Are you anything like me regarding setting up your hair-color appointments months in advance around all the special occasions that you need/want to look amazing ?Has an sudden event ever happened that you were not prepared for...such as the last minute notification that out of town guests are coming and there is no way that your hair dresser can fit you in, or you just do not have the extra time to color those grey roots?Well, take a deep breath and then exhale, because this little color root cover up can perform a miracle in about 5 minutes, with a pair of steady hands. You do not need to use those root color creams that require the application, a 10 minute wait, a wash out, and then the blow dry and style. Moreover, those messy root color markers leave your hair with a slightly greasy after look, and the same greasy effect can be the result from those `hair mascaras'.First of all, this Wow cover up is a powder, so there is none of that greasiness that spoils your freshly washed hair. Wow, comes with a double-sided brush, long thick soft bristles on one end, and shorter thick bristles on the other, for a close up application down deep where the roots are right next to the scalp. The shorter bristle side also gives you better control for all the areas that frame your face. The powder does NOT come off onto your clothes, and my pillowcase remains clean. If you do smear a little on your face, just take a moist face cloth and gently rub the excess off your skin. It's easy, fast and efficient. In addition, your freshly washed hair stays clean because there is NO greasy build-up.This little miracle Wow Cover-up is the very best idea that I have experienced in over 30 years that I have had my hair colored. The color stays for a few days, enough to get me through that `unexpected' time, or if necessary it just takes only 5 minutes to refresh the color a few days later. So, no more stress or panic when that unexpected event happens, just an extra 5 minutes with steady hands and my Wow Cover-Up saves the day.A little helpful tip, Wow cover up tends to be a little darker, so go one shade lighter. I used the medium brown when a light brown might have been a bit better, but Wow!.. I still looked a whole lot better than having grey roots or a greasy build-up, and no one noticed at all...just compliments...'your hair looks terrific'...and it did and I loved it, I was relaxed and I felt pretty!Thank you for reading my review, and I hope it has been helpful in advice, usage and tips.

This stuff is AMAZING! And water-resistant OMG!!! I did actually say "WOW" when I started using it!I'm very active, have extremely thin, fine hair, and thinning hair on top of that. I hate coloring because I always have hair fallout and more breakage, but within a couple weeks you can see gray. My scalp shows also from hair thinning and I can get so depressed standing in a restaurant bathroom with overhead lighting that glows off my scalp! Spray covers work only for an evening after style is perfect and hope that when you spray - it's even. Fibers only work if the placement is also perfect and there's no wind or moisture. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally dumped on my hairline.I have tried other powers, but moisture....yikes, it drips down my forehead like mascara. I have tried liquid mascara-type covers and stick covers, sticks work better, but all of the above either don't cover perfectly or sticky feeling or both, if touched will come off, and someone with super fine hair gets weighed down with product and looks greasy or strange. This stuff covers amazing with very little product. There is a slight stickiness to it the more product you apply, but so much less. If you rub it, there may be the slightest residue, but barely. And I have gone swimming and exercising without any issues. It really does need to be washed out. Instruction of pulling dry hair tight to scalp and apply to roots is exactly that. I pull it tight to scalp, then opposite for ponytail. I kept telling my husband how incredible this product really is. He keeps saying, "You already told me that", and I'm like, "You just don't understand - this stuff is amazing!!!"Takes 5-15 min to apply depending on hair style and amount of grey or scalp.I sometimes use in Conjunction with:Fanci-Full liquid (after shampoo before hairdry). OR Everpro Gray Away Root Stick (for baby hairs in front).Get this WOW product girls! It's expensive, but oh so worth it! I'm getting a lighter version for summer highlights too.

