I bought Ultra Violet after deciding I needed a color change (originally, I was RAW Bright Betty Red). I bleached the crap out of my hair until it was a sunset ombre sort of fade - yellow on top, neon pink toward the ends. I left Ultra Violet on for about an hour and a half before rinsing. I wish I would have left it a bit longer. While the color is fabulous and beautiful, I'm currently a week (and only one shampoo) out from dying and my color has begun to wash out considerably up on top. It's not BAD looking, it's just not as purple as it was, and you can see peeks of bleached hair poking out from under the color. I'm going to touch-up just for good measure.I'm not sure why it didn't take as well on the top of my head but it's likely my fault. :) Also, since I didn't evenly bleach my hair, it's purple up on top and plum-ish down toward the bottom - do NOT expect this color to work like permanent dyes and remove your current color/deposit new color - that's not how these work! They coat the surface of your hair and layer over the color you have. There are sections where I didn't quite get the color on there as well as i should have, and I have an interesting pink-purple blend. It's pretty, I like it, but next time I'll use two jars instead of just one, just for coverage's sake. I'm buying more to touch-up the top of my head with this weekend. It does stain clothing (which, sorry, you're pretty much screwed there) and will stain bathtubs/sinks/skin, but I have tips:#1, use gloves (duh)#2, lay down newspaper or old towels on your work surface, so when you set your jar down or lean against your counter, you don't spread the stain everywhere#3, When rinsing, lean over as close to the drain as possible and rinse the majority of the color out there before getting in the shower to rinse the rest of it.#4, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, use the eraser to scrub all surfaces the dye touched. Rinse the sponge well. It even works on your skin, just don't scrub too hard because it'll take off the top layer of skin if you do. Seriously, though, guys. It works.#5, Orange/Oxy cleanser - spray it on, let it sit, Magic Eraser over the top of it, rinse. Do this with every shampooing, and you'll have a white tub that stays white, I promise you.#6, when you're letting your color sit, wrap a plastic grocery bag around your head and pin it in place... just to avoid accidentally touching something with your gooey head. I have vaulted ceiling. My purple head came in contact with my white ceiling. Panic and chaos ensued.#7, use a color safe, sulfate/surfactant/salt-free shampoo & conditioner. ONLY shampoo when totally necessary, I recommend dry shampoo as much as possible. And if you don't want to buy a dry shampoo, look up how to make your own, or dust your hands with baby power and ruffle your hair with that. Makes your color last tremendously longer!

Could not be happier within 12 hours of ordering it had been dispatched and the next day it was delivered earlier than the estimated date which was 2 days and it was packaged nice and neat so there wasn't much of a chance of it exploding or being damaged in the shippingI was a bit skeptical after reading other reviews and a lot of people saying that it stains literally everything skin clothes etc. And i don't know whether it's because this is a much lighter colour compared to say a blue dye but I haven't had a single problem with it staining any of my actual clothes besides an old towel I had used although even after washing your hair it can still stain towels after washing it a second time.Ihave very long hair and usually have to buy a couple of boxes/tubs of hair dye to cover my hair however I dyed half underneath my hair and not my entire head and even then I still have half of the tub left for top ups although if your hair is long and doing the entire head I would recommend getting a second tub just incase but one should do the job.First photo is right after I had dyed my hair and the second is after 1 wash with a little shampoo, conditioner in cold water to keep the colour longer. Although in the photo it doesn't look very bright in person and in different lighting it does still have the bright colour to it as when I first dyed it. That's the only problem with this colour is that it looks very different under different lighting although that could be a good thing also.tldr only experienced it staining towels, fast delivery, couldn't be happier and will be purchasing other colours.

