be fully honey gold again which meant I could get away with highlights every three months. However, now my natural colour is grey, with hints of white, I've gone for a full head colour which means those roots show up much quicker and as I don't have the time to visit the hairdressers every three or four weeks this is a great solution. This product is the one to choose if you have all-over roots, rather than just the occasional straggler as the nozzle allows you to cover quite a large area in one squirt. My hair is long and my roots show up most conspicuously at the sides when I wear it tied back and I find that if I angle my head so that my hair hangs down loosely at the side I can spray accurately onto the roots holding the canister kind of in the hair that is hanging down which means you're not too close to the head and get the best coverage. It's a good idea to slather some moisturiser close to the hairline to ensure you can wipe away any spots that hit your skin, but that doesn't happen once you get good with it. I rarely use it all over my head as it isn't necessary if you're hair is tied back, so I just aim at the visible parts. That means I get an extra couple of weeks between salon visits which equals a decent saving of time and money over the year.

I dye my hair slightly darker than my natural colour so often have lighter roots showing up which can get expensive repurchasing hair dye so decided to give this a try. It is definitely a product you want to play with before spraying onto your hair to get used to the distance and how fast it sprays out. It has a very small nozzle on it but is a very fine spray and can be quite precise but holding it too close can turn the spray very into a very dark brown. It’s basically a spray paint so that means it will noticeably spray your scalp if spraying too close so ideally you need to hold it at a slight distance and move it as you spray.I do find it has a lot of staying power and you’ll easily see that if just testing it on your arm but although it dries there is some rub off from it. You will also want to be careful in the rain as water can cause any excess to run but to get it all off you really need to give your hair a good scrub with shampoo. I find this spray works best if I’ve set my hair into a specific style so I’m not playing with it or perhaps changing the parting or I’d have to spray my whole head to ensure all my roots are covered. It does take practice but I find it so quick to use so it’s handy when I’m between hair dying when the roots are starting to show. I wouldn’t say it was perfect though and there are occasions where I wouldn’t risk using it e.g. if it’s raining or if I know I’ll end up playing with my hair as it will end up on my hands.

Awesome life/hair saving product! I was actually reluctant to try thinking this was just another gimmick. This is really fantastic and helps to stretch out the length of regular permanent hair dye. The colour itself is VERY Good despite my hair dye colour Medium Golden Brown (naturally dark brown black). The 'brown' and 'dark brown' are what works best so far (have tried both). They last up until the next washing. If you go too long it WILL start to get itchy a bit. But the colour is awesome. One thing I DO suggest - this DOES 'spatter' just a bit. If you're anything like me and have the tendency to lean OVER the sink to look/do this in the mirror DON'T - it will leave your sink VERY Spotty with hair dye spatterings (which are really a pain to get off the porcelain of your sink!)I suggest you step back, shake the canister and direct it to your hair, spray without fear! If you are 'greying' a bit at the temples, I might suggest you gently insert a piece of kitchen/paper towel, folded, underneath the hair (Temples and fringe) So it doesn't stain your skin.Otherwise really great product - no weird smells (nothing you wouldn't expect from let's say a hair salon, but not nearly as strong, very subtle 'aroma' - goes on very easily, very easy to use. FANTASTIC instant coverage! (Wait about a minute before any styling) and then go for it! This is my third bottle! :) Awesome stuff!

Update*************************This makes your scalp look brown and dirty. YUK.Be careful how you apply this and try not to get on your scalp. You'll look like you've not washed for a year!*********************************************************************************************************************************I've been doing this for a few years now but I've been using dry shampoo for brunettes. I'm glad to see that there is now a specialist product for hiding roots in between colour touch ups. This certainly is a better product than using a dry shampoo. It has a precision nozzle for directing the colour into the right place, and once applied it is easy to smooth it into your hair with your fingers,to get best coverage of grey areas. It's very easy indeed, literally point and spray.Coverage is very good and it lasts to even after brushing. However, like the dry shampoo I had previously used this does make your hair dull in areas where it is sprayed. It's a shame that they weren't able to formulate something that kept your shine. It must be possible, surely? I've deducted 1 point for this. This is a great addition to your grooming kit and really can give you extra time between colour and root touch ups.Great product and I definitely would buy when this runs out.

I am transitioning to grey. In the early stages of transition I found powders and particularly wax sticks most useful for covering small areas of grey up to about 1cm, however the longer my grey got the less useful they were and I moved onto Magic Retouch. I’m a bit of a sceptic about rave products, but have to say these little spray cans have been a game changer. I now have 2-3inches of grey and find this spray conceals really effectively without looking unnatural in anyway. Yes, it is a bit unweildy to use in terms of directing the jet, and you do need to protect your face, but the transformation after using is remarkable. I’m a third of the way through my grey transition and no one has noticed! What’s more, it stays in your hair until you shampoo it out. I found I can run plain water through and it stays in, but it comes out easily with shampoo- this makes it fine for rainy days. Frankly, I don’t know what I would have done without this product, probably abandoned my grey transition completely. I feel I will be able to keep using this product until my grey is long enough that I can cut the box dye out.