I'm Jim's wife, not Jim. :) I have a few random grays throughout my dark brown hair, but my main problems are at my temples and one streak in my bangs. Well, it would be a streak, but I won't allow that to happen. Because I don't have a huge problem with the gray, and because, when I do get my hair done I'm only matching my natural color, I don't want to go more often than I need. It feels ridiculous to go and spend all that time and money on color when I just have a couple problem areas. At the same time, I am SO self-conscious about my gray that I can't just leave it alone either! Hence, my decision to try this out. It's been over 2 months since I went to the salon.I purchased this to tide me over until the next trip. Overall, I'm really happy with it! I use the small end to apply the powder to my problem areas. It shade the skin underneath the hair (which I guess is why some people use it to make their thinning hair look fuller) and it also coats the strands with color. It doesn't make the gray hair as dark as the others, but it darkens it enough so that it blends in naturally. I was thrilled!Apparently, it's supposed to last until the next shampooing. I didn't find this to be true at all. I'll apply it in the morning before work, and if I'm heading out at night I might touch it up again. I'll definitely need to apply it again the next morning. An irritating side effect is that the powder gets under my nails and makes me look like a serial gardener. This is probably because I'm habitually running my fingers through my hair. It washed out fairy easily, but it was another thing for me to be self-conscious about! Anyway, my solution was to keep my fingernails painted. :)All in all, four stars! The missing star is due to the fact that it needs reapplication fairly frequently and it sticks under my fingernails. But all in all, I'm thrilled!

Well, I'm giving it a really good testing. I'm letting my hair grow out to do a hair analysis and so my hair has to be grown out about 1 1/2" to test the natural hair. This stuff really covers the grey well and it stays on for long time. I think if you just have to touch up a 1/2" or so, it wouldn't take to long but with mine grown out so long it takes quite a while because I have to do the underneath layers on top as well because when my hair divides, you can see the grey roots. Because of the time it takes to cover, I only wash my hair every 3 to 5 days and I can say it does stay on. There might be a few places around my face that I touch up but I'm impressed on how well it does stay on.I have noticed that my scalp does get a little itchy where I used the cover up after a few days. They state to use the small end of the brush but I use the long end and just dab it because I have so much to cover otherwise I'd never get it done. My hair is more of a golden ash blonde so the color I chose was dark blonde and it seems to work for me as a winter color. It is January right now as I write this. I may try a lighter color next time especially since I will have highlights when I finally get my hair colored again. I won't have so much to cover either. All in all, I like the product. Didn't really check to much into the ingredients since I was desperate for something to cover my grey when I ran out of Mineral Fusion's grey root concealer. I really like that product too, their light brown matches my golder hair color but they are out of stock. At least I had the chance to find Color Wow. A much better price as Mineral Fusion's didn't last to long, making it a lot more expensive. If your looking for a grey root color, this does a good job in my opinion.

I have dark brown hair - almost black - and it's very noticeable when there's any gray. As my son says, "kind of looks like sparkles." Not what I want to hear.I have colored it for years but the older I get, the less flattering it is to have it too dark - especially near the face - and when I've tried to make it lighter I end up with it looking brassy. I wish there was some sort of semi-permanent color that would just color the grays and have them look like highlights but so far that doesn't exist. So, for the past several months my hairdresser has only been highlighting and lowlighting my hair and not using any more base color and I think this is going to be the answer for me,but it's been frustrating knowing that I have a ways to go until it looks right and is more fully grown out. The white/gray still stands in too much contrast to the rest of my hair - so I decided to give this a try.I am so glad I did. At first I tried the blonde root cover because I figured that would work best to just highlight the white but it turns out that for me, the light brown is best and covers the gray better. The blonde almost leaves it a little gold/orange wheras the light brown turns the gray into more of a carmel/beige which is just what I was looking for.I use the brush (both ends work fine for me) and just brush the color on the gray, starting at the root. If I go too fast a little bit will end up on the scalp but it's light enough to look okay and so much better than having the gray stand out.Highly highly recommended. It truly adheres to the hair and it doesn't make your hair "sticky" like some of the mascara-like coverups.

This product really works! I saw some reviews that say you should hair spray before applying to ultra-clean hair, but I didn't have to do this. I would shower, blow dry, apply and it worked great. I do find that there is an art to it to avoid it hitting the skin in the front of your face (you need to pull taught and away from the skin).I have a lot of grey and used to color every 4-6 weeks. Now I'm pushing 3 months (much healthier for my hair!). I should warn you tho - I'm not so sure I would recommend this if I had a LOT of sections to cover. I am a no-makeup shower and go type of person, and this product equates to putting on makeup. It takes me about 5 minutes in the morning (which is a loooong time for a no makeup person).I only apply it on my temples and then a few places in my middle part and side part). I don't try to cover every single section of my part that has a single grey strand, as I find these are really not noticeable. I just hit the big (white) spots. I wouldn't recommend using this if you want to meticulously match ALL of your roots to match the rest of your dyed portion.....unless you have the patience of a saint.overall though, i am VERY happy with this product. It also does stay on if you sleep on it or wear a hat. I haven't tried out getting it wet yet though.