So far it’s been in a few weeks & it does seem like the amplified has more staying power than the “Atomic Blue” I usually use. This color is on natural gray hair (growing out roots). Seems like the clarifying shampoo hint really helped (I used a brand that wasn’t Manic Panic though) to set the color in, but when I do wash, it seems to rinse out a bit more and more. Still sticking in longer than the non-amplified. I actually thought this color would be a little darker than my usual color, but it actually seemed to come out more Smurf colored than my usual color choice. It’s still ok. Ease of use for putting in isn’t easy, but that’s a personal issue.I don’t usually dye with such intense color that has a tendency to stain everything in its wake (it’ll come out), & it’s hard for me to just get the roots. I personally let it process a LONG time (usually about 3 hours, it’s vegan, it’s fine); I put on a shower cap and recently added this ridiculous hair dryer attachment that works really well - I’ll review that as well, you’ll laugh at me.All in all it’s a cool color but I think I’ll try something else next time. Pro amateur tip: wear something you don’t mind getting stained for dyeing b/c you will get stains unless you’re amazing at this. It’s also really important to use cold water to rinse, & I avoid shampooing the dye as much as possible for longevity’s sake. Also, invest in like a dye bottle or kit or you’ll just have big blobs of dye in your hair and the first time I attempted Manic Panic most of my sink ended up blue.Otherwise, go for it! I’s fun & impermanent so why not?

I have been colouring my hair blue for almost 3 years. It was initially bleached but I did't like how dry my ends got so stopped bleaching and decided to keep topping up blue every few months to my lightened hair and dye black my brown/grey roots. I wasn't able to buy my usual blue dye since Covid outbreak, my hair turned into mix of grey/brown,green, washed out blue so I was desperate for strong colourant. Decided to try Manic Panic Amplified as temporary solution until I can buy my usual dye. It was very easy to apply to my hair, didn't stain my skin badly like other products do, very little smell at all so I was able to have it on my head for 5 hours to set it really well.Rinsed off easily and didn't stain my bathtub. I have applied conditioner and let my hair dry naturally. My hair was left soft and shiny, very impressed. My dark roots are now midnight colour as this dye given it beautiful black/blue shade, my faded blue/green ends are now dark turquoise so exactly what I wanted. Nice and even coverage. Slept on white pillowcase, colour didn't transfer at all, not even on my white t-shirt. 4 days late first wash, expected loads of die to bleed but there was hardly any blue water in my tub. I always use cold water and Colour Protect Low Shampoo + conditioner to keep the colour vibrant for many weeks. This bottle was just enough to saturate well my thin, shoulder blades length hair. For thick hair I would definitely recommend using 2 bottles just to be on a safe side. Will definitely buy again.

Having normally been a fire red Crazy Color girl I wanted to try another brand to see if there was something better out there. I prefer the actual colour of Crazy Colour and I feel that it covers better and the colour lasts longer. In addition, this dye transfers onto my light grey hoody and also onto my light colour pillow case (does wash out fine) but I don't ever remember having the same problem with Crazy Colour.I'm changing my colour to paprika next week but when I go back red I think I would buy Crazy Colour.Tips for keeping red hair red:If you have dark hair, bleach to a light ginger colour first.Wash hair in cold water - colder the better.Don't wash your hair every day,or even every other day - once every 3 days is good and freshen up with dry shampoo in between washes, you will seriously struggle to maintain your colour if you wash everyday. After shampooing, mix conditioner with a good squirt of the dye and work through your hair and leave for 5 minutes or so - do this every time you wash your hair and it will keep your colour fresh.Use a good shampoo and condition for coloured hair - I used Tigi Bed Head Colour Goddess, the smell is utterly divine and I could eat my hair afterwards. So to sum up, if you've never used Crazy Colour you'd probably love Manic Panic as it is a good product but I personally prefer Crazy Color.Stupid selfie picture on the left is Crazy Colour, mirror selfie on the right is Manic Panic - I think Crazy Color is brighter.

Just what I needed! I have red hair and I've been trying to bleach pieces of it so I could tint it aqua or any of those wild fun colors. Of course none of those fun colors will take to red, plus you have to keep your basic color rules in mind so you don't end up with the wrong color. For example after one bleaching the red was sort of an orange color and I used an aqua color.....the result was Christmas Green!!!! At least it was Christmas time, so we joked that with my red hair and green highlights I had "festive hair" :) I did not want to keep just bleaching my hair causing more damage. I read other reviews for this product and thought I'd give it a try. I used 40 volume for 25 minutes then rinsed (I don't remember if I washed :/ ) Then I followed the application directions on this bottle. I told my husband, who assists me in my home hair coloring, that I had read other reviews concerning the length of processing time and the hair turning a violet/bluish hue. We met in the middle on the processing time, a few of the thinner strands did turn a little violet, but it only added to the final color. This did the trick!!!! My red hair was finally highlighted white!!!!!! I followed with Manic Panic Aqua hair dye and I can't wait to try another color. Just know this is only a SMALL bottle in this listing, so if you have A LOT of hair you will need to buy accordingly.

