Since the beginning, the Destiny's Bounty captured my interest with its design and features. This is my favorite Bounty of the ones I have had (all excluding the Movie Bounty). This has an excellent brick-built hull, which has been built up more-so than the traditional first two Bountys and allows for an interior. The interior space is nothing to boast about, but it has some clips on the interior and space for at least four minifigures. The anchors are a great brick-built design, able to lower a good ways below the hull with chains that store on the deck relatively unobtrusively. The figurehead is also brick-build, and feels very complete and sturdy. The ram on the front is small and simple,but a nice addition and throwback to what we all knew the Destiny's Bounty to be. Deck space is pretty good, even with two sections and a cannon occupying the center of one of them, and the mechanism for the sails in the other. The sails are made of the great tough-cloth material, and the frame holding them on is very well constructed (and hidden, even in flight mode!), and extends and retracts nicely, while also holding its place in the extended flight mode. The rear structure is nicely constructed, utilizing the roof section for a weapons rack, and when removed, the walls fold out into a dojo-esq area, with some scrolls and weapon racks as well. The interior space on the rear is nothing to brag about, but does not cause an issue when it is in place on the ship, as the figures and space inside is well hidden! The rudder on the ship is small and on a ball joint, but overall does a good job at doing what it needs to. The Side of the hull has the gun ports built into it, and although they don't open, they make a good design. And finally: the flying mechanism. Always abscent from the Bounty line, the Legacy Bounty finally gives it the addition it has always needed. A simple design, by rotating either of the fins on the back, the front jets pop out, giving a great look to the bounty which has previously looked lopsided with where the engines have been. This mechanism always works smoothly for me, and is very fun to utilize in play or display. Overall, the Destiny's Bounty might be a throwback, but is one of the best designs for a Bounty we have ever seen, with plenty of fun features used in the construction, as well as the final build.

Although I have purchased quite a few of the Ninjago sets because I really like the look of a lot of them. I have never watched the Ninjago series so the actual characters and their stories are a mystery to me but many of these kits just look so aesthetically pleasing to me that I had to grab them. So, finally got around to building my first one and thought I might as well start with the biggest one I own - go big or go home am I right!This would have probably been a 5 star review as the completed ship does look really good and it has a decent amount of play value with a lot of mini figures included. However,it is a little fragile feeling in places and I am not sure how well it would stand up to being played with properly.One of my other problems with the set is the placement of the black half circles on the "bridge" area of the ship. It is a technique I have used previously but for some reason I just cannot get them to sit securely when fitting as per the instructions. I am going to have to modify them a little bit as I hate the way they just don't sit flush the way they should. Connecting the winged pieces at the rear of the ship is also far more fiddly than it needs to be and I know they are supposed to be posable but they just feel loose and like they will pop back off if you play with them too much.On the upside the sails look great when in place and the mechanism to flap them is really clever. The little bridge house easily pops on and off as it is fitted like the levels on a modular building. Even better it opens out flat so you can use it as a little playset. I do love the dragon head figurehead for the ship too, looks a lot better in real life than it does on the pack images.Overall, well worth the price and well worth the time spent building it. Looks great on the shelf and no doubt it will look even better when I have got around to building some more of the series.Number Of Pieces: 1781Approximate Price Per Piece: £0.07Build Time: 6 Hours

