I wasn't expecting too much from this set as the pictures of the model don't look terribly exciting with an explicit lack of detail on the interior. However, don't be fooled! Although it is a little bit of a laborious build with a heck of a lot of grey bricks and plates to wade through, there is plenty of pleasing detail to be had and it's a good sized final model to boot. The outside of the Star Destroyer is a decent reproduction of the ship from the movies. The scale is all over the place, but at the end of the day it's a toy and at least in its final size it's shelf-friendly. The interior features a relatively faithful version of the crew pits in the destroyer's bridge, plus an area for Snoke,an interrogation droid (I presume) and stormtrooper hangar. There are also firing launchers on top of the ship and a very clever carry handle built-in to make the completed model more portable (I've come across this before on the Republic Gunship from a few year's back, it's very handy). The included minifigures are a little disappointing with the exception of Supreme Leader Snoke, who makes his first appearance in LEGO form and is therefore quite exclusive for the time being. The officer and pilot figures are quite nice if unexceptional, and there are two stormtroopers. If you are any kind of LEGO Star Wars collector you will already have a number of these and so they are nothing to get too excited about. I would say there has been a missed opportunity to feature some of Snoke's red-clad guards but I suspect they have deliberately been held back for a later set.Construction takes a few hours to work through the 1400+ pieces and is simple enough, although the constant grey (as mentioned previously) gets pretty monotonous. Although I went into this set with such low expectations, actually I really like it and with Amazon discounting it on a semi-regular basis, if you time it right you can get over £40 off the RRP. A very worthy addition to any First Order collection.

This is a really imposing Lego set, which consists of a huge 1416 bricks and is aimed at ages 9 – 14. The First Order Star Destroyer takes a few hours to build (it took my thirteen year old son most of Friday evening and Saturday morning) and is great as a model, but also has lots and lots of play value. The top has a retractable handle, so you can lift the ship with one hand and this is great to help fly it around the room and it looks impressive closed. To open this up you need to lift the bridge part up and then the sides open to reveal the inside. This includes various consoles, screens, a conference area and both stairs and a ‘turbo lift’ to reach Snoke’s chamber. There are a good array of mini figures included: Supreme Leader Snoke, a First Order Officer, a First Order Stormtrooper Sergeant, a First Order Stormtrooper and a First Order Shuttle Pilot, plus a BB-9E droid, plus a buildable Medical Droid figure, which does not seem to be listed on the box.You can pose the figures and leave them in the ship even when it is closed, which is good fun for children. Snoke needs to be pushed down a little – or rather laid back – but he can stay put and there is plenty of room to leave the other figures inside. This makes the ship not only fun to build (it is a fairly complex set, but the instructions are easy to follow and very detailed), but with a lot of play value. Very impressive and with good detail.

In the Star Wars universe Star Destroyers are a mile in length. If this Lego First Order Star Destroyer was built to scale with its mini figures it probably wouldn't even fit in most homes. The interior has space enough for all the included min figures and stickers are used to replicate computer consoles. There is a place for Snoke to sit and a clear plastic micro figure of Kylo Ren is included. There is a small handle which lifts up from the centre of the ship and this enables such a large build to be moved around easily. The interior is accessed by lifting the bridge section and opening the two sections of the ship. Mini figures include Snoke,BB-9E and two pilots and two troopers. The biggest and most obvious criticism of this type of set is the scale. There are too many huge Star Wars vehicles which are miniaturised in Lego and look ridiculous next to their mini figures. This ship would look better with a range of micro figures but Star Wars fans and collectors may want this set in their collection.

My son (aged 11) loves this huge Lego set. It took him three evenings after school to build, and he really enjoyed the build even though it was a bit challenging at times (the set is quite technical). The whole ship flips open to show the inner workings, and there is a handle that you can use to fly it whilst holding it with one finger (originally I thought the handle was to flip open the spaceship, but after looking at some videos online I found out that it was just a handle, not a switch). You get 5 mini figures and a black BB8 (can't remember the name), and also a really cool 'hologram' of a hooded figure - my son thinks that it's Kylo Ren, but we'll have to wait for the film to find out.Currently, my son has put a load of other mini figures in the ship to populate it as there are lots of control panels and seats inside. The Destroyer is a really big, really cool ship to build, and after the long building time there is also long playability too. Brilliant as a present, or even to buy for yourself.

This is an amazing set. With around 1,400 pieces, it is a monster build which kept my 8 year old son occupied for several lengthy building sessions over quite a few days. It looks quite intimidating when bagged up - a sea of military grey - and can get a bit monotonous at times, but when finished there are lots of clever details and stickers which add to the decorative finish. The hull of the Destroyer opens down a split in the middle to reveal its interior, which offers a good play space with plenty of room for Snoke, a few stormtroopers and a couple of officers. It is easy to play in this area and with a vivid imagination to act out the goings-on on board the Destroyer. It is also then quite easy to close the hull, and lift the Destroyer with the built in hook so that it appears to be moving through space. It has proven to be an excellent toy, throughout the nicely challenging build process and as a permanent feature in my son's playroom.