My hairdresser recommended this to me ages ago to touch up my grey roots and extend the time between colouring appointments. I didn't get into the habit of using it though. Until now.Chemotherapy using the horrendous cold cap means that I kept most of my hair, but I hadn't taken into account the regrowth of roots afterwards with no colouring permitted for at least 3 months. So I now have 3 inches of grey & chemo-white roots which I can completely disguise with this powder. I need help to do it as I can't see to apply it on the crown or at the back of my head where the hair has thinned a little. But the transformation is amazing! No one would ever guess that I had been through all this trauma. It does not come out or run in the rain, but it does shampoo out of my hair completely.I sleep on a silk pillowcase to avoid strain on my delicate hair follicles and I must point out that some excess powder does come out on the pillowcase at night. It washes out very easily with no staining. However there is no powder in the bed, i.e. it stays where it falls. This powder has really helped my morale over the last couple of months and I would recommend it to anyone who keeps their hair through chemo and then develops unwanted chemo-white or normal grey roots.

--- MY INITIAL REVIEW ---Wow! Just bought the red and it's the first time I've ever tried a root cover-up. It works perfectly! I can't see the roots at all after I put it on. I was worried about the color as my hair is a lighter shade of red (close to strawberry blond), but it blends in beautifully. It stays in really well too. Even after I shower, it's still there if I haven't shampooed. Sometimes I use conditioner only, and that only took out a little bit of it. And it takes about 2 minutes to put more on. I'm immediately delaying my next dye job by a week. :-) Awesome product! Keeping it in my purse from now on. :-) So glad I tried it! Yay!--- TWO YEARS LATER ---I seriously can't live without this product.I start using it in the 3rd week after my dye job. I use it often because I tend to wash my hair out daily (if you don't wash your hair all the time, it lasts a lot longer). Even using it a lot, it still takes me 5-6 months to use up a container of it. I buy the red, and it blends in beautifully whether my hair is dark red or whether it's faded to strawberry blonde. It allows me to go longer between dye jobs if I need to also. FANTASTIC PRODUCT.

I'm fussy. I was afraid to use this because I figured that I'd have fake-looking powdery crap staining my clothes, furniture, and so on, and which would completely wash away with the first rain or hard sweat at the gym. I'm so happy to report that none of the above is the case. As other reviewers have said, I've found this product to work extremely well at hiding that nasty grey line that appears in between salon visits. I have a medium brown shade of hair color with warm tones and I bought the medium brown and it blends really well. I just brush it into my part and a little bit of my hairline around my face, especially at the top where I'm very grey. It stays in place, and if I lightly wipe a towel across it to take off excess, it doesn't "fall out all over the place" at all, but covers quite well. I'm super happy that now I can wait 3 weeks before going back to the salon. I had been using Clairol's Natural Instincts in medium brown on my roots only in between professional colorings, and it began to build up terribly in my hair and produce a very flat, black look. Now I don't have to do that. Hurrah!