I've used a variety of brands when it comes to dye. But I've got Manic Panic down to a science. First off, I use the "no-poo" method of washing my hair. (Google it) Basically I only use apple cider vinegar to clean my hair. Shampoo will leach the dye out of your hair. Not using it means my color lasts and is vibrant for months on end.Secondly, you have to bleach your hair first. No matter how light your hair is, you want to bleach it so it's porous enough to absorb the dye. This will also make your color last longer. Finally, after I put the dye in, I wrap my head in plastic wrap, slap on a shower cap or old hat and leave the dye in for about 24 hours.Manic Panic is highly conditioning so this will actually improve your hair rather than damage it.The quality does seem to vary from color to color. Cotton Candy Pink and Lavender Blue did not adhere well to my hair, despite all my effort. However, Atomic Turquoise came out spectacularly and has held its color for two months now. It looks like it did the days after I dyed it. I get tons of compliments and I absolutely love the way it looks. I just ordered a new bottle and a bleach kit to do my roots. There are a million "funky color" dyes on the market, but Manic Panic is the old favorite for a reason. It WORKS. And it's cruelty-free to boot!!! What more could you ask for?

Bought for wife, alot. She says: Manic Panic has never claimed to be permanent, why is everyone shocked when it fades? Lol. Aaaand sometimes your hair is NOT POROUS enough to hold after a bleach or two if your hair is very healthy to begin with. You have to fry your hair to get these TEMPORARY colors to stay even a week. Sooooo that being said, if you use flat irons, hairdryers you will fade, perfectly normal. If you get your hair wet it will fade. It is a great TEMPORARY hair color. And I prefer it after its faded, BUT I prefer pastels. Most dont. So maybe alot of you gals need to bleach twice first, just to get a few extra days of color. It's a high maintenance hair color choic. But it will still fade, that's what these products do. Even "PERMANENT" fashion colors fade. There is no TRULY PERMANENT fashion colors on the market yet. So enjoy your temp color, that's all it is.PASTEL DIRECTIONS: add to a lot of conditioner (4 long hair) until it is the shade you desire and apply to hair, then cap your hair and heat for at least 30 min, allow hair to cool totally, to close cuticles, then rinse in cold water. Tip, vinegar rinse helps retain color, smell fades as hair dries.

- I love how vibrant this color is!- The directions are perfect and simple.- Yes, it can stain. It is a dye after all. If you get it somewhere you don't want it, say the wall or the floor, just be sure to clean it while you are waiting for your hair to process! I used Dawn Dishsoap™ and it came off with a little scrubbing. Same goes with skin. (I cleaned my skin with Dawn™ after I rinsed the color.)- How I applied mine: (Don't forget to Lighten your hair if you don't have platinum blonde hair and want a brighter blue.) Washed my hair with plain shampoo in hot water. No conditioner! Blew dry my hair. Brushed it thoroughly. Sectioned my hair. Applied ChapStick to hairline around head.Put on gloves and applied the color. Combed hair and made sure color was evenly distributed. Placed on a shower cap. Applied high heat blow dry to hair for 2 minutes. Let sit for 1 hour. Rinsed with ice cold water until water was clear.- TIP: Color will stain sheets first few nights. I wear a shower cap and a black Bondi Band™ to secure cap the first few nights to prevent that from happening.- TIP: Wash hair every 5 days to let collr last longer. Dry shampoo between.

