My ten year old foster daughter has a huge collection of LEGO playsets and was thrilled to be able to add this one to the mix. Lego Movie 2 Queen Watevra's 'So Not Evil' Space Palace Playset comes with all the pieces to build the Space Palace which includes a rotating top section, two balconies, security room, dining room and the royal guard's lollipop. This set is great fun and has everything required for imaginative and interactive gameplay. Included in this fantastic set are detachable pods, a security screen, table, two seats, a DJ booth, coffee cup, heart, donut, ice cream cone, star and the following figures ... Batman mini figure, Celeste mini figure, Queen Watevra,Royal Guard and two Heart brick built figures. This excellent Lego set contains 995 pieces which is a lot in anyone's book and when the multi levelled and multi roomed palace is complete it looks terrific with many playable elements. My foster daughter has really had a lot of fun playing with this set and her younger brother.Recommended age for this LEGO set is nine plus and my foster daughter managed to follow the comprehensive instructions (from the booklet) and build this without any help, it took her quite a few hours and quite a few evenings after school to complete this amazing palace ... but that's all part of the fun. The great thing about Movie 2 LEGO sets is that all the sets work well with each other...meaning your child can create a complete world of LEGO.This is one of the more expensive LEGO sets at slightly under £95 but the finished building measures an impressive 48cm in height x 34cm in width x 18cm in depth and has so much detail it is certainly worth the cost.Recommended.

I'm going to start with a quick moan - but don't misunderstand - this is an excellent kit! The base. until you start placing the pink blocks is quite tricky because it's not secure until a little later on. This caused a little frustration BUT is well worth a little perseverance (or if necessary, parental support). This palace is more complex that it looks from the front design - it's intricate and detailed, with many original nuances. It's not a large model, actually more compact that it seems on the box. For children who have seen the movie, this is easily identifiable and is "just like the real thing". The minifigures (wow to Groom Batman) are a great addition and six of them is a generous amount. They are a mix of Lego Friends type model and standard ones (as they are in the film). The instruction book is hefty - one of the largest I have seen. It was clear for the most part, although occasionally a little trial and error is required when placing parts together. There's a sheet of stickers that will need applying, none of which are too small (a two block in the smallest).Overall, this is a delightful tie-in to The Lego Movie 2, which will take many hours to build (mostly by one child). Once finished it offers both role play ability with the minifigures as well as just looking elegant and majestic.

This is a 9+ set but if you have a patient, lego loving child it's fine for younger children. We have a 7 year old who has built the death star so this was no problem for him, with a little adult support at the very beginning. This is a great movie tie-in if you have seen and enjoyed the film (which we have.) My fav are the cute stars, the boys is groom batman. I wish this had come with Emmet or a good guy to come and 'save the day' but that is only a niggle and if you have other Lego2 sets you likely have him already. With a total of 997 pieces, and a finished height of almost half a metre, this LEGO set is a big one (with a price to match).Queen Watevra’s ‘So-Not-Evil’ Space Palace was a joy for my almost-8 year old to build over a couple of weekends. It was a challenge, being rated for ages 9+ but definitely okay for slightly younger children as well who have the patience.Minifigs included are Groom Batman, Celeste (friends style), Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi, Ice Cream Cone, star/hearts and Royal Guard robot. This gave us endless fun playing with it after it was built and was one of or longer build with a big instruction book (although nowhere near as big as death star - that cured me of thinking most instructions books are big - that was a whopper!)

