This is a huge kit (over 1800 bricks!) and represents the Fist-shaped spaceship belonging to the character "Rex Dangervest" from the LEGO Movie called the "Rexcelsior".On the plus side there is plenty to build and will keep even my star LEGO creator (Benjamin, aged 6) occupied for several hours.And it has 6 missiles - always popular!My only real quibble is with the micro-figures which are tiny... I get that this is because LEGO want the spaceship to be at the micro-scale level - but (as a long term LEGO fan) it is taking quite an adjustment to refocus the kit to a different scale. It looks to me a bit odd having the tiny detailed micro-figures against the normal sized bricks.HERE IS THE BLURB

I've always been a big LEGO fan, and I luckily have two nephews aged eight and ten that share my enthusiasm. This LEGO MOVIE 2 spaceship is the latest set I have received for review via the Amazon Vine program.Now, I'm used to 1000 piece Lego projects but wasn't quite prepared for the enormity of this task. This set includes a whopping 1826 pieces, which is, erm, quite a lot. It is also quite a technical build, with an inner working spring-loaded mechanism. Unfortunately, due to the difficulty of building this, I didn't have a great deal of help from my Nephews, which is understandable (although, they did their best to assist).I set off building this, cruising through each numbered packet,

As a small boy my parents bought me so much Lego, it is frightening to think about how much they spent. The bricks and shapes I could create kept me fascinated for hours. I remember my finest "creation" was built from a box of "Technical" lego and it was a motorised crane. I still have it all in a great big Lego floor bag. Sadly the instructions to build the crane has gone, but it does not stop the next generations from using their imaginations and creativity to build things from the innocent looking bricks. When Vine offers Lego sets I, of course, grab them, but nowadays, I ensure they are not mixed up with the general bag and the boxes and instructions are kept.This set will build an intergalactic dart firing spacecraft,

This is definitely NOT a first set of LEGO or a set for beginners. There are loads of tiny, fiddly pieces and the intructions, while good, are long and you need to stick to them. Only experienced LEGO builders need apply and I would say the 10+ suggestion is a good one, unless you want this to be a family build. If you're familiar with the LEGO 2 movies then this will make sense. There is an amazing Product Animation on YouTube that shows you what this does when its built-it's phenomenal but you will also appreciate how many small parts are (and how many small things need to be built!) in this huge set. Definitley worth watchingthe Product Animation before purchase as it is spot on.This is an expensive set but it takes hours to build.

I realise that this is tied into the Lego movie, so has to look like the spaceship it is replicating but it isn't the most exciting piece to look at or play with afterwards.It is an enormous project though and a lot of small, fiddly pieces. It will either entertain massively or frustrate beyond belief - a definite Marmite toy!The instructions are very good, as ever - just don't forget that there is an un-numbered bag that contains some of the larger parts, which are required throughout. If I recall correctly, step 74 had me hunting in the numbered bag for the part that was actually in this 'large parts'

This set has 13 separate bags of pieces, one for the figures and small accessories the remainder for that large Rexcelsior spaceship, which is part of the range which ties into the Lego Movie 2. There’s lots of very small pieces, particularly at the end of the build and patience is required when putting it all together so I’d say the age group of 10+ is appropriate. The spaceship is incredibly detailed and the manual runs to 270 pages, so this is for the dedicated Lego enthusiast. When fully completed, this is a toy rather than something to put on a shelf and admire in my opinion. There’s all sorts of working parts, from doors to a missile launcher, and all the accessories have a place inside,

My child especially my oldest is a big fan of Lego and loves to work on it on his own most of the time in fact getting a little cross if anyone tries to help. This is a bit different though and has involved all the family which is a great thing to put this together. Its every bit a display piece once its finished it does take a fair bit but we have learned the trick is to keep the box and if taking a break make sure all the pieces go back in the box until starting again. The quality is the usual excellent Lego standard I really cant think of anything to fault with this.

Loving this ... there's no indications on the box as to how many bits are in this Lego kit but it's huge. It says it's for 10+ age group and it definitely is. This will keep you little Lego engineer busy all day if not days !! It's a kit from the Lego 2 Movie and has all sorts of goodies from the movie like mini dinosaurs, and figurines and space ships etc. If you like Lego you'll love this !!!

This was very impressive but then at the current you would expect that. it wasn't too hard or fiddly to build. All of the components were there. It looks the same as in the photos. Obviously some might prefer just using their own imaginations but for fans on the Lego movie this should be a well received present.

This set is huge!! My husband took almost a day and a half to build it. It's a very heavy model. Very fiddly model, idea play for smaller hands.

Wonderful Christmas gift for my son.Fabulous piece of Lego!