This is a monster new spaceship released by Lego ahead of the new Star Wars coming out later in 2017. It's a large grey battleship with wings that fold out to reveal a large internal cockpit with all sorts of weapons and smart features. It is a big set (which is reflected in the price) and comes with over 1,400 pieces so should keep even the most experienced Lego builder quiet for a few hours - in terms of scale, it's fairly similar to the Millennium Falcon. The set includes 6 figures (a couple of First Order Stormtroopers, a First Order Pilot, First Order Officer, Supreme Leader Snoke and a BB-9E droid). It's a big outlay but personally I think you get much better value for money by buying a big kit rather than 2 or 3 smaller ones, plus if you keep the box, the instructions and all of the pieces, this will be re-saleable in years to come once your child has grown out of Lego.

It's huge. It took me a good week or so in my spare time to put together. So many bags. Another mega vehicle in the Star Wars Lego collection - you'd be forgiven for thinking that Star Wars was invented by Lego.Last year I built the Millennium Falcon so I was up to the challenge of this and it was worth it. Anyway, once assembled...and after locating the place where I was a bit sleepy putting the wrong part in the wrong place (like a few Lego dots out, arghh), this thing is awesome: the First Order Star Destroyer. Very cool. Lots of Star Wars grey, a good selection of mini-figures and the ability to open it up and see the characters at 'work'. Green laser 'dots'to fire at the enemy and cool little mini hologram inside.Almost too good to play with (it's quite expensive at around £130) but too good not too. Keep the Kragl away!

My first venture into Lego Star Wars and it was pretty awesome.I'm a lifelong fan of Lego but it's been pretty irritating the last few years that the only space stuff they have made is the Star Wars line. Now don't get me wrong I love Star Wars but the own brand ones have always been more fun and you got a lot more for your money. Not going to lie this is an expensive kit, but it is a huge chunk of Lego once built and is not light at all. I always had two kits sat on my coffee table but this one is so big it's the only one on there now.I'm pretty quick with building, I did Poe's X-wing in about an hour and fifteen minutes but this kept me going for best part of six hours. If you gave it to a child you probably wouldn't hear anything from them till boxing day. Sounds like the best use of £93 imaginable to me.

To sum up such a big set in a short review:It's good. Not great, but good. Lots of stickers used for detail. Structurally very sound and an interesting build, could possibly go so far as to say an exciting build.Interior design is average, though with the space given I think a good job was done.I like, for the first time, the use of stud shooters, as they give the ship a better-scaled look, as does the negative spacing in gaps between plates. It's a set that does the destroyers from the new trilogy justice. Comes with a very good variety of minifigures, including Snoke and a hologram mini-minifigure piece.I only paid 99.99 for this set and wouldn't pay more personally, but am glad to have it in my collection.

Truly awesome model. Took a year old about a day with breaks in-between. It is large but very impressive. The best part is that it has the Supreme Leader Snoke minifigure. Considering his part in the movie is brief. I expect the minifigure to be a rare piece. My son really enjoyed building it and it looks great.A definite showpiece, does look better in real life than the pictures. Impressive when put besides other Star Wars Lego pieces. A definite buy in my view and expect the minifigures to worth allot for collectors.

This took me a couple of days to build in my spare time. I built it with my son (6) and we took turns taking turns a double page of the instructions each.We both throughly enjoyed the build but despite the generous interior space it's size makes it more of a display model. My son, who loves Star Wars, hasn't been too interested in playing with it as there are limited action features. It looks amazing once it is built, an obvious lego model with enough texture and detail to be very pleasing to the eye.

I bought this for my 9 year old son for Christmas and he loves it. As stated on the box it was a little advanced for him to make by himself and I had to step in after a while, more due to boredom (as you would expect). The kit took a few hours to complete but is quite robust and even has a handy carry handle. Be careful as there are quite a few firing pieces that can easily get lost.Overall a great model to add to any collection.

My son spend all Christmas Dsy building this. There are many pieces and he did require some adult guidance occasionally but did well to assemble it himself as he is 8 years old.Once made, there are a few pieces on the under belly of the Star Destroyer they do come off easily. The protruding part that allows you to carry the Star Destroyer from abover is great and allows for easy transportation.

Great set. Amazon Warehouse Deals said set was "opened/used" hence I bought it at a discounted price. Having purchased from Amazon Warehouse Deals before, items aren't as bad as they sound. The box seals where open but everything inside was unused/in sealed cellophane bags. Everything complete. The outer box had been carefully cellotaped shut.I look forward to building it soon.

As with most Lego sets, this one is better to build than to look at photos of.It looks so intimidating when sitting along with the rest of my collection. The original price is too much for it but it feels better when getting it for less than £100.The opening feature is a good touch but you need plenty of room to open both sides.Wonderful detail outside AND inside.
