Even though I am not familiar with the Ninjago TV series, I still had to get this set. I am a big fan of building sets and even though this one specifically is aimed at younger audiences (as can be seen per the action elements of the set), folks looking for simply a better display set will be satisfied. The monastery is not perfect, let us get that clear right now, but I do not regret my purchase one bit.Let us start with the highlightsOverall build – the combination of red-white walls together with the black rooftops and golden decorations go together very well and create a rather harmonic sight. The combination is also reminiscent of various traditional building in the far east.I also appreciate the variation and number of details the designers were able to put into the set – the lamps, sakura tree, complex gate…Bricks used – the set includes not only a variety of traditional smaller bricks and decorative elements, but a surprisingly high amount of larger bricks, such as brick number 6074910 (10 times) and brick number 245401 (17 times!!!). A bit off topic, but I always appreciate when a set is made up not only from solely small or solely large bricks, but is a combination of both. Especially for LEGO fans, that with to use the bricks to build something else from the set.Minifigs – Detailed printing not only on the torso, but the legs as well, two faces, I can not complain. What I really like is the fact, that apparently the set contains all the main Ninjas.Action elements – personally, I use the set solely for display purposes, but the set does include plenty of playability – to play with your kids, nieces and nephews… from a rotating wall to a flying chicken. What I do not like at allStickers – I am not a big fan of stickers, and even though this particular set does not contain many, I always prefer bricks with printing. And I am saying this even though the stickers LEGO delivers with their sets are of very high quality. Some food for thoughtAs mentioned earlier, stickers. Also, additional walls between the front part and back part would have been great, to create a nice circular arena. Now when I want to connect the front and back parts, the monastery looks like an oval with just a small yard from above. Last, but not least, some additional foliage would have been nice. The sakura tree may is a great addition to the set and the set could have included more of that.Overall impressionThe LEGO set 70670 Monastery of Spinjitzu is a great set for not only Ninjago fans. It includes many elements interesting not only to younger LEGO fans, but older ones as well. It is very nice as a display set and personally, I may just get the 80105 Chinese New Year Temple Fair set, just because of this one, even though they are of different sub-themes.

My son loves Lego especially when it has got to do with things he likes so when this came up he was over moon.I looked at the price and thought wow whose got money like that to spend on Lego but after building it I can see why people spend this kind of money. This is a model of the Legacy Monastery of Spinjitzu it has approx 1070 pieces and the recommended age is 9+, I’m 33 and thought some of the bits were a little hard - You get 8 bags with certain bits and a instruction booklet with pictures, if you follow it step by step you won’t go wrong but I would say take your time as one mistake could mean going back on what you already done. There are so many items /functions within this Lego set - it comes with the full set of 8 mini figures, stud shooters, opening cockpits, automatic items, weapons and much more. The monastery of spinjitzu comes with a tea room, hidden knife, chicken traps, sword spinning, fruit cutting and the list just goes on and on.It measures over 11 Inch (29 cm) high, 12 Inch (32 cm) wide and 8 Inch (21 cm) deep when closed (from description)This took many hours to build and a lot tea breaks - my son helped but after a while it just got all to much for him so mummy came to the rescue and finished it for him.I have warned him to keep it out of the way of the little ones as it took ages to build plus there are many small parts to be careful of.He has had Many hours of fun playing with it and have asked if we could get the other parts of the Lego NINJAGO legacy.

The original interpretation of the monastery in 2011 was a wall with a door in the center with a few kinetic play features but after 7(8) years we got a full enclosed build to represent the monastery! The build on it's own is pretty slim with the center back of the build being built on a six wide plate and the two sections to the left and right of it being built on 4 wide plates. The representation of the roofing is done with nice detail all around and the center gate is built nicely. The minifigures in this set are nothing exclusive since all the ninja and Wu come in the spinners and cheaper sets in general and Wyplash is a mix of the pieces used for Nuckal and Kruncha in 70665 with a rice hat.So if you plan on buying over sets from this wave this isn't one you buy for the figures. The play features are interesting with one of them using new gear pieces for 2019 and two others relying on using the two "ninja battle platforms" included with the set.If these features aren't for you if you have some spare pieces around they should be easy to remove as I did.Overall this was a set that was worth the wait and I can't wait to see what other structures LEGO will be introducing in the upcoming Ninjago waves.

This item arrived safe and well packaged.I love this LEGO set!Myself and my boy are huge LEGO fans. We both enjoy watching the Ninjago animated series too. This new Legacy range brings new characters and weapons. This set is a lovely large set. It's enough to keep a good builder busy for a good few hours!! So many great little details to build within the Monastery alongside all the little training features for the Minifigures. This set is a fantastic playset for several reasons - there are many Minifigures included especially some of the more sort after characters in special outfits. The figures have so many ways of interacting with the builds too. It also creates a very nice walled play space within the Monastery, leaving plenty of space for the imaginative child to play for hours and hours!Great job LEGO designers!I highly recommend this product.

