The Ship: enjoyed building and I love the look of this ship. I like the brown and beige patterning on the wings. Sooo much better (and more fun) than some ready-made shop bought models of the ship. Flick missiles are revealed in openings on the side of each wing. The cockpit slides back with a satisfying 'click' into place. Although the cockpit is a bit on the stingy side (you have to take off the spare arms to fit Grievous in it). We find the ship fairly robust to play with. It has had a couple of mishaps and rebuilds, but really I think that on those occasions General Grievious' might have been pushing his ship a little bit too hard, not to mention landing 'too hot' on the carpet. We find the little exhaust outlets on the side of the wing are the bits that tend to come off easily, so keep an eye on those. We did make one modification - we added one tiny brick to hold the tail together, (it comes down to balance the ship when it lands), as it kept falling off and now ... no 'falling off' worries.Mini-figures: The Grievous mini-figure is not the best that we have had played with, it is not very durable (hence the 4 stars). The head is particularly troublesome, because of the weight & leverage involved. The head & 4 arms all clip onto the body using the same clip system as battle droids. But whereas battle droids come with a number of spares, the General Grievious mini-figure doesnt (the arms are a unique design & colouring) and lego wont let you buy the spare parts for star wars mini-figures in pick a brick. All attachments of our mini-figure have developed cracks in them and no longer grip the body (we had him 6 months of playing time - max). We have super glued General Grievous' head onto his body, so our boy can continue to play with it, and replaced his arms with ordinary battle droid arms. The General looks cool though, it is a big improvement on the look of the old lego Grievous. It comes with 4 lightsabers - 2x yellow 2x blue, in a weapons rack with a blaster and Grievious chair. The build for the Grievous' A4-D repair droid is a bit fiddly, he is not stable unless standing on a base board - but we quite like him. This set also comes with padawan Naddar Vebb - no worries about durability there and quite like the look of the head which is solid rather than the rubber head of Kit Fisto. (Naddar also doubles as 'General Ackbarr' in our Star Wars games).Overall: Loved the look of this ship and we find it holds together fine for swooshing, unless it is actually dropped, in which case the wings are the bit that comes off. Just a little disappointed with the life span of the key mini-figure.

Got this for my son (6 & a bit) for christmas. He absolutely loved it and built it in about 2hrs with out wanting any assistance from his dad.... A few minor mistakes made on the way but the satisfaction on his face when he sorted them out was immense. General Grievous is spot on; great detail formed on the figure especially for the body & head parts. Another thing which is great is the level of detail provided by the actual lego parts such as the engine vents, secret weapon ports, the sliding cockpit canopy (this also has a very neat feature to lock it in place). Unfortunately as others have said lego star wars sets can be (are) expensive. This one is at the current price of £84 which is really big a shame because it's a great kit and highly recommended. Luckily we shopped around and got it locally for much less.

Quick delivery and well packaged. My son couldn't wait to start building and was really happy with it's final look. He's a 'master builder' when it comes to lego and though only 8 (present for his 8th birthday) took no time to build it and needed no help. But then he never does, even on Lego Star Wars items designed for children much older than he is! It's a case of open the box, settle down and do not leave the item till built. The General Grievous Startfighter has now joined others in his lego Star Wars collection.

Purchased for my Nephew (8 years old), his choice.Box looked massive but contents were fairly frugal. Could have fitted in a box half the size - having said that it took him a good three hours to build (some bits were left over but apparently that's normal)and he seemed to enjoy it. He seemed very impressed - I felt that for the money it was pretty small and lacking in features. Trying to steer him away from "Character" Lego now and more towards Technics as I feel you get better value for money.

I bought this for my son for christmas, he has been collecting star wars lego and i thought this would be great to add to his collection, the box is much bigger than the item once it is put together (which i did on christmas day and i find very relaxing putting lego together) my son was over the moon with the end result, myself i find the lego star wars rather expensive for what it is but thats brands for you, my son was pleased and that is all that matters.

The looks is very good and visually pleasing. Generally, the quality of Lego products is excellent. The blocks are very durable and they are not easily damaged, scratched and don't lose color. Instructions are good and there are no missing components. The construction process is very educational for at least younger children. It teaches motor and visual skills, geometry, shaping of spatial objects and numbers - much better than many ready-made toys.

My 9 year old boy thinks this is great fun, especially when used to fight against another Lego star wars ship. The characters are good, especially the one with 4 light sabers, and with a giant missile. There are also hidden missiles. Thank you Denmark and George Lucas, you've made us happy once more.

This was opened, assembled with ease, and played with in record time!As with all Lego products, the intruction book was very clear. My son has had enormous pleasure from this product.Lego is always a great success - it takes you as far as yourimagination allows!

Great fun lego always goes down a treat. Smaller parts can come off easily so worth while keeping out of reach of younger hands! 9 year old really enjoyed making this piece up although did need little adult help. Great purchase, bit more expensive but worth it

Bought this for my son to do on a wet day in the holidsys. As soon as the box arrived he wanted to assemble the star fighter. He 'absolutely loves' this and is now looking forward to playing with it with his friends.

I bought this for my 8 yr old son for Christmas 2011. We like it and its a good model. In his words..."I wouldn't give it five out of five because the guns fall of quite easily."