Bought this because I'm 70% gray and got tired of battering my scalp dying my hair every 3 weeks. I didn't think it would work. And to be honest, initially it didn't. What changed, the way I applied and the tool. The brush they provide is suppose to give you an accurate application but actually it looks really weird and unnatural. I decided not to use it anymore until one day I was desperate. I had a meeting and the gray would have been distracting - I found the Color Wow at the bottom of my cosmetic drawer and I opened it and that's when I noticed my makeup brush. The full, fluffy one. Using the blush brush I dabbed on the color and then dabbed on my hair. I used ZERO skill or accuracy.I literally was dabbing and dabbing. Not only did it work, it stayed on for days. AND it looked better the day after. This has changed my life! My hair grows fast and the roots pop up quick. This has now prolonged the dye job by at least 1 week or 2 - depending on my needs. Oh, and BONUS - I use it on my eye brows as well. I overplucked once upon a time and now I can fill those gaps flawlessly.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I have been looking for a while for a solution to get me through between stylist appointments. This formula covers fully and perfectly. I have medium brown hair with gold and auburn highlights. I initially purchased the medium brown at a retail store and it was way too dark, but the coverage was great, so I decided to try one shade lighter, and it works perfectly. The formula is a "moist powder" - similar to eye shadow. I apply to my part with the wide end of the brush, and blend in with the thicker small brush. It washes off completely with soap and water, and certainly after a shampoo.I use it on my part and my "sideburns". Would have given five stars, but since my sideburns are a different hair texture (curly/coarse/wiry), it doesn't cover as well. I suppose if I applied multiple coats, it might ultimately cover fully, but i don't want it to look like an unnatural hairline, so I only apply lightly.I think the size will last me a good long time and it's the best solution I've found yet to address that "between appointment" regrowth!

After years of expensive salon and do it myself highlighting and coloring I have finally found a product I am in LOVE with. I am not sure if I am ready to make the leap into the let nature take its course realm of the gray haired women look yet...in the mean time WOW really comes in handy for those in between moments. My box hair color is Loreal No.5 Cool with No.6 highlights so the WOW in light brown works great for me. While it doesn't eliminate the gray 100% it actually diffuses and blends it right into the rest of the color of my hair. My gray roots are about 1" out, while I decide what I am going to do in the future, color or not...this product blends everything so nicely, without WOW I have the proverbial skunk white/gray line running down my part. It's not greasy, or messy, but a dry powder that does not come off on my pillow when I'm sleeping or dust off. In fact it even looks better the next day after application! It lasts until the next time you wash your hair too. Seriously, I want to own stock in this company, they have a hit!

I am Indian and I colour my hair black, but within the month, I'll end up with a strip of white roots in the middle of my hair. Before, I used to use sprays but a friend told me about WOW. She uses it and said it was great for covering the white roots until my next colour. I had a look, but was worried because WOW is rather pricey, compared with other products. My friend buys the 'dark brown' for her black hair, so I did the same, but I did thinks 'should I buy the black?'. Anyway, the product arrived, and I tried the 'dark brown' straight away. I found the description of the product to be true: it covered the white root strip in the middle of my head (parting),it doesn't smudge onto pillows (but will be on your fingertips if you rub your fingers in it), dark brown was spot on for my black hair, and I'm confident that no-one will spot that I've used it because it looks so natural. The big question: would I recommend it? Absolutely. :)

I have been having my hair dyed medium brown for years, but now I am 60 the grey roots are really showing through about a week before my colour touch up at the hairdressers is due. I have been using colour dry shampoo to try to cover it, but needed to keep reapplying throughout the day ( which made my hair dry ) When I heard about WOW on daytime TV I thought I would give it a try, even though it cost £28 !! I ordered medium brown, which looks a bit dark at first, but when applied it just blends in with my darker hair and you cannot see a single grey. It looks just like I have had a colour at the hairdressers and now I can go longer between colours (5 weeks instead of 4 ) so it will soon pay for itself. It stays in until you shampoo it out and it doesn't transfer onto skin or clothing. I just wish I had found this product years ago, it definitely does what it says on the tin !!

I originally bought this for root touch ups, but now use it on my greying eyebrows as well. It’s easy to use and works brilliantly if you tap the small end of the brush very very lightly on the block of colour, pick up a tiny amount and apply to eyebrow(s). I then brush the eyebrow(s) with an eyebrow brush to work in the powder (the kind that has a little comb for eyelashes the other side - very cheap at Boots). Might want to try it on the back of your hand first. Older women should not make their eyebrows too dark as shows up fine lines and that’s really ageing! I am a warm blond with discreet highlights and use light brown. If I accidentally apply too much I wipe the eyebrow over with a tissue to disperse it.Beauticians often dye eyebrows too dark, and it’s a disaster as you’re stuck with it for weeks. This is more work, but the result is worth it! Highly recommend.
