The two little modular mini spaces- an art gallery and a shop- can be joined or separated at will. If only real-life relocation of business premises was that easy! They fit in quite neatly with other Lego Friends buildings and have what seems like a fairly standard selection of Lego Friends colours, bricks, accessories, and of course a little cat.Our seven-year-old daughter built this herself single-handedly in a little under an hour- not a brag, but an example of how it’s a very straightforward and un-challenging set to build. The only vaguely challenging bit at that level is the small cog system that turns the mini-minifigure in the art studio,but I wouldn’t go as far as to call that complicated.There were a small handful of bricks here we’d never owned already, but the only piece we’d never seen at all before (not even in a shop) in another Lego set was the ‘watercolour’ painting which reveals its picture when it gets wet. After initially struggling to get my daughter to even agree to put water on it- she’s so well trained that she didn’t want to get her Lego ‘dirty’ and wasn’t even curious what the picture would be- the result was a nice novelty, bordering on an anti-climax, essentially a slight twist on the Aquadoodle idea (which was a hit in our house but only when the kids were younger), and too small for careful water application which would make it a more creative or attention-holding activity.As a grown-up, the two spaces seem quite blocky and rather small- more like cells than casual spaces, weirdly-, as though you’re pointing out to kids how compact and uniform everything has to be to fit in, and in a way that’s more realistic yet it somehow seems to lack that ‘infinite space utopia’ that other sets have. If your kids will be combining this with other Lego Friends house sets to make a bigger area then this will help though.For the recommended retail of this set, I think they could’ve packed a little bit more in, and while there are a couple of nice new or new-ish details- the mini-minifigure and the water-based art revelation- but unfortunately I don’t think this set really stands out among the Lego Friends range.

What can anyone say about LEGO that hasn’t already been said? Not much, I would imagine but I’ll have a go.Part of the ‘Friends’ theme, it’s a two story building that comprises a first floor art studio with a ground floor art supplies shop, though it could be classed as three, what with the roof top café. And what enterprise doesn’t have a coffee shop in-situ nowadays? Emma and Andrea, alongside Chico the cat, occupy this prime retail space and there are plenty of pieces to get their business up and running. Whilst all LEGO is interactive, this set has the addition of being able to ‘paint’ the canvas with water to reveal something.As with all LEGO, this won’t be restricted to using just the pieces in the box.No, Sir. All manner of extras will be utilised from a plethora of bits and pieces. A Tyrannosaurus Rex has two ‘arms’, so why shouldn’t that be allowed in the art studio? And I’m sure space suited characters won’t be barred from serving in the shop. You won’t have a clue what’s going on, but the end user will and that’s what matters; it’s all about imagination.

This set comes with 235 pieces, 2 mini-dolls, 1 cat and 1 manual. The build results is a nice 2 storey building that fits in perfect with the rest of the Heartlake City range. colour changing art paper (using water but image of paw prints very faint), Downstairs is a small art shop which has a cash register, some paint pots, scissors, and drawn on (sticker) art supplies. Upstairs is a small studio which has a potters wheel/painting turntable which actually turns which is cool, easel (with colour changing art 'paper' that reveals the cat's paw prints when wet - Naughty Pussy!) and paint pots. On the roof is a tiny roof garden with table, parasol and seat. The building is a bit on the small side to be honest,but then most LEGO buildings are. It also comes with a paint brush and palette. Overall a nice colourful set, which was simple but fun to build. It also works with regular LEGO mini-figures with no tweaks. It would have been a 4/5 due to the smallness of the building, but I love cats so I'm going to give it full marks for including one, LOL!

My nephew's eight year old daughter has a huge collection of LEGO Friends Playset/Kits and was thrilled to be able to add this one to the mix. Emma's Art Studio Playset comes with all the pieces to build an art gallery selling paintings and art supplies, it also has studio space and a rooftop cafe.This set is great fun and has everything required for imaginative and interactive gameplay. Included in this set are Emma and Andrea mini doll figures, a cute cat, an easel, four paint pots, a sculptor's wheel that actually turns, a table with umbrella, a magic painting (add water and the image appears), artists palette, paintbrush, scissors, cash register, display sign,biscuit and cup.Recommended age for this LEGO set is six plus and my nephew's daughter managed to follow the comprehensive instructions (from the booklet) and build this without any help. The great thing about Friends LEGO is that all the sets work well with each other...meaning your child can create a complete world of LEGO.Recommended,

Our niece is a huge Lego fan and was really impressed with this Lego Friends Art Studio.For an experienced Lego builder, this won’t take a long time to build (less than an hour), however it is a really nice item for those who like to play with their Lego once it is built.There are two floors (an art shop and an art studio) plus a roof terrace and there are a couple of ‘Friends’ plus a cat. There is an addition of an easel that reveals a picture when wet as well as some other art equipment.The high quality is typical of the Lego Friends range and this art studio is a lovely addition to any Lego collection.

This set has a lot to it. It immediately appealed to my six year old daughter, who loves lego and all things arts and crafts, and after assembling it, she seemed to find plenty of playability in it - there are two floors plus roof-terrace, two girls, a cat, a few stickers (careful to stick them on the right side!) and ingenious things like an art easel with paper that produces cat footprints if you wet it slightly, and an artist's mannikin (or is that a sculpture?) which rotates on its plinth when you turn a knob, plus accessories like a paintbrush and scissors. Lots of fun!

Simply brilliant - a set to build in easy steps. You get pre-packaged sets for each of the steps, plus a glossy full colour instruction book. It is awesome!Perfect for little hands (age guide 5-9) and a great sense of achievement for when complete. We had so much fun making the models - and love breaking them up and remaking them over and over.Great LEGO value and fun.

Great set, building the set is very fast and easy to do so. The friends series is mostly aimed at younger girls but nothing to stop boys playing with this too. A suitable present for girls aged 4 thru 9 in my opinion. Bright, colourful and typical great Lego quality. Instructions to build the set are clear enough fo all ages.

Very nice toy set . Lego is always popular and this is from the lego friends range. I really like it - not to big and it is a shop which has a art shop downstairs and a art studio upstairs. There are various accessories and it's fun.Two characters are included which is great. Good quality and long lasting.

you get a good amount of lego for the money. I'm not a fan of the girlyfying of a toy that was perfectly good for any gender to begin with so it losses a star for that.

Granddaughter loved it for Birthday Present ~ Daddy assisted with some of the building because she's only 5, but really enjoys imaginative play with the figures.

Daughter loves this product. Bought as birthday gift. Personally I think it's a very small set for price but daughter is delighted
