We are big fans of these beautiful pink and lavender Lego Elves sets and got many of them, that is, our daughter. Personally I’m somewhat less impressed by the dragons in the series but the children (our chief Elf and her little brother) disagree, as they play with these quite extensively. And this set is if of particular interest as it includes an evil earth-dragon Ashwing and the goblin king, right up our youngest son’s alley who understandably likes the trolls and goblins most within the range. So we got him this set for his birthday and he was obviously delighted, as was his sister. As always with the Elf sets there is a lot of detail and colourful decoration. The dragon comes with a pink/red Jimblin troll and ‘exploding rock that reveals a hiding place for a little bear, after all the there are also 2 cute little bears (Blueberry the mummy bear and her child Lil Blu) that can be neatly locked up in the cage that is proved as well. The construction and assembly of the 339 piece set was not too demanding to the 5-year old builder, although I had to assist him a couple of times during the 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes it took him to complete the project. Although I must say I find the construction of Lego dragons a little tedious as you'll have to repeat the build of almost identical legs four times.. As always the instructions are very clear. The children greatly enjoyed playing with the set afterward. The completed dragon and accessories look very pleasing and are compeltly compatible with other Elves sets or any other Lego product. So to conclude; this is another great Elves set, albeit a very unique one given the colour and theme. All in the expected great Lego-quality. Too bad that the Elves line seems to be discontinued, for now, and that sets are getting scarce through regular channels. With a little imagination the line could have been taken much further.

This two legged dragon is simply beautiful, it's spiky, dominating design really makes it really stand out from the other elves sets. The soft baby-green main colour is a beautiful choice, however the red/pink underbelly feels a little mixed, as though they changed their mind halfway through designing it, as the bricks vary from red to dark pink with no apparent pattern. The bipedal nature of the Dragon does unfortunately make it harder to stand up than the four legged Dragons, however the very large size of it's legs and feet does make it more stable than I expected. The elegantly jointed wings can (sort of) be positioned as front legs for the dragon to rest upon, but this does make it appear as though it is leaning forward. The tail is beautifully designed, with it gradually shrinking in a much more realistic manner than some of the other dragons do. Size wise, it is a similar size to Zonya, the fire dragon, compared to the Marina the water dragon it is a few inches longer, with a much greater wingspan. The Dragon's saddle is styled to look like a wood, with ornamental bars for the Goblin to cling to in flight, and a mystical eye-shaped logo, which I presume is the crest of the Goblin King. The Goblin King minidoll is beautifully designed, although his cape has a tendency to move about a lot, and the little goblin is surprisingly cute, with articulated arms. The little rock piece is fairly similar to previous rock structures in other elves sets, there's nothing particularly striking about it. The crystal jumps off as if it's been blown up with a simple mechanism, and there is a space for the bears to sit, however no peg to hold the bear in place, causing her to fall off the rock every time I touch itDespite a few flaws, the fantastic size and design of the dragon means I very much love this set, and would recommend this to any Dragon lover, either adult or child.

339 puzzle pieces including mini dolls; Goblin King, Jimblin the Goblin, mother and baby bear Blubeary and Lil' Blu and the pieces to create Ashwing the Earth Dragon. The key component is definitely Ashwing a solidly built dragon with moving wings, claws that grip and a sturdy place for the Goblin King to sit when they're in flight. The other feature is a small crystal cave with a tiny space at the side for the bears who are only really in the set to give Ashwing something to catch and hold in his claws. There's a also a tiny device for sending a set of hidden set of crystals into the air. We have all of the dragon sets now and my grandchildren spend a lot of time mixing around the dragons and riders. As a finished model this one is good. The build is solid and takes some shaking around before it begins to fall apart and requires a rebuild. Colours are strong and bright and the mini figures are good but I wish the little bears were more realistic. Not a difficult model to build and instructions are included. A much loved birthday present for my granddaughter, 8 years, and aimed at children in the 8-12 year age group.

My six year old daughter made this. I was worried Ashwing the dragon would be wobbly and hard to stand up,but not at all. The colours look good (though red and pink are a little odd) and I LOVE his posable claws! The goblin king is nicely designed with good details, not so keen on the goblin though. The separate smaller piece looks good and the 'explosion' works well. All in all a great set and very reasonably priced

Another one to my daughters ever growing legs collection. This took her maybe 1.5 - 2hrs to make so let her amused for a short time, however she loves to play with it with her others.Little annoying is that it's difficult to get this one to stand up on its own. Others have a much better balance so easier, this one seems very top heavy.

Arrived on time & complete. My 8 year old daughter is really into Lego Elves & loves it. Felt good to reuse second hand plastic bricks rather than buying new.