This set was my first destiny's bounty, and it is probably the best set I have purchased in a long time. it isn't a perfect model of the season 1 destiny's bounty, but I wouldn't have expected it to be. starting at the bow of the ship, the dragon's head is completely brick built, and looks good. The anchor winch is good, but the chains should be longer. The sail-raising function works great and looks very elegant, and it doesn't take up very much room to make it work. There is a below deck storage room that has a training dummy and some extra cannonballs for the cannon above it. I took out the extra cannonballs and put in the extra silver shurikens. The control bridge has what looks like some sort of radar off to the side,and a steering wheel. the enclosed area of the bridge has a training dojo that comes off with several weapons. The roof has a small container for the silver shurikens and some katanas or other swords. The flags are good, and they have stickers on them for detail. the engine pods don't have the hinging part like in the show, but that can be fixed with a little modification. the pods fold down for takeoff, and when they do, smaller stabilizer engines slide out at the front. they don't rotate up and down though. The pods also don't fold down far enough to be screen accurate, but again, that can be fixed.there is a balcony on the stern, but it's too small for any of the figures to fit back there. as for the minifigures, all of them are excellent. I love the new legacy suits with the golden dragons. samurai x's helmet attachment comes off kind of easily though. Master Wu's kimono is very elegant, and the dragon on his back goes well with the legacy suits. Lloyd is a good figure with a design that hasn't been done in a while, but I would have prefered having a young Lloyd in his legacy suit instead. All in all, this is an amazing set, and I hope that they do more of these in the future.

My sons are obsessed with Lego just now, so pooled their resource and got the Destiny's Bounty.This is a "legacy" set, a new version of the season 1 Destiny's Bounty. The brick count is a bit less than the one that was released with the Ninjago film, but at over 1700 pieces, it's still a very chunky build.The build is fun and interesting. There are only a few bits that are challenging and needed a wee bit of extra help, but in general it was a good, layered build, even building the base hull of the ship was quite interesting, you can see from the pictures that the first level of the ship has lots of different sections and detail.There is a nice little hold section which gets a grate put over it,and the cabin is a nice section. It's small but easy to detach and open out.There are lots of nice details - the dragon head at the front of the is nicely constructed, and the cabin roof and surround is very good.There are lots of good playable features. The anchors at the front with the winch are good, and the moveable sails are a nice feature.There is an excellent area of mini figs - 7 in total, in particular I was impressed with the array of golden weapons, more than enough to share out amongs the 7 figures plus any other figures you already have.It's an excellent set, but the main downside that makes it a 4 star set rather than 5 is that it is fairly fragile for active play. In particular the railings road the ship have various pieces that are only stuck on with 1 or 2 studs, and fall off at the drop of a hat. The dragons head also seems to be prone to breaking, without much force it can easily end up in pieces, and can often be non-intuitive to put back together, so have had to step back to the instructions a couple of times.In summary, a great Lego kit. Fairly expensive, but there is a lot of building out of it, as well as a lot of play, could just do with being a bit more robust.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is a big fan of Lego like most of the kids (and adults alike). This build was one of our biggest Lego sets and I must say that it was fun to build it. Here is our detailed review of the product:1. It took us close to 5 hours to build the set. I guess we took a bit more time as we wanted to make sure that we don't miss out on anything important so that we need to revisit it later.2. The set comes with all the pieces well labeled and the instruction booklet was very easy to follow.3. The thing what astonishes you is the level of detail which goes into making the lego set. I recall that there was a part which we built wasn't a huge one but it was so detailed that it took close to 60+ pieces to make it.4. It has got some moving parts and they add a lot of fun factor to the end product like the sails, the cannons etc. 5. It does come with lot of mini figures and my personal opinion is that a mini figure brings a life into a set, make it more human like. Room for Improvement: One thing which I would like Lego company to think over it (a very humble suggestion) that when we build something like a room which has some parts inside it, to a naked eye, the details inside the room like furniture etc are totally hidden and unless someone opens them by removing few brick, it doesn't add much to the detailing. I am not saying that don't go for the detail but can we have some transparent bricks which will give an idea of what's inside that room without the need to remove the bricks and see inside.Overall, a great set with lots of detailing and fun to build as well as play with. Highly recommended to a true Lego fan !!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All I can say about this lego set is WOW. First of all, this set is going to require quite a bit of time to build so make sure you make the time for it. This set is 1781 pieces, and most of them are tiny pieces. The first thing I really noticed about this lego set is how well built the pieces are. Yes, they are plastic, but they are hard and durable. This is nice because my kids can be hard on lego sets and so far, we haven't had any issues.Another thing I appreciate about this set is how easy the instructions are to follow. The instructions are step by step, and they are good at letting you know what pieces you need for each step too.This makes it a lot easier to get it built. The set comes with a few extra pieces too, so if you lose one, you have another to use.The biggest thing I have enjoyed about this set, is how detailed it is. It looks really fancy when it's all put together. And, it's huge. It is a big, big ship. I love that they made it look like an old time ship too. It really adds to the kids' imagination. It's really cool that it's based off of a TV series too. My kids love it. All in all, this lego set is my favorite set that I have. It's so detailed and fun to build, even though it takes a while to build it. I highly recommend this set to everyone. It's great for kids and adults. Give it a shot, you are going to love it.