I love this Lego set and it's great for actually playing with!If you've ever looked at things like the big Ninjago dragons or some of the Star Wars Lego sets you'll see that a lot of them are a bit boring and you can't do a lot with them. My two sons are obsessed with Lego and I'm fine with that, they enjoy it. But when you're spending over £100 on a big grey spaceship that they'll build, play with a couple of times, and then stick on a shelf, it does get a little frustrating. This Ninjago set isn't like that. It's around £80 most of the time, give or take various sales, and you get a lot for your money. The set has lots of little bits to play with and has a lot of intricate moving parts that will keep any young Lego fan entertained for hours on end.

This set is well built, The play features are decent too. At first, I didn't think it was worth the money but having it on my shelf I can see that it's pretty good for the money. I like the addition of the cherry blossom on the side, the mini figures are good too, though I find the skeleton's face a bit weird but that might just be me. The set looks good and had a good building experience too.I do not like that the fruits on the training grounds are so delicate, I feel like they could've been made a bit stronger because they fall off too easily. Also, I would've liked to have gotten maybe one more skeleton or a side build for the skulkins but maybe I'm asking for too much?Overall, good set, decent value and mini figures, I'd rate 7/10 for this.

Usual LEGO quality (i.e. you get what you pay for)Instructions are clear & easy to follow. Our youngest son has not stopped playing with this since he got it and its so nice to see kids using their imagination while playing (and helping to build as well) instead of watching TV or playing a console game. The Monastery is physically smaller than i expected and for the price could have been slightly larger. But that is the only negative comment i have. The spinning ninjas are a GREAT idea and to my surprise work flawlessly and very smoothly.Overall, i highly recommend this items for 6 year old+ as long as you have the patience to build alongside your child and don't mind 8 seperate bags of legopieces to contend with.

My 8 year old daughter is a big Ninjago fan and this set made the ideal Christmas present. It’s a large set that includes all the main ninja characters and some villains too. It’s good value because you don’t have to buy individual characters separately. The pieces are well packed in separate bags with a fantastic instruction book that is incredibly easy to follow. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily the various sections fit together and was able to build it in very little time. One surprising feature is the spinning function which allows the Lego fan to recreate a Spinjitzu battle with a simple mechanism.Overall I would recommend this set to any Ninjago fan as it is a quality set that you expect from Lego.

This set went down incredibly well with my martial arts and Lego loving 6 year old. Despite the fact that she hasn't seen any of the TV shows she absolutely loves the set.It took her a good few hours to build (with a little help at times) and it has been extensively played with since completion. She has created many battle scenes and combined it with her other sets to play elaborate games.I will be buying more Ninjago sets to add to this one as I feel it has great play value and longevity.

This is a superb set from Lego.Part of the Ninjago range and really the first piece from that range my son has had but he loves it.It comes in a large box and as per all lego the instructions are clear and the bags marked for easy assembly. It took a bit of time but we got there and my son enjoyed being involved in the build.I picked up a large base plate to host it all on which helps. My son is happy playing a Ninjago, star wars and marvel mashup!

It's Ninjago and it's a Monastery. Classic Ninjago build. Plenty of mini-figures to play with. The Monastery is pretty detailed and colourful. This is a slightly more tricky build with all the parts. However, it isn't difficult. The instructions are good and as long as you follow the details carefully, you won't need to backtrack much.An ideal set for Ninjago fans and looks great on any display unit.Overall, a great build.

I’ve been wanting this set for a long time since it came out but I’ve never really had the money to buy these big lego sets but when I got the chance to buy this one I ordered it immediately but it said “backorder” and it still hasn’t came yet it still says “backordered” but when it does get here (hopefully soon) I can’t wait to build it and from the pictures I’ve seen this set looks amazing:)

It arrived on time, well packaged and although it was for my 6 year old, all the family have loved helping him to build and play with it over the christmas period. There are some well engineered traps and it's really good value. I didn't realise it was season 1. But I am not sure which season is best to buy for. Depends what type of Lord Garmadon your Ninjago fan likes?

I had to help my son build this as there was so much! It was a lot bigger than I expected it to be. You build each piece in sections and then connect them to each other - I loved all the little secrets and moving parts. I am not looking forward to this getting broken up and being asked to rebuild it, however! Well worth the money.

Really excellent Lego kit. Looks impressive when assembled and my son has not stopped playing with it. He needed help with the build so it was a little bit ambitious for the age group it is advertised for but I enjoy building Lego and it is fun to do together. I also got this at a discounted price so it was good value for money