I never write reviews but it deserves a mention. I’ve tried many different hair dyes that never seem to last or look very vibrant. I was real close to just turning to a permanent pastel but I decided to go HOT pink so it would fade to my desired colour as shown in the second image. I always used sulphate free products and colour protection products alongside cold water when washing my hair to keep colour and I would be lucky if colour lasted more than 3 washes on my hair. I tried Directions , Crazy colour , LIVE colours and even shopping brands such as Morrison’s and I found none that lasted without going patchy and washed out on my ends until this colour.I’ve had it in for 3 weeks and I’ve washed it 5 times and it’s not budged much other than the ends being lighter pink. In fact , it looks like I’ve done it on purpose. If you’re wanting to go for a pastel colour that will last a while I recommend these amplified colours. For a person who gets mucky a lot at work and likes to enjoy a bath I can safely say even with hot water the colour won’t fade much. I love manic panic and I refuse to go back.

bleached my hair with the 40 developer by manic panic (virgin hair dirty blonde) left it on for like 30 minutes and became Draco Malfoy. (Included photo to show how blonde I was before applying color) I applied this to my top of my hair and green envy to my root and shaved parts. Not quite neon/joker green I was going for but still very vibrant and I’m still happy! I’ll probably reapply it in the next few days and leave it on longer.I’ll update later on how long it lasted/fading color/transfer etcIt also glows under black lightUpdate: 03/2020 one bottle lasted me since September but note I have super short hair. I was able to use it twice before running out.I have to dye my hair about every 2 months so I think this color is fabulous. It fades to almost a “sprite yellow” tone which doesn’t look bad at all. There’s literally no transfer to my knowledge like I’m used to with red/purple hair colors. This color is comparable to pravana neon green. Overall I suggest!!

Okay let's face it: colors of the rainbow don't last forever in your hair no matter how bleached it is before hand. If you are looking for a permanent dye this is not the one to get and I seriously recommend not dying your hair any abnormal color - if you want it to be permanent. That being said, this hair dye works great for 3-7 days. I got amazing color payoff from this dye (I did bleach before) and unlike previous times it did not bleed onto my pillow case and towel! It does fade fairly quickly. For me, after my first wash there were a few places that were lighter than others. I don't know if this is the dye's fault or mine - as I colored my hair by myself. It stayed quite vibrant for the first week - washing my hair as infrequently as possible ~ 3 times that week. Then it really started to fade fast. I just washed my hair again, just over two weeks after the initial dying and it is basically gone. (Pictures are second day, 1 week and 2 weeks post)

I've been dying my hair for over six years now and I can't believe it's taken me so long to try Manic Panic out.The price put me off when I was younger, being a student I didn't really have the funds to buy these little tubs lacking harsh chemicals. It took me until quite recently to work out a lot of my headaches occurred on the days following dying my hair. This was definitely a whim but possibly the best one I've had in a long while. It's unscented, the perfect texture and an absolutely gorgeous colour when first applied. I'll admit, the colour (cotton candy) fades pretty quickly, I can manage three washes before my hair turns in to dusty peach with blonde streaks. The tubs only have enough to give two good applications (on medium length, prelightened hair) but the product is so good I think it's pretty worth it.If you have sensitive skin or just want to give your hair an ethical dose of colour, this is a really lovely product.

I love manic panic and have used it for many years.Moving to the UK made it hard to find for me for a while unitl i found i could order it online.I will say its much more expensive than what I used to pay but when you need a good colour that stays on long enough, you must try Manic Panic. The amplified versions are a bit more expensive but the colours are definitely amplified.I think Ive worn every color and I totally recommend.I like how it feels in my hair as well, its like having a conditioner because it makes my hair feel soft.If you want more vibrant colors try the amplified versions of color, for an easy touch up use the regular versions.I would love to see bigger jars but thats just a dream on my end.I would also recommend my seller sending them in better packaging (small box)because I recieved it in a amazon envelope and that would make it easy for the item to be damaged if crushed.

My first time using manic panic and I think I'll try them again.I wish I'd have seen how much you actually get though cause it was a tiny pot for £15, however it did manage to coat all my hair (I left the ends mainly to put something else on them).Wished it would have gripped more to my root area, but I understand that wasn't as light as it could have been!Love the thick texture as it means no dripping and it surprisingly goes a long way! Love the overall tone and shade. My hair is left feeling drier than usual (did leave it on for about an hour and i think its less conditioning than the other dyes i use, vegetable based). Think I'd like to try this shade again, or others generally, when I eventually fully bleach my whole head again as I reckon that shall show best results!