Firstly, I'd like to thank the seller for his/her/their top customer helpful and supportive service throughout.I've been an Amazon customer for a good number of years and appreciate sellers that care for their customers and their products. As I have various highlights through my hair (done professionally), I use the golden blonde and dark blonde for my root sections when required.Though reasonably pleased with the colour and no reaction to the product, before using, do a patch test for both colour match (to suit your hair) and to ensure no adverse reactions. If you do a section strand test (use a part section of your underneath hair (that is hidden) and apply light even strokes, let dry and check.I use a rubber highlight cap for best results as this way, the root area for my highlighted blonde hair looks natural and works well with the highlight colours of various blondes in my hair. Using a cap helps with the amount of root hair/strands I want to colour (on a temporary basis) in between visits to the hairdresser and of course the coronavid19 situation.

I have changed my hair colour from dark copper as my regrowth is now too grey and high maintenance. I lightened my overall colour to dark blonde and am getting highlights with a view to growing the colour out completely leaving me with highlighted and low lighted grey hair. The grey roots are less noticeable with my dark blonde colour while growing the colour out , but still get in my nerves. I bought the dark blonde colour of ‘magic retouch ‘ but didn’t really think it would work. I was wrong. It almost perfectly matches the colour I am growing out , I currently have around an inch and a half of grey root regrowth, and it is now happily disguised!Even if I only use it when going out socially it makes me feel so much better knowing my grey is no longer beaming out from my parting like a neon light when I use this. It is easier to spray on than I thought, and lasts even if I need to comb my hair to rearrange. It might seem expensive to try , but if it does work for you it’s worth the outlay.

The instructions are clear and the product is quite easy to use, but I would still have a practice to get the hang of it. Spray lightly at first and build up rather than going in heavy handed. I used it on 'lockdown roots' of around three months re-growth and I would say that it is not ideal for this amount of coverage. This is because it took the shine off my hair and looked dull, not a problem if your only trying to cover a small amount of root growth. The product felt like I'd put hairspray on and took the shine off in a similar way.The instructions said that it doesn't come off until you wash it out, unfortunately when I used it a small amount stained my fingers if I touched it.They also stated that it washed straight out, but mine took several washes to take it out and even then there was still a tinge of colour left. All that said this product covers grey well and is perfect for a temporary fix on a small amount of root regrowth.

Perfect solution to lockdown and dealing with roots and grey showing through. This is a spray on colour, very easy to use. I would suggest you get someone else to do it for you as they can spray more accurately and therefore economically. A bit of residual colour after one wash, but not very much and the product does not claim to be a permanent colour. I wanted a wash out colour so hopefully my hairdresser can slap on my regular more permanent colour as soon as the salon doors open. Suggest you use an old towel to cover clothes and skin, although it did wipe off my skin quite easily with water. I only spray my main parting, so quite minimal use and I don't think I will get the suggested 25 sprays from the can.If you spray your hair more liberally, I don't think the small can would last very long at all. But delighted with this product and speedy delivery - I can now go out in public again!!

Having not been able to have my hair coloured since march I thought I'd give this a go. There are a few mixed reviews on here about this particular product. What I have found is if you are buying this to cover up all of your root growth or grey hairs then you will be disappointed! If however you are just wanting something to 'take the edge off' your roots or grey hairs then this product does that well. I have medium blonde hair & my roots are very dark brown. After three months of growth I wasn't expecting miracles! After using this product (on clean hair) I still have my roots but they are not so prominent & the colour is softened. I am only using this when I need to leave home for whatever reason. If you use too much of it it will make your hair feel sticky. I do think the product is quite expensive for the amount you get (75ml). Which is why I have given three stars for value for money.

I read the most recent reviews and hoes for the best. Having grey roots due to the lockdown, shining through during video calls, and no idea when my hairdresser would open again left me quite desperate for a wash our product. Over the counter hair dyes in my experience aren’t very good for grey hair. So, i took the leap and I’m so pleased I did. This product is fab. I went for the dark blonde due to comments on the effects of the brown and I’m so pleased with results. It blends with my (sort of) natural colour and hides the grey completely. It’s easy to use albeit I stood over the sink in the bathroom in case there were any disasters with the can leaking or spray going awry. The first time I sprayed it I was hesitant and there was some very slight drip from the can nozzle but it washed straight off the sink with water. I love this product and am so pleased I tried it.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this product. I've got blonde highlights and a lot of grey coming through at the roots because I can't see my hairdresser due to the lockdown. Rather than spray it all over my roots I picked up strands to give it a highlighted effect. Then I combed it through and it looks quite good (obviously not as good as my usual highlights but good enough that it covers my grey and looks natural). I think it takes a bit of practice to get the result you want and I would have liked a bigger can as I'm not sure it'll last that long. It's quite pricey but then I'm not spending the money at the hairdresser so I think it's worth it.
