As said in another review this looks good and is big. it isn't until it is built you figure out if you want to display it then you may have problems. i have put mine on top of my bookcase however the wheels are only half on. i suggest before buying check the dimensions. Also the box is designed as a working area with no holes so that the bits can be put in it. the box however is huge and can quite easily take over a desk.the model in total took me 12 hours straight.for younger people say of 16 then this will be longer and for anyone younger say 14 the model will just be too big and take to long to complete to hold there attention. the model is made in 4 sections, chassis nose engine tail engine cover.you could build this by splitting the sections down into manageable chunks if you have kids to keep them happy. the biggest is the chassis that took 8 hours if that helps. there is also a mistake in the instructions to do with one of the ball joints.id recommend this model at the sale price as it is excellent. As for educational value then the model is well engineered.the best part for education is the engine, it is a V10 and shows the pistons working. this runs of a slip differential gearing system that is driven from the rear wheals(very nifty peace of engineering).i think that this model could be used as a good father son bonding session piece for children that are say 9 or 10(i use to do this kind of stuff with my dad). if your a big kid with a big bank balance then it is also good fun.All in all a great piece of kit.if you get this then a good tip is to get a pint glass with a large opening in it .then open all the fiddly bits into it. you'll also find you get two bags of black pegs. one can be left till you have used the other. this should means you don't loose em and can rummage around and find the one you want. Also use the box for the rest.

An incredible product! This was bought for my fourteen year old son and he absolutely loved building it. He is mainly fascinated by how all twelve of the pistons in the engine moved correspondingly, while the back wheels turned. And the steering mechanism actually worked perfectly.Having said that i do agree with another review in that the product is only suitable for teens and up. An incredible collectors item, but very time consuming to build.Worth every oenny, 5 star lego.

Having recently bought two Lego motorised bulldozers and a Lego mobile crane as Xmas & Birthday presents for my children I decided it would be wise to reacquaint myself with Lego building in preparation for Xmas day.So I purchased one of these kits and was thoroughly enthralled from start to finish.A fantastic but very large model, sad thing is its now finished!Highly Recommended.

I purchased this with a little doubt about how good it would look. I should not have worried after 4 days of fun building it it looks great. However it is LARGE so make sure that you have a good place to store it.