I got this piece since I thought it would go well next to the movie Bounty... I thought that set couldn't be topped but side by side I feel this newer bounty makes better use of it's parts, space, playability, better minifigs and a more balanced design.The play features which work well also give it added display variety.In terms of negatives the captains cabin - sparse without the walls, cramped with them and the modular roof is a pain to line up and clamp on.It's definitely the most refined bounty and a solid recommendation for anyone who likes ships.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son literally jumped and down when he saw this set. He’s autistic but is a master with LEGO sets. We have bought him so many sets but this one is his absolute favorite. This caught all of his attention for several hours. After he made the set we all admired his hard work. Days later he dissembled it and started making his own creations. The pieces fit perfectly together. The sections were all separated into bags which helped getting the set built without frustration. This set is absolutely amazing!!

My son loves to build things but is having a hard time to do this project by himself and he’s 10 years old. So with moms help we were able to complete the destiny bounty .... it was so fun to help build and can’t wait to see him start a new project of LEGO. But this was definitely a great new and exciting large project that we can say we did together with some outside help from his sister and me too

Contains 7 figures and over 1700 pieces which make it challenging. The instructions are understandable the separated numbered bags means you don’t have to search through all the pieces to find the one you want. Once built there are so many moveable parts eg. when the tail fins are pushed down they open up gun barrels at the front sides of the boat there are so many different moving play options for this item, kids and adults can have hours of fun playing with this as once it is built.

WOW, what a great lego set. 14 individual bags and 1 instruction book. No complicated parts to put together and the end result is impressive. It took my 13yr old son approximately 2 days to complete and the moving parts and hidden dojo are an added bonus to the ship. 7 mini figures are included and the attention to detail is identical to the TV series. We are now in the process of obtaining more ninjago sets to add to his collection. Would recommend this to all lego and ninjago fans.

This is the first Lego ninjago set I’ve have built. What great fun it was to build. It’s taken a good few hours to build. There are a few fiddly bits but that’s the same with all Lego. It comes with 7 mini figures and there weapons. On the deck there a detachable room which unfolds to aTrainer room. The boat has moving sails, dropping anchor and rotating engines My 7 year old is going to have hours of fun playing with this ninjago set.

What a blast we had building this AWSOME piece.Fun was had from ages 7 to 39 we all chipped in and had hours of fun. This is a huge ship.Only downside is lego packets are numbered 1 to 14 and in the instruction manual there is no 11 to follow it's two 12's but they are the same build piece. Love all the moving parts once finished. Anchors move, mast moves the sails in and out, canon fires a Lego piece. Several mini figures included.

Looks great and will tick all the boxes of a Lego/Ninjago mad 5year old. I will add that it didn’t come in a covered box or paper bag and was left on show on the door mat. I’m all up for no added waste but A-not helpful at all for a Christmas gift for a child who can clearly see it. B-£84 worth of Lego on show for anyone to walk past and collect off the door step. Just a heads up for other buyers!!!!

When I first got this I looked at it with dread but once my daughter started building it, it was so much fun and I got to spend quality time with her building it. It does look daunting but honestly it's not that bad just a lot of pieces, and it looks amazing now we have completed it!! I would absolutely give this top marks and recommend to anyone. We can't wait to get another one to build together.