Sitting near the top of the range, this chance to create the classic scene from the Lego Movie 2 is an interesting one and full of varied play opportunities. While the colour scheme and some of the figures might make it seem at home in the Friends series - this fortunately doesn't suffer from some of the weaknesses those sets sometimes do.The build is straightforward and interesting though the set seems a little unstable for the first 30 steps - as you build up the elements of the palace and get inducted in to the stories of each of the areas can tell as the portrait lay out 300ish steps play out. There's a few new and interesting parts here, while characters - some brick built, some friends and some minifigures add to the mix. There are also a few rotating and opening elements to add to the fun. There's a little bit of repetition in the build and also a few stickers which is slightly annoying but some interesting building techniques to make up the curves make up for this.Overall, this is a great set in that it's an interesting build, has good use of pieces, new elements and plenty of playability. Whether you're recreating the scene from the film or telling a whole new story then this is a good one to have.

There are eight characters from the LEGO Movie 2 included here, but minifigs are rare amongst them. You get a fun batman minifig, for example, but other characters are constructed in different ways. Watevra, is block-built; Celeste is a mini-doll; etc. This is totally appropriate, and works well when it comes to the source material, but it was perhaps a little bit disappointing for me in such a large (approx 1000 piece) set. However, when it comes to other blocks and features, this set really shines. You'll find unique and fun pieces here like a goblet, a DJ booth, and what appears to be a croissant. This is a top-of-the-range selection of unusual items that can either be used for a variety of play activities with this set,or be used in free play to great effect. As you might imagine for an almost 1000-piece set, this is a long and somewhat challenging build. It's suitable as a gift for someone who already has a well-known interest in LEGO, and LEGO building - but in my opinion it's not a casual purchase or activity.

This is a little different to 'standard' Lego, as you can see. As ever though, it's excellent fun for Ollie. He managed to get through the sizeable booklet, as a 9 year old. He said it was more difficult at the beginning because of pieces being left exposed during that part of the build. Good to have a set that challenged him a bit. Got there in the end though over the course of a few hours of dexterity. He found the amount of custom pieces great to deal with because it's what makes the set a little different. The amount of pieces and characters certainly allows for plenty of 'off piste' building after the set is completed. Hopefully nothing gets lost though!Quality is excellent, as always. As the adult, I'd say it's expensive but do you a lot for the money. Is it worth it? Just about but very close on being a little overpriced. Ollie's pleased as punch so that adds 100% to the value, I guess!?!

There are two types attracted to Lego - those who play with it, and those who like model-making. This has play value but the attraction might be more for the modeller - with it's 3D jigsaw/meccano qualities, it is a time passer. The age is 9+ and I believe this is the reason. There are a number of stars, hearts and characters (I haven't seen the movie to understand them) that are Play, but the Space Palace is definitely for the modeller to assemble.Being a specialist sci-fi theme, it does not have the extended value of "real-life" sets which can be mixed. To improve play value it will be necessary to have more from this genre - maybe something to think about when buying. As always, Lego means best quality.Durable reusable pieces (don't lost the instruction manual).

With nearly 1000 pieces and standing nearly 50cm high, Queen Watevra's palace is an impressive construction. Building is time consuming, but with easy to follow instructions, it is a fairly easy challenge. Once complete there are movable and detachable pieces. Set includes 8 characters figure from the film, to enact your own scenes with.Everything in this set is top quality. Looks very impressive, with good play value. Not suitable for infants, as contains small parts.

This Lego set is a classic example of the beauty and ingenuity of Lego products. The palace takes hours to build, but once built, the whole thing is quite mesmerising. The material is of very good quality, the plastic has the classic shine that makes the colour both deep and vibrant. One to treasure and to display at place of pride in the home.

Bought as a Christmas present & we weren’t disappointed. My son LIVES Lego and he was extra keen to receive this for Christmas. Despite its complex design the set is relatively easy to build & features all the key features you’ll recognise if you’ve seen the film.On the expensive side, but worth it.

This is a nice, futuristic Lego set from the Lego Movie theme. It was appealing to my niece who is about 11 or 12, but all children in the age category will enjoy this set, aimed directly at girls. Recommended, although Lego is pricey...

My children loved building this. It's large and has lots of components so requires a fair bit of patience. The end result is definitely worth it and offers lots of scope for imaginative play.
